Trendy hotel with great location. The breakfast is amazing! I love the olive oil they have. Will be a kitchen stable at home going forward. I see it’s available at Eataly in the US. The room was clean. Would recommend 10/10. The only thing I would like to share is the ramp for accessibility to the main entrance is blocked off behind the bushes. It can’t possibly be used. I wish they would consider modifying it for guests with accessibility needs and for with large suitcases, too.

I loved that the hotel was close to the train station. I highly recommend this area (Dorsoduro) because it’s quiet and has a more family-oriented vibe. It’s away from the main attractions but Venezia is walkable and trust me, you want to rest in a less crowded area of the island. The hotel is spacious and modern, but art everywhere. I really enjoyed chilling in the patio and the lobby. The breakfast buffet has everything you need to start your morning. The rooms are big and welcoming. I’m going to miss the view from our room, it was so magical to wake up and see the canal through the window. The staff is so friendly, you feel right at home in Avani Rio Novo hotel. Definitely coming back.

Simple, elegant, and most importantly very clean! The Avani exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in the door, we loved this placed! All of the staff we interacted with during our stay were very kind and helpful. The room was perfectly clean and the location is in the quieter district of Dorsoduro. When we went out to eat near by, we would find ourselves amongst mostly locals which was perfect for our experience and quality of food. Proximity to the rail station was a plus too. We would highly recommend this location to anyone.

We only had one night in Venice so we booked this to be close to the train station. It was easy to take the bus straight from the airport to the train station and then about a 10 minute walk from there, with 4 bridges/stairs to pass. Overall was convenient location for transporting our luggage. We were able to walk from here all over Venice. Plenty of places to eat within 10 mins walking, and we walked 20-30 minutes to go to the more busy areas. Very modern rooms and friendly staff! Comfortable lobby and outdoor seating area, plus water station in the lobby was very convenient.

We were part of a tour group of 11 who spent 2 night here as part of our tour. I liked it because many of the hotels in Venice can be musty and old but this one feels new and modern. It is also very quiet and off the beaten path, but still close to anything you might want to do. The staff spoke perfect English, so well almost no accent even! My only complaint is that there was a special event there our second night, we were only there for 2 nights, so we did not have access to the bar or restaurant that night so we missed out on happy hour! So we went to a shop and bought wine and took to our room.

Rooms and all public areas very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. We were in need of a wheelchair and the reception staff were very helpful and let us use a wheelchair for the duration of our stay. The breakfast is also very good. Overall an excellent experience to stay here. Situated in a good location near to bars and restaurants and easy enough to get to major attractions. Highly recommended.

Google
Rooms are good and spacious, which is good for Venice. It’s far away from Piazza San Marco. Breakfast is like in America so if you’re used to travel to Europe to nice hotels don’t expect this one to be up to the standards. Coffee is from a machine that doesn’t have good quality, everything is serve yourself and the “American-hotel quality like”.

Google
Average at best. We were a tour group, and there were plenty of others, so if you are travelling solo, beware, as the large groups tend to leave early and overwhelm the breakfast. That said, our room was okay, good bed, although one morning there was no hot water, issue with something that was never explained, but it was back the next day. The staff from front desk to bar were all v very nice and helpful, especially Giovanni in the bar!

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel for 2 days and I really enjoyed it. First off service was very good and everyone was so friendly. The rooms are nice and you can get a decent view of the canals. I came for a birthday/honeymoon and they gave me a complimentary bottle of champagne which was a nice free bonus. In terms of the room, it's small and comfortable. It has everything you would need and I feel this hotel was conveniently located near the train station as well as close to all the big areas in Venice. Breakfast - Food was delicious, had a great selection of items. They even had a coffee machine to make whatever you want which was awesome. Overall, would recommend this spot for convenience, friendliness, and breakfast. They even gave us a free welcome drink, which we used to get wine, because we booked through Costco. Enjoyed my stay here!

Yelp
I was so worried about this hotel cause our tour had posted old pictures of the bed and it was nothing like the pictures I seen! I was so happy! It turned out to be the best most updated place we stayed in Italy! Nice friendly service. Walking distance to everything you need while traveling. We had a great time! Good breakfast Buffett too! Love the expresso machine!

Yelp
What a wonderful place for a Venetian vacay! Clean and modern with wonderful staff. Get the breakfast. You will be glad you did. With a wide variety of international foods, you can power up for the day ahead. Our room has a king size bed, a wonder view and a modern bathroom with a bidet (hot and cold water). They make great use of the total space and the hotel windows open from the top to let in fresh air. When the moon hits your eye...

Yelp
My husband stayed at nH Venezia Rio Novo in June for our five year anniversary. This hotel is a convenient distance from the train station, we only had one suitcase so we walked over to the hotel but there are water taxis that can take you to different parts of the islands or the other side if needed. Hotel is very modern and clean. Very friendly staff, they all spoke English and that was helpful. Breakfast was great! And there were several restaurants within walking distance that we loved. Beautiful views of the canal from our room with huge floor to ceiling windows. The windows do open, FYI. Spacious walk in shower. We loved staying in the Rio novo district. It was quiet but still within a 20 min walk to st.Mark's sq and all your other main attractions. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Fancy, modern and people leave you alone! Friendly staff, quiet rooms. Not very close to water taxi stops but walking isn't a problem. I would stay again if I'm ever back in Venezia.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel, beautiful rooms with great accommodations. Super friendly & helpful staff. Location very close to the Vaporetto & main attractions. Loved the beautiful courtyard with chill music & couches where we had wine & relaxed enjoying the beautiful weather. Great breakfast buffet with variety of pastries, fruits & egg entrees ...& espresso machine with as many cups of coffee as I needed!

Yelp
Average hotel room that costs way too much money. Front desk receptionist was very rude, and tacked on an additional 20 euros per night for having a second guest with. I literally travel the world and have never encountered a hotel with this policy, and it's complete bullshit the charge was hidden until checking in. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially not Americans as we're treated very poorly by the local hotel staff. Update: Woke up covered in mosquito bites - understandable for the location but to actively have mosquitoes flying around a hotel that costs more than 300 euros a night is simply unacceptable.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, close to the train station. Michelle from NH Gustiano Rome location recommended this.

Yelp
We asked the hotel to clean the bed sheets and what do we find when we are back in our room-- hair on our bed sheets and other nasty things. Please clean and wash your sheets before rooming guests here. Very unhappy.

Yelp
The approach to the hotel was not inviting - laundry hanging on the building across, lots of graffiti surrounding, but the lobby is bright and comfortable. This isn't a lavish or elegant hotel, but the room (we stayed three days, two different visits) was very clean and had everything we needed. There were usb plugs by the bed, mini-bar, well-lighted closets. The bathroom was very chic with a nice make-up mirror and bidet and shower. It's all new and sleek. I was concerned about the shower, however. I am mid-sixties and wondered if other older people would have shared my concerns. The tub was very high to step into, and there were no handles to grab onto if it got too slippery. It just required some caution but it's worth making note of. There was a lovely breakfast area though it wasn't included in our rate. We did order cappuccinos one morning and the bartender brought us some cake (gratis) to go with. Very nice reception ladies - some friendlier than others. Overall, happy with this choice.
