Lovely traditional hotel with the glamorous Italian 1950's vibe. Lovely setting with the lake in front with seating in the front garden which we loved. We had a lake view room which was very comfortable made all the better by the view. Breakfast had a varied choice and was very tasty. I would certainly recommend here, . Stresa & the Islands are beautiful.

The Astoria Hotel in Stresa is in a good position, has very helpful staff and there is a plentiful breakfast. We were a large group and managed to all be upgraded but the rooms did vary quite a lot. One room was pretty dated, pool view and there were no walk in showers. Comfy firm bed. No tea or coffee making facilities but you could go down to the restaurant and get one to bring back to the room. Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced and the hotel restaurant served nice food if you wanted a night in. Cafe's and restaurants across the road and the town a short walk away. We found the location quiet despite the busy road and had no issues sleeping. During our stay the pool was never busy and there were plenty of loungers and a poolside bar. There is parking and we always found a space but it was outside of the school holidays. Would happily stay here again. Obviously if you have a balcony the view is gorgeous.

Great location - just a short walk to the town center and the ferry pickup/drop off to explore Lake Maggiore is located almost directly across from the hotel. Our room had a beautiful view and was clean/comfortable. The staff was friendly and breakfast was good each morning.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Clean, spacious and very traditional. Wonderful location overlooking lake Maggiore. Lovely swimming pool with poolside bar and jacuzzi. Staff were so helpful especially with parking the car which they took to the underground car park and the service impeccable. Could not fault the place at all.

Absolutely lovely hotel, had a lake view room on 4th floor , small but perfect, air con worked great, walk in shower , bathroom clean and well maintained. Stunning view of the lake . Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, evening meal was four courses delicious starters and desserts, mains we sometimes struggled to choose but were very pleased with our choices, the staff are very professional, helpful and friendly- superb ! Pool area and fitness facilities, lockers and showers all great . Reception staff very efficient and helpful. Bar staff (the guy who was from Baveno and spoke some ‘ welsh ‘ with us was brilliant 👌 Great areas to visit around the lake via the ferries and further afield the coach excursion to Zermatt to view the Matterhorn was amazing 🤩

Room was small, bed & pillows hard but very clean. Great view. Except for cleaning, the service was poor. Marco promised that he would get us a taxi or provide a hotel shuttle to the train when we departed, but then did not and told us to walk. Breakfast had good selection but all baked goods were stale and scrambled eggs were made from powder. Security was poor - spare key was given out without checking ID.

Incredibly friendly staff & excellent service. A great range of food for breakfast- the fruit salad was fresh and vibrant and contained a good mixture of fruits. The best scrabbled egg !! A great variety of pastries , lovely fruit juices and breads. The hotel is immaculately clean, and very quiet at night. Excellent!! Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed at the Astoria in Stressa as part of a Riviera travel package. We payed extra to have a lake view with a balcony and this was definitely the right thing to do . If you like to have an early morning tea invest in a travel kettle . The room was clean and sufficient with a lovely shower . Now the food what can I say . It was delicious ,for dinner there was several choices and breakfast so much choice . From cakes to cheeses ,cooked eggs to breads . (We were half board ). The staff were friendly and helpful. It had a lovely swimming pool and also a gym ( didn’t use this so I don’t know how good this was . I would definitely recommend this hotel.
