Hotel Astoria

First time in Arosa, unfortunately not the best weather, but I will certainly be back. Stayed 3 nights at Hotel Astoria, a nice little "gem" with all conveniences. Had booked a single room but was given a very convenient double room which was highly appreciated. Good value for the money, nice breakfast and a very nice spa area.

The Hotel Astoria is a small authentic Swiss hotel owned and operated by Oliver and Edith. They are lovely welcoming people whose care and warmth shine through all aspects of the hotel and restaurant. My wife and I have stayed two different times separated by several years and both times we were impressed by the comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality we experienced. The restaurant food and service are excellent and the spa and pool are clean and never crowded. The Astoria is very well-located, an easy walk to ski rentals and ski lifts as well as the Arosa train station. We found it to be a perfect location for a Winter ski vacation - at a very reasonable room rate. We look forward to returning again soon!

The welcome from Edith and Oliver Schmid, the hotel owners, was great and their support throughout our visit was exceptional. The hotel is only 3 stars but it deserves more. The food, particularly our five course dinners, were really special and the breakfasts plentiful with lovely bread from the new bakery in town. Any description of the hotel will include the friendly bar and lounge area but don't forget the jacuzzis in their wellness area and well appointed steam room and sauna to soothe your aching legs.

I usually do not spend time to write a review but Hotel Astoria truly deserve it. Usually I book 4 to 5 stars hotel when my wife is with me me but this time I went alone to ski during the week to take the opportunity of perfect ski conditions.|All in all, I decided to book a three star hotel and it turns to be a fantastic experience. I arrived pretty late the night before, park my park front of the hotel entrance and while there is no parking in the hotel they just took care about it without me even asking. I was upgraded, the room was nice, very clean and very quiet. Breakfast was good.|In the evening I did enjoy a very nice, small but very well designed and modern spa. When looking for dinner, and after my usual 30 min search for the right restaurant (Food is essential (if not an obsession would say my wife..) for dinner, I decided to stay in the hotel based on the reviews (which never ever happen to me). All in all it was a fantastic experience, the family had planned a special theme night buffet: the variety, the quality, the passion that the family and the team put was just unbelievable... (for Americans: imagine the Las Vegas Caesars palace Bachanal buffet as per Swiss standard). Bottom line the restaurant was full, the crew was very friendly and everything was done for you to enjoy.. having lived in Switzerland for quite a while, first time I see this in a ski station. Really a 3 stars hotel I would definitely recommend and come back to.

The staff is exceptionnally friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The sauna is very nice with a wonderful view. The meals were very tasty, the breakfast excellent and fresh.

A well run, warm atmosphere, family pwned traditional Swiss hotel. We have already booked for 2023 before departure. Our 4th visit to this excellent hidden gem hotel, I ski all over the Alps and always choose the Astoria for the family visit. A family friendly hotel with super local food. The breakfasts are delicious, dinner is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Swiss recipes after a long day on the slopes. It's a quiet hotel, spotless, no fuss with a relaxed atmosphere with some super live music on a weekend evening. Guests are low key and relaxed. The owners are eager to ensure a good impression is made and the standard of staff service is high. The owners can recommend excellent ski guides and advise on everything needed to have a great experience in Arosa. They provide high quality toboggans for Guests. Hotel is not ski in ski out. However the main lift is a gentle and easy 5 minute stroll away and this has never detracted us before from staying.

Thank you, Edith and Oliver, for a wonderful week at your hotel! Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean with two balconies with excellent mountain views. All the staff, including Peter, Astrid and Sandra were very friendly and helpful. The food was always plentiful and delicious. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel based on its location, warm and welcoming owners and staff, amazing views and excellent food.

Very good location, just a few minutes from the train and gondola station. Wonderful view from the balcony. Breakfast was ok but nothing special
