Hotel Ashby

Leisure old school hotel with an old world charm. This is not for you if you're expecting a fancy / modern experience. This place is for the seasoned traveller with an eye for the quaint. The establishment has existed for many decades and had housed the who's who of the state back in the day. The establishment also houses a well stocked bar. The main draw for this place is the location. It's a few minutes away from the railway station, bus stands and commercial districts of the city. Consider this place only if you're ready to experience the erstwhile charm of Trichy with an old world experience in a budget friendly, quiet and well connected locale.

It's a pretty only hotel with spacious rooms, clean bathrooms and all that jazz, but the condition of the room was not to our liking. Our room needed dusting. The bed had bedbugs and the room was quiet stuffy. But I guess you get what you pay for. And for the price we paid, I'd say it's forgivable.

Rooms are big and spacious but not well maintained. Tariff is not expensive. Bar is good and prices are good. Rest room in bar is average. Air-conditioned bar. Hotel is very close to Central Bus Stand and Tiruchirapalli junction. Open car parking is available. Totally, it is average experiene.

Surly staff. Decent reception area, and and alfresco restaurant. Handy to bus stand and railway station. Inexpensive restaurants and hole in wall eateries nearby. Overpriced for what it is. Onsite parking for a couple of cars is about the only tangible advantage over comparably priced lodges. The bar is a bit of a bonus, dingy and stinky as are most TN bars.

The worst experience in India. The man of reception was rude and he tried to chek me twice with money on porpose. He tried to charge me 4 time the prize of breakfast. Fortunately, I could show him the menu. The place is dirty. The only good thing are the waiters. Nothing to do with the man who is at the desk in reception. I really feel bad in this place.

Worst experience in my life. There is no proper ventilation in three bedroom accommodation. One fan runs on slow speed. One plug point. Rusted bathroom and water problem. No air-conditioning units. Please don't stay here.

It was one of the famous hotel in Trichy. MGR when ever he comes to Trichy while staying at Trichy he prefer to stay at Ashby Hotel. This hotel was Owned by Captain Rama swamy. Now it has been partitioned to his Sons and Daughter. Presently Rooms are available. Ashby Bar is also famous for its regular customers.

Rooms were some what good at 1000 bugs. But the hotel needs to kept clean and some alterations has to be done in this hotel... Overall good.
