What can I say about Hotel Austria!? First things first, don’t hesitate to book this lovely hotel. Three stars!? It certainly deserves 4+! The staff is very kind, courteous, and professional from the initial booking period via email correspondence, al the way through to check out. Always greeting you with a warm Hello and Goodbye. The hotel is older, yes, but it’s very clean, and very well maintained. The beds are cozy, the rooms are very quaint, and cute, and the hot water is plentiful. The breakfast is delicious, and the hotel is located on a quiet and safe alleyway. Close to the U4 stop and tramline (about 5 minute walk). The center of the Innere Stadt and Saint Stephen’s Cathedral is a hop, skip, and jump away. So go ahead and book this hotel, I promise, you will love it, and you will not be disappointed! Thank you Hotel Austria for a wonderful stay!! We can’t wait to return. Vienna is lovely!

Great location, however this hotel lacks basic amenities found at similar hotels with the same rating. The elevator was shaky at best. In the bathroom there was no shampoo/conditioner. Instead only a combination shampoo/body wash. Breakfast was adequate not great. Overall the hotel was very clean but I would recommend looking at oth hotels.

Staff was super kind, helpful when I had to check out really early in the morning! Breakfast had a diverse selection, even for a picky vegetarian. Hotel was very quiet, but didn't feel too empty. The room had a separate space with a couch and TV, which was an unexpected bonus. Super clean, and great location, even with the site itself under construction.

What a lovely and beautiful old hotel. Our room was clean and lovely with solid air conditioning! The staff at the hotel were amazingly helpful - really helped us find an amazing concert event we did not know about! The lovely gentleman at the front desk was just so helpful and kind - especially after a long day travelling. The hotel is right in the city center - quick walk to St Stevens and the amazing other churches and square of Vienna. The breakfast was amazing! Huge selection of sweet and savory! Always replenished ! And the lively breakfast room was so authentically Austrian. Wonderful place to stay!

This hotel had everything we wanted - centrally located yet on a quiet street and a buffet breakfast with plenty of options. We booked a comfort room which was quite spacious, especially the bathroom. There was a complimentary box of chocolates waiting for us in the room. They were really good! The lobby area of the hotel was super cozy and gave off library feels. For the price of this hotel in comparison to others in Vienna, it ended up being so much nicer than I expected. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was centrally located in the center of town with two train stations within 5 minutes walking so you can get around easily. The breakfast was simple but with abundant options to select. There were two restaurants serving authentic cuisine within 3 minutes from the hotel. The room though small was comfortable with a lot of outlets to plug in devices. I appreciate their help in arranging a taxi to take us to the airport when we were returning home.

My wife and I are near the end of a weeklong stay at this hotel and most enthusiastically recommend it. We stayed in a "comfort room," which was sized right for us and features a modern bathroom, large enough to allow both of us to use the facilities simultaneously, with a convenient shower and plenty of hot water. The property is meticulously maintained and housekeeping is attentive without being intrusive. The same is true of the front desk and breakfast service. The ample breakfast includes scrambled eggs perfectly prepared, sausage, a range of delightful breads with wonderful jellies (tho I can attest only to the taste of the sour cherry), rich creamy (but simple) yogurt, plenty of coffee, whole milk, fruits and more. The quietness of the service is part of the peace of the hotel, which is at the end of a short well-lighted alley. The tranquility of this property, inside the old part of Vienna, is remarkable due to its location only an easy 10 minute walk from the busy and noisy St Stephan's Cathedral and the Schwedenplatz stop for trams, subways and buses. The Hotel Austria has contributed mightily to the pure joy that we have found during our week in Vienna. And, yes, everyone speaks English but we've found that at all the museums, concerts and restaurants that we've visited.

This is a well-placed hotel, on a side alley not far from Stephansplatz. Staff is superb, room was very comfortable, breakfast was nicely done, and overall the experience was a very good one. Staff, in particular, went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
