Hotel Austria

This hotel was centrally located in the center of town with two train stations within 5 minutes walking so you can get around easily. The breakfast was simple but with abundant options to select. There were two restaurants serving authentic cuisine within 3 minutes from the hotel. The room though small was comfortable with a lot of outlets to plug in devices. I appreciate their help in arranging a taxi to take us to the airport when we were returning home.

My husband and I stayed here for a week and it was a wonderful hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom area was roomy and the shower was excellent. The location of the hotel cannot be beaten - it is near most attractions and within walking distance of the subway and many other sights. The breakfast is fresh, varied and plentiful. Best of all the hotel is on a small alley off of a quiet street. There is NO noise whatsoever from outside. I highly recommend the Hotel Austria and also advise that you let them arrange your taxi from the airport to the hotel - their rate was a good bit less than what we paid doing it on our own. Great little hotel, full of character, in the middle of all the hustle and bustle yet tucked away in a mews within a quiet street. Comfy bed and pillows, kettle. It’s very clean but it’s old, don’t expect luxury. Breakfast could be better. Metro is two minutes away and lots of attractions are walking distance - there’s a Spar almost facing the hotel. You’ll be charged £3 for each pair of slippers although our staying was 3 days+ No luggage trolley or assistance is provided. Basic amenities such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and body lotion are not included. Ironing facilities consist of a shared iron on the ground floor nearby the food area! The hotel still uses traditional keys instead of modern key cards. The air conditioning system is outdated and operated via remote controls. We experienced issues with it during the night, and surprisingly, there was no maintenance support available until the next day. Fortunately, the weather was mild. We requested a room change due to the technical issue, but the staff member on duty (Friday night, 31/07/2025) claimed there was no availability, even for a single night. However, online booking platforms showed that rooms were indeed available — extremely disappointing. There is no room service — you must go to the reception for anything you need. Breakfast is repetitive and offers very limited options. No complimentary water is provided at the reception. The internet service is extremely slow and the rooms are dusty

This hotel is in a good location in Vienna but has issues for sure. It’s a quiet little place down an alley. We (2 couples) checked in and all was smooth until an hour or so,later when we needed some help. The reception desk was manned by Roman. He was rude and needlessly short tempered with us. If you are in the hospitality business, can you at least be hospitable? The rooms themselves are clean enough but typically small. The shower is tiny. If you are plus size good luck getting in and out. The beds and pillows are very soft. They are virtually no amenities in the room. There is some coffee but no moisturizer etc. A container of bd and shampoo wash is in the shore and on the sink. The breakfast was okay. Fair selection of things to eat.

We loved our stay in this beautiful hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfasts were perfect and the staff were friendly and helpful! The location is within walking distance to many restaurants, shops and major attractions. We would definitely stay here again!!

A true gem in the heart of Vienna. Tremendous value. My favorite thing was that I couldn't hear my neighbors. Walking distance to everything. Great restaurants nearby. Tucked away from busy street. Great rooms. Great staff. Air conditioning. What a gem. I'll be back.

Ten out of ten. The location is good. The room was comfortable. I liked a hot water pot. The breakfast was wonderful. We arrived around 0900am though, we were able to use our room. Front desk ladies were so helpful. We highly recommend.
