Thought a lot about this review. First time in Madrid and found this to be a perfect location. You can walk to most interesting places, The Prado, Reina Sofía, Royal Palace, Museum of History of Madrid and many others. Rooms are nice, clean and well appointed. Mini bar re-stock \a bit iffy. Front desk staff were kind and attentive with any requests or questions. Breakfast was good value and enjoyable. The top floor bar and terrace is really nice. Would've liked either different or perhaps more variety beers, maybe a draught option. Really enjoyed the exceptionally friendly staff, except on our last night when the girl working the bar seemed uninterested and surly. Stayed 19 - 28 Feb. If I had one suggestion though it would be to have in room coffee facilities so you don't need to go traipsing around the hotel trying to get to the provided coffee machine. All that being said, I would still heartily recommend this hotel.

This was my first time in Madrid, and the hotel’s location was essential for me to explore the city freely. I had little contact with the staff, but both the check-in and check-out processes were quick and smooth.||The standard room is excellent for a solo traveler or a couple. I really liked the décor and furniture, especially the spacious wardrobe with a few hangers. The room also offers a nice view of Gran Vía. The bathroom is large and well-equipped, and the cleanliness was consistently maintained. A charming detail was the thoughtful gesture of the housekeeping staff, who left a chocolate every night — a very sweet touch.||The hotel also features a rooftop terrace with an extraordinary view of the city and a bar that stays open until 11 p.m. The bartender was incredibly kind and even offered to take a few souvenir photos of me, which turned out great.||I didn’t try the breakfast service, as there are plenty of good options nearby. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the sound insulation in the room was decent. Being in a central location, you might hear the occasional noise from outside, but nothing that interferes with the quality of the stay.

I had a fantastic experience at Hotel Atlántico. The location is unbeatable—right on Gran Vía, just steps away from major attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The room was spotless, quiet, and elegantly decorated, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed. The staff was incredibly professional and welcoming, always ready to help with recommendations or directions. I especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace—it offered beautiful views of the city and was a perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madrid. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Hotel Atlantico was an unexpected delight. The staff was helpful. The rooms were clean. The view from the street facing rooms was delightful. We enjoyed every minute. The rooftop bar was also fun with good wine and nice ambiance. I'd definitely recommend Hotel Atlantico.

This is a brilliant hotel in the heart of Madrid. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with huge bathrooms. of particular note is a lovely lounge on the top floor with a roof terrace, ideal for pre dinner drinks but also for tea, coffee and other snacks from mid afternoon. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return when next in Madrid.

Google
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The rooms are very spacious and made our stay very comfortable. The location was great as it was walking distance to all the attractions like the Plaza Mayor, the palace, metro, and shopping. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we visit Madrid again. The bathrooms were outstanding and spacious.

Google
The hotel was everything we required. Close to shopping and attractions. We walked everywhere so the location was perfect. Room was clean and meet our needs. Staff was kind and helped when required. Breakfast onsite was ok. One evening we ordered drinks from the bar and the hotel packed everything up so we could take to our room - that was perfect. Room safe was good. Slippers - nice touch. We couldn’t figure out the room heating but it was needed since we were there during a cold spell. Liked the wood floors. Bed comfortable. Never used the TV.

Everything was pleasant and went very nice. From reception to room service. Excellent beds, warm blankets. Bar and terrace on 9 floor perfectly added to our good experience with this hotel. Highly recommend for all guests

Yelp
Great hotel! We stayed for 14 nights and had a wonderful time. The staff are all very nice and work very hard. The hotel is extremely clean. The housekeeping staff really do an outstanding job. We loved our room on the 8th floor with the balconies. Great mattress and clean and crisp ironed sheets. Good body pillows too. Excellent breakfast options. I loved the coffee machines and the eggs. Fantastic views and location. The rooftop terraces are great. Special thanks to Rocio, Arturo, Ray and Alvaro for making our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Location location location! While the rooms were a little dated, the bathrooms were magnificent. Hotel staff resolved issues very promptly.

Yelp
This beautiful hotel in the heart of Madrid is close to the action in the heart of the city yet offers quiet interior rooms upon request. This was unquestionably our favorite shower in Spain. Anyone and everyone who works at the front desk is incredibly helpful and friendly! Unfortunately, the pillows are flimsy, and the mattresses do not offer good support. So this was our only hotel in all of Spain at which we struggled to get a good night's sleep.

