Hotel Aston is an old property located in a prime area of Kolkata, which is convenient for travelers. However, the overall stay is not very comfortable. Priced at ₹1700 for a single person, the value for money feels lacking. The room is basic, and the restroom is quite average in terms of amenities and cleanliness. On the positive side, both the heater and air conditioning functioned well, ensuring temperature comfort. However, the absence of basic facilities such as a water bottle, kettle and tea coffee service was a drawback. Overall, it might work for a budget stay if location is the priority, but there are better options in the same price range.

In my opinion the location of the hotel is perfect, the room I stayed in was fine, during navratri the neighborhood of this hotel is playing bengali devotional songs all day long, the food was good and tasty, The service people in the hotel were polite, cabs etc. are readily available for transport and there are restaurants and wine shops nearby, I felt this hotel was the right place to stay. In the hotel here you have to tell how many days you want to stay otherwise you have to change room or hotel the next day Because people here are not used to asking travelers, so you have to tell them exactly where you are staying.

The rooms are cozy, though a bit compact, and the lighting could use a little extra sparkle.

location of hotel is cool and calm, its bit inside from main road, difficult to find out when you are cab... rooms are kind of congested, yet okay for day or 2 stay.. front desk is professional you can have fair conversation... Cant say rooms are super clean but better than any other hotel in the area... near by know eatery and restaurant takes care of food

One of the worst hotels have ever stayed. Those who have given one star for this hotel explaining it's bad points are correctly said. They don't even deserve one star. No services and always want for making money. Please don't stay in this hotel or else you will regret for sure.

Not upgraded rooms as per current trend, needs serious renovation to this rooms and hotel. Felt very negative vibes during stay. Linen and towels are washed but dull or off white. Location are also in street just off main road. Checked in and checked out taken more time than usual in other hotels. Payment asked just before checked in late night, not waited till morning... Not recommended for business trip nor families

I had been booked into this place by one of our acquaintance during our week long stay in Kolkata. The rooms were pathetically cramped with 1 feet to spare between the bed sides to the walls, with aged beds, non-functional window airconditioner and bathrooms with stained sinks and comode pots. The rooms smelled bad. The sheets and towels were of a complete different era, the white sheets and towels turned yellow and the turkey towels lost their fluff completely. My mother's room had termites and no other rooms were available to even switch. The lift can accomodate only 2 persons and will most probably not start without the gates being slammed several times. Even if it starts, the start/stop motion is totally jerky causing the user to develop neck sprains. They have stringent check-in policy with requirements of capturing the photographs of all guests, taking a copy of their id's and noting down all the guest movements to the finest details, however poor to very poor maintenance of the rooms and the property on the whole. Will never recommend this place to anyone for their stay.
