The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of many important and beautiful landmarks, including the Prado museum. The staff were friendly and helpful, the daily breakfast was delicious and the parking was a huge plus. I’ll definitely stay here again. The next time I visit Madrid. The rooms were modern and beautifully designed. I loved the large window overlooking the streets below, and gave the room such natural light and a great view. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the linens and towels were high-quality. Overall, a wonderful day with excellent attention to detail.

Don’t be misled by the reviews of this hotel. Paying £430 for two nights is extremely overpriced for what you actually get. The shower was very small, and the shower head constantly switched to the hose on its own. The toilet was located in a carpeted room, which felt very unhygienic.||||The coffee and breakfast area was tiny. I considered trying the breakfast, but the appearance put me off, and other guests commented that it didn’t taste good.||||Our flight wasn’t until later in the day, so we needed to leave our bags at the hotel. The receptionist seemed unsure about this and only agreed after some hesitation, which felt odd. The street outside is extremely noisy, with loud, drunken behaviour continuing into the early hours—my sleep was ruined on both nights. No sound proofing, just poor. ||||Overall, this is definitely a 2-star hotel, but they’re charging 4-star prices. I won’t be returning.

Muchas gracias to the staff, especially María, for the memorable hospitality and local recommendations. This is a no-frills hotel with comfortable beds, a healthy breakfast, and is located in a safe area that’s easily accessible to many attractions (close to Atocha Station, Retiro Park, and the Rastro flea market). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here thanks to the wonderful staff! I would note that if you’re a light sleeper, sound can transfer easily between rooms — pero just bring earplugs! Until next time — ciao!

Great hotel on a quiet street near the Atocha Train Station and Centro Madrid. Reina Sofia Museum is a 10-minute walk & the Prado & Thyssen museums another 10 minutes beyond. The hotel is on a quiet street & our room was very trendy, comfortable & clean. Staff was friendly & helpful.

We only stayed for one night, but everything about this hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. They also offered luggage storage. We were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, and the room itself was very clean with comfortable beds. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting.

Google
Rooms were clean but woefully lacking amenities that should have been included such as shampoo, facial tissue, etc. The supposed "included" breakfast was a joke. Staff tried charging us for the breakfast when we checked out. Hotel is situated in a questionable section of town with no great dining options close by.

Small, boutique hotel in Madrid. Walking distance to Atocha Train and museums. Also, very close to metro stop. Staff is unbelievably helpful. Really trying. Great breakfast. Rooms on the street side can be a bit noisy.

We only stayed overnight before our flight but we loved the place: great service at the door, secure, clean, great coffee, and quiet (perfect for rest before a long travel day). Highly recommend.

Yelp
Aside from a few sticking design points with the room, Artrip offered a few "perks" which made the stay enjoyable. Perks included: free coffee/tea/juices/fruits in the small dining area and a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. Another perk? It was literally a 2min walk to the Lavapies Metro station, so convenient to jump on the subway! Most, if not all, sights were accessible by walk though. Upon check-in, which was a bit early, the friendly concierge said our room was upgraded to a Jr. Suite. That was appreciated! Minor items: The stand-up shower in the room was a bit small and it was apparent that there was some water damage that was patched up, e.g. patchy caulking, wood planks on top of former tiled floor, etc. The sliding door which divided the bathroom from the sleeping area was a bit useless. You can still see all the light and hear noises through it. No biggie if you're travelling as a couple, but perhaps would be weird with a friend! We opted for the additional breakfast option and it was adequate with pastries, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, fruits, bread, etc.

Yelp
So hip and chic. A wonderful boutique hotel in a great location (Lava Pies) where it is safe to crawl the area's plentiful bistros and pubs at any time of day or night. The rooms are clean and spare- almost spartan, but in a good way. I actually inhabited two different rooms because I stayed there twice within a period of a couple of weeks- before and after a side trip to Salamanca. In both rooms, the showers and sinks are state-of-the-art. I really love a wonderful shower. These were the "rain-type" fixtures that spout from the ceiling. Another thing I liked were the open cubicles for your clothing instead of the classic dresser or chest of drawers. I often leave a garment or two in a drawer when I check out, and with this arrangement, it was impossible. The price was right, too. Less than half of what one might expect to pay in a hotel chain. The proprietor, Miguel, was highly visible and very friendly. He even remembered me when I returned for the second part of my stay!

Yelp
A few blocks away from Atocha and the Reine Sophia, it's in a very convenient location. Our room was clean and simple. The front desk receptionist was very helpful in giving recommendations and arranging for a cab ride to the airport. They also offer a simple breakfast (bread, cheese, jamon, cereal, coffee, etc.) for a few euros in the morning that was very convenient.

Yelp
I stayed here 4 nights a week ago and found the staff to be top notch. They are extremely friendly and helpful. They also seemed to be genuinely good people who care that I was having a good time in Madrid. In one case, I decdied to not need breakfast over a few days and asked them to cancel it (even though my booking was supposed to be non-refundable) and they made it really easy for me to do so. Aside from that, there were a couple of things related to the room itself that I thought could be improved which made me want to rate it 4. The beds were pretty comfy but I've found some other hotel's beds to be more comfortable. We also had a case where the bathroom was extremely smelly due to some issue with bathroom of the tenant on the floor above us. The room we got was a junior suite, which was really spacious and very cutely set up. It's a boutique hotel that doesn't look like much from the outside, but is really nicely decorated inside with lovely paintings. The location is great for going to atocha train station and different museums (Reina Sofia is basically next door). Also, a good tip is to book through websites like hotels.com or booking.com rather than their website. I think you can get better pricing that way. Also, you probably want to book at least 2 months ahead of time or else it might not be available for the nights you are looking for.

Yelp
A #1 choice on a travel website got me curious; the fact that the location in "old" Madrid was convenient for my needs and a great promotional rate sealed the deal for a three day stay at this stylish "boutique" hotel. Frankly, I could not have been more pleased, and I can recommend ARTRIP HOTEL to most travelers save, perhaps, the backpacker crowd. At check-in my wife and I were met by the personable owner and a helpful staff fluent in English (and presumably other languages as well). Every effort was made to insure our total satisfaction and comfort, and it was made clear that we were not to be shy about requesting information about local eateries, sights, and transport options. Upon entering our room, we were pleased to discover an inviting and spacious environment, decorated in the most sleek and modern lines. Heating/air conditioning, mood lighting, in room WI Fi, 80+ channel TV, coffee/tea maker, fresh fruit, chilled bottled water, a fabulous rain shower with lots of hot water, and a selection of "your choice" pillows topped things off nicely. The neighborhood of Lavapies remains untouched by 21st Century modernity, so there are plenty of nearby traditional options for dining and tapas. Plaza Santa Ana is a short stroll away, and Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, and Sol are no more than a 15 minute walk from ARTRIP HOTEL. The hotel website, by the way, indicates that it's located only 850 meters from Atocha Station; it's a very long 850 meters, and if you're arriving at Atocha, take one of the plentiful taxis, especially if you're toting luggage. Sleek, modern, comfortable, stylish, clean, friendly and convenient....what more could one possibly want or need in a small hotel. By the way, be sure to check out the interior stairway with its polished hardwood steps and exposed brick walls. It's really a knockout and an architectural wonder. 'Can't wait to get back to ARTRIP!