Yelp
Just returned from our stay at Hotel Atlantico. The hotel is in the perfect location on the Gran Via. You can walk to anything around the city which was great. Since traffic is really bad in the city, it definitely saved a lot of time being able to walk to everything rather than sitting in cabs in traffic and wasting time while racking up fees. The hotel and our room was very clean and our room was spacious. The hotel staff was pleasant and was willing to help guests. They assisted us in making a reservation, and confirmed our shuttle pick-up for our departure. I don't have any complaints about our stay here, and I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Madrid.

Yelp
4 star Hotel located right on the "Times Square" of Madrid called the Grand Via. You'll know it immediately b/c of its bright blue vertical neon lights. It is right by the Primark and malls and in the busiest part of Madrid. You are about 2mins from the iconic blue gold dome that is the face of Madrid. 10-15 min walk from the Real Madrid Palace. About 15-17 mins from the Prado Museum. 10-12 min from the El Rastro Market (definitely go if it's a Sunday in your visit), 5 min uber/ taxi from the Madrid Atacho Train Station to get out to the other towns, about 20 mins from the Airport. Front door and service was friendly and helpful. There is a coffee bar upstairs. There is a buffet breakfast for 12 euros- the hot water machine/coffee machine is open access 24 hours for those who want to drink hot tea at night. Only thing is, our original room had out of control heater on. We were super thirsty and dried out 2 hours into our evening and had to turn on the AC to balance out the humidity. So if you're someone sensitive to heat/dryness, do not hesitate to change rooms out if you don't want to roast to Iberian ham by the next morning. Rooms were elegant and reminded me of a palace- old school red carpets in the hallways, mirror paneled and elegant bathrooms, large beds, old school classical interiors.

Yelp
This is a great hotel located in the heart of Madrid. Because it's on a main thoroughfare, there are a ton of people constantly passing by! We asked for a quiet room and were given one on the courtyard, which was quite nice. Compared to many European hotels, the rooms are good sized. The bathroom is small, but that is to be expected, and it had a bidet, for those of you who are into them. They have a bar on the top floor which is quite small inside but has a beautiful patio. We met a number of fun people there, both regulars and first-time tourists. It's a great spot!

Yelp
We stayed at the Hotel Atlantico for 3 nights in December. Definitely a great spot. Super convenient location, walkable to all of the amazing sights in Madrid. Our group got two rooms -- both very spacious. Desk, small table, end tables, HUGE closet. The bathroom was also big, and sparkling clean. I loved the breakfast buffet -- very affordable for 12€ per person. A great selection of eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries and fruits. Also coffee and tea. The lounge on the 9th floor was also amazing! Definitely check out Gran Via from up high. The staff is good, not overly solicitous. Our rooms were ready when we checked in post-red eye which was a dream. I knocked a star off because the walls are thin and you can hear loud folks from neighboring rooms, the hallways and upstairs. If you are a light sleeper, this may be bothersome. Also, our rooms faced a small dark courtyard, so not much in the way of natural light. Regardless, I definitely recommend if you are in Madrid!

Yelp
Loved our stay at Hotel Atlantico! Staff all spoke English and the subway was super close so we took that everywhere! We checked in without a problem. Our room and bathroom was very clean. Great lighting! Our room came with a balcony but it's useless because there aren't chairs/tables out there and it over looks a clothing store. Tons of clothing stores around this hotel, Starbucks right across the street (for us, Americans..ha), and area is safe. Definitely recommend this hotel to all in search of a place in Madrid! And Takos Al Pastor is a MUST if you're in Madrid!

Yelp
Loved this place. Rooms were large and super clean. Bathrooms the same. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was very nice and spoke English. Location was also amazing. We were close to everything and can walk anywhere within 20 minutes. Alternatively there are plenty of cabs and the metro close by. There was street noise when I had the balcony doors open which wasn't a problem for me as I like it. I didn't eat at the breakfast as I slept late every day. Highly recommend this hotel. Classy all the way.

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Atlantico! Right on Gran Via, and the subway so you are close to everything. We had a small balcony and it was wonderful to see the street performers! There are shuttered windows that block out all sunlight so you can definitely sleep in if you like as well. The staff was wonderful and we enjoyed sangria and olives on the balcony. There is also shopping along the Grand via if you need anything or just like to shop!

