Nice hotel. A bit old, although the room was renovated. In the heart of the old city. Luggage drop off is a bit complex but manageable.

I thought Merano would be a small village. It is a town. Very nice. |The hotel is very nice. Not exactly luxury but the rooms are ok. The situation on the river is perfect. It is directly on the walking street. Ask for a river view room. Important |I got HB. The dinner last night was good but not great. But, the restaurant was filled. They were serving at their outdoor patio. It was lovely |Parking is not good. You must park across the river in the city parking building and walk back. This was difficult for me. They did unload my luggage at the hotel. |Tuesdays in the summer there are bands at night and many booths selling wine, etc. It was packed last nice. It was really fun. 90% Italians. |English is not spoken everywhere.

A fine hotel with medium sized rooms of a bit older age but very well maintained - just like the majority of the guests. The location is excellent. The personal very friendly, the breakfast was very good. We very much appreciated the free of charge mobility card during our full stay which allowed free use of trains, buses and cable cars down to Bolzano, the cable car of Renon and tram to Klobenstein.Or the train to Mals, direction of Paso di Resia.

Sorry we only booked and stayed one night. If arriving by car, check Google maps for the lane behind the hotel where you drop off your luggage and enter the hotel. Reception then provides a map for parking across the river. From check in to check out, service was exemplary. Given the hotel’s location, we were sure how check in would be with a car however staff at reception made it was easy. Check out was just as easy retrieving the car, and then loading it at the back door.||The room we booked was a classic double with balcony. It was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well and the wi fi signal was strong. We slept well, hotel is quiet and the room was quiet. The hotel has an elevator and the location is ideal.||Breakfast was a very nice buffet with plenty of variety. Fresh fruit cocktail, fresh pineapple, melon and 'freshly' squeezed orange juice!! Pastries were delicious - chocolate croissant - fantastic. Scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, cereal, etc. All fantastic. |What a well managed hotel, and a great team of employees! Nice job Aurora Hotel.|

My wife and I stayed here while checking out the Merano Christmas Market (very good by the way). The hotel could not have been better. It had a lovely riverside setting and was within walking distance to everything. The Christmas Market was right outside the door, the spa right across the river, a taxi stand right around the corner, and restaurants and old town sights a few steps away. The hotel offered discounts at the spa and provided a nice tote filled with spa necessities. The hotel breakfast was very good and included in our rate. The rooms were well appointed and clean and the front desk friendly. I really do not know what else one could want. We would go back without hesitation.

This hotel has great location, right in front of the river and center part of the town. You can park the car across the river at Terme and they have discount for the pass, the towel and bathrobe set in the basket to go with. The staff members are very prompt at your needs and room service was great. Highly recommended.

The Hotel Aurora is right in the middle of the action in Merano, only steps away from the famous Kurhaus and the thermal bath, you can even buy a ticket to the bath directly in the hotel. The rooms are really stylishly decorated and many look towards the river but for a real riverview, one should request a higher level room as beautiful trees block the view in the summertime. The reception staff wqs really delightful and very helpful, even walking guests to their rooms and explaining all the amenities. Given it’s prime location, the Hotel Aurora isn’t one of the cheaper options in this very popular spa town but would definitely choose it again on a return visit.

We went to Merano to visit because my grandmother had a home there, and we would visit as children. The town is lovely! Wonderful hiking, great food and nice people. Unfortunately that is not the experience we had at the Hotel Aurora. We had locked in the price for the hotel, because we booked months in advance. Unfortunately we were not able to stay as long as we liked, and cancelled 2 of the nights. We were promised that if the rooms were re-rented we would not be charged. The rooms were re-rented at a much higher rate, but they still charged us!||||We spoke with the woman from the reception ( Lisa Aukenthaler) who was INCREDIBLY rude and dismissive. She agreed IN WRITING that they wrongly charged us for 2 nights and in addition charged us a much higher rate than was originally booked! To add insult to injury, she muttered an antisemitic comment under her breath, in German, but we are fluent in German and understood her remark.||||After months of fighting we finally got our money back, but what a huge headache! Buyer beware!

Yelp
STAY AWAY! The worst dining experience I have EVER had. The service was slower than slow. One of four meals was served and then 30 minutes later, the other three meals were served. One star is needed to post this.

Yelp
