Hotel AVA

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and was very impressed by George, who was extremely polite, friendly, and welcoming. The hotel itself is spotless, with spacious and modern rooms. Breakfast was excellent, and the two ladies working in the breakfast area were very accommodating and eager to assist. The location is also ideal, being very close to the train station—just grab a ticket and you’re on your way. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of breads and fruit. The location is great if utilise the buses or trains. Otherwise only a local pizza place to eat within easy walking distance. Also, surprised parking cost extra.

Nice hotel spoilt by the manager. First time ever that we had to be spoken to, like little kids, about what we could do and what we couldn't do. The main bone of concern was no tea making in the rooms. Too messy was his thoughts. We could have hot drinks in the breakfast area, not open until breakfast time. No early or late night hot cup of tea. A lot of our group are early rises, love an early morning tea.

Hotel located across railway station. Lots of noise during day and late at night. Hotel management provides ear plugs in room to mitigate noise. Service is substandard especially by an Indian at front desk/bar who is very rude. No airconditioner,refrigerator or tea kettle in the room. Hotel staff stated policy of exorbitant charges on checking in, for example if you loose key it costs 30 CHF, if you spill food in room it costs 500 CHF. Though I didn't notice any written house rules or policies posted at front desk or premises. It seems like they try to rob the guests. Our group stayed for four days but no one was happy with the stay.

No many options outside hotel. |Negative - Hotel has many restrictions for groups (not aure if it applies to individual or family) - no eating in rooms - no cooking, not even to boil water for instant noodles. No smoking in room (Understandable) no smoking even at the balcony - (wierd) whats balcony for??|Hotel rooms has coffee machine - but no coffee capsule nor tea sachets. Hotel mgr explains that - guest tends to spoil the machine. This is the most ridiculous reason. Explanation; not accepted.|In such situation, prrhaps - it only common sense - not to provide coffee machine in rooms

Been staying in lots of hotels lately and this is the only one I felt motivated to leave a review for. George was so friendly and helpful and welcoming

Friendly staff, very clean and cosy rooms. All apartments have a glass-surrounded terrace with nice views. Although the hotel is not far from the railway, the noise was hardly an issue for me and was more a profitable time-saving solution. There was a TV, coffee machine and a safe in the room . My room's bathroom had only a shower, no bathtub, but that is exactly how I like it. The overall philosophy of the place is sustainability, thus also the breakfast is individually chosen/cooked. It is also very simple, so don't expect fancy stuff. There is also a fitness room, vending machines and a bar in the lobby. There are other services as well, but since I did not use them, I am not gonna comment on them.