Yelp
Great location, room & amenities provided with an excellent price I have to say this is the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Europe. It should be a 5 star not a 4. Rooms are very spacious specially if you conceder European standers. With a walk in closet & big bathroom with a bathtub, 2 sinks & a isolated toilet. As for the amenities, much more than the standard is available without requesting ( slippers, robes, dental kit, shaving kit, toilet seat cover, and much more) On top of all of this WIFI is free allover the hotel ( in your room too) The only downfall is the tiny elevator, which I can ignore compared to the other amazing things. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Madrid

Yelp
Awesome surprise! Great location, centrally located from most tourist spots. We didn't hop in a cab or train once! Hotel was very spacious, clean and well decorated. Heads up- the breakfast is not free, they will charge the room. And the TV only has the news in English so bring a tablet or laptop if you want to relax.

Yelp
Stayed here again. Have nothing to change to my previous review. Just stay here. Don't make your life difficult and stay here.

David M.

Yelp
Front reception staff is downright rude. Rooms are small the bathroom is even smaller. There are numerous fleas especially living in the bathroom. Stay away!

Yelp
Located on the bustling Gran Via, the Hotel Atlántico was quite impressive for a hotel associated with Best Western. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, from the moment we checked in, until the moment we needed a taxi to get us to the airport. The location was good in that we were very close to many restaurants, shops, sightseeing stops, and close to public transportation. I was disappointed that there was no fitness center, however. The room was relatively spacious and clean. There is in-room wireless internet, which we paid for the first year we were here, but then the second year it was gratis. There is also a buffet-style breakfast served at the hotel, which is less expensive than most hotels but you can find better breakfast by venturing outside the hotel. There were not many options for breakfast, but it was alright for price. Because we had such a positive experience our first time in Madrid, we have booked at the Hotel Atlántico on subsequent trips.

Yelp
Loved the hotel and the location was prime. We walked just about every where from here and they even offer a shuttle to and from the airport (which are limited but available for a nominal fee check the front desk and website for details). The room was clean and relatively spacious with 2 twin beds. My room over looked a tiny courtyard with a fountain. The room also had a mini bar, internet via your small flat screen tv and some robes in the closet. They offer a turn down service nightly and generous Continental breakfast in the morning. The hours of which have been adjusted to fit the Western early Breakfast. Breakfast featured several sliced meats, poached eggs, ham bacon or sausage, cheeses, various fruits and pastries, juices, champagne, coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate. They had a turn down service nightly and the chocolates they left on the pillow were quite tasty....lol.... The hotel was quiet and safe. I had no problems while there and the staff were all quite friendly and ready to provide suggestions and assistance. I would absolutely stay here again becasue of its location and quality for the price.

Yelp
This place was Great, Free WiFi, Clean Room, Large open bathroom with 2 sinks, 2 shower heads, great service, close to everything, nice bar / snack area upstairs with a view , my room had a sweet balcony I would ask for room with a terrace, bed was comfy and AC worked great, I will be Back!!

Yelp
Well situated, very nice hotel in center of Madrid This is a good hotel for combined business and tourism as they have a nice business center on the top floor, as well as a very attractive terrace and area for afternoon drinks. Atlantico is located on the main shopping street of Madrid and is within walking distance of the Plaza Mayor, the Prado and the Thssen Bornemisza museums. It was also three underground stops from the Sorolla Museum which we might have missed if it hadn't been highly recommended. The museum is in one of Madrid's upscale residential neighborhoods. The room was very nice and the staff was very friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. We had a room looking out on the main street which was not ideal, but soundproofing was pretty effective and we did not ask to be relocated. Still, a room in the rear is probably better. The hotel offered a very good breakfast, not cheap but it's very good with a wide range of choices.

Yelp
Great hotel location, near shopping and sightseeing bus stops. Newly renovated rooms. Huge beds and bathrooms. Nice and helpful staffs.

Yelp
Hotel Atlántico was located in the perfect spot on Gran Via. From the rooms you cannot hear the traffic of the street below! The Wifi worked well, and the rooms were comfortable and clean, complete with turn down service and chocolates on the pillow. The staff was knowledgeable and extremely helpful and welcoming. They had wonderful suggestions and were very friendly. The hotel allowed me to leave my larger bags without an extra charge while I traveled to the northern part of Spain (between checking out and checking back in), and I could not have asked for more. The views from the rooftop are beautiful. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is lovely in every way. Gracious hospitality, and they are very attentive to the details - big room with two large twin beds, crisp and comfortable sheets, two separate bathroom areas, music in the bathroom, electronic window shades, chocolates on the bed for turn-down, lots of towels, many toiletries and sewing kit, slippers, etc. And the location can't be beat - right in the heart of Madrid. Definitely recommend this place, and I hope to come back soon!

Caroline A.

Yelp
This is a really great value hotel. The ameneties are just OK, and the beds are tiny. However, the ninth floor outdoor lounge allows for gorgeous panoramic views of Madrid, while enjoying an afternoon cocktail or cafe con leche. The Hotel Atlantico is centrally located Calle Gran Via, which is the main street in Madrid. The Parque de Retiro, museums and restaurants are all within walking distance. There is also a large Zara and Sephora next to the hotel - in case you need any last minute outfits of beauty supplies. Checking in and out were a breeze. The staff was quite courteous. I enjoyed my stay Free wifi is available in the hotel lobby, as well as the ninth floor lounge.
google avatar

Loy G.

Yelp
Room descriptions online very deceiving! Ridiculously small twin bed (and NOT amenable when asked for upgrade and said I would pay upgrade fees), shower head faces OUT from middle of shower (plz explain how one is supposed to shower w/out flooding floors), and left adapter in which they said they never found (and refused to check room again). The location may be good for some, but honestly, first time to Madrid and would have preferred to stay elsewhere. This is not a four-star hotel: it's a two-star boutique hotel at best. Choose wisely next time!

Yelp
Awesome, awesome, awesome staff. The staff is fully bilingual and they are very polite. Every time I sent them an email all the way from Hawaii, they would reply within 1 hour no matter the time of the day. Top-notch service. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from the Barajas airport that departs from Terminal 1. Tip: save the phone number from the hotel +34 91 522 64 80 on your cell so you can call them upon arrival. The shuttle only runs at certain hours but if you...like me...arrived when they were about to leave, they will wait for you. The driver was polite and helped us with our bags. They will drop you off right at the hotel door. The checkin was fast and we were on our way to the room. Here is the one part that sucks about the hotel: the elevator. There is only 1 and it is very small. It will be a pain only when you need to move a lot of heavy bags. The breakfast buffet is a great value and I recommend it. They have a coffee machine and tons of pastries, fruits, cold cuts, hot items, juices, etc. You will definitely get your bang for your buck. While the room is a bit on the small side, the bathroom makes more than up for it. I am a fan of big bathrooms and this one was niiiiiiiice. The shower was spacious and comfortable for 2. They don't participate in any air miles program but I got points through hotels.com. :) The hotel is within walking distance from a metro station and is right on the Gran Via....what else do you need? This was the only hotel that I used in Madrid and I wouldn't have changed for anything.

R S.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE AMERICANS! This place sucks. Rooms are non-smoking but they stink to high heaven of stale cigarettes. Asked the front desk about it and they said its non smoking so they don't know what it could be, but there are 4 ash trays in the room. Also the whole side and front of the building are currently being redone so there is scaffolding throughout. Really great to look out your window and see a Spaniard in a hard hat. Did a double take almost thought he was wearing the old school conquistador helmet. Way over priced. Stick to a better hotel.

Yelp
Amazing hotel. Awesome roof top with drinks. Free WiFI. In the heart of Madrid

Yelp
Hotel Atlantico was likely the nicest hotel we stayed in during our European vacation. The location was great, being a five minute walk from Plaza del Sol. We greatly enjoyed the continental breakfast, complete with tortilla and other Spanish fare. The rooftop was also wonderful, but we couldn't find anyone tending the bar while we were up there. Everything was very nice, the air conditioning worked great, and the shower had great water pressure. I had to remind myself occasionnally that we were abroad, because Atlantico had all the amenities one comes to expect of an American hotel. Mrs. B and I enjoyed our stay.

Barbara B.

Yelp
My wife and I along with another couple had a wonderful stay. The hotel was clean, well maintained and the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. The morning breakfast was excellent. Carmelo Medina gave us great tips on sight seeing and restaurants. Great people and beautiful hotel.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel for a week and it was wonderful. The staff helpful and willing to make your visit very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madrid. The location of this hotel is in a good area of the city and there's lots of shopping in the area.

Yelp
First time in Madrid and this hotel met all of our expectations. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The view was spectacular. The location is perfect!
