Look at the place in person prior to booking. We booked online because the photos of the place looked very unique and nice. However when we got there the room was not cleaned well. The pillows were old and stained, the sheets were unwashed, there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Overall the place looked abandoned.
There was a window in the shower? Not sure why, it was not a window looking to the outside it was looking to a boiler room of some sort, that was a little scary.
The front desk guy was very polite and tried to help us with getting another room but the second room was a little better but not by much. It was still moldy and the sheets were not washed. Pillows were gross. The only other option the receptionist gave us was to upgrade to another room but we had to pay more. At that point after seeing two different very dirty rooms we opted to just leave. I did not feel comfortable sleeping there.
The owner of the hotel does not give refunds and from what we heard sometimes they refund you the money sometimes they don’t. We decided to take our chances as we were not happy with the rooms.
We thankfully booked with booking which helped us receive a full refund.
We aren’t super picky when it comes to hotels, the place looked cute on the photos, but in person it was very disappointing.
It needs more love. I don’t think changing the pillows or washing the sheets is that crazy of a cost. They really need to do better!
Staff was friendly and helpful but it sounds like the owner is cheap and not keeping up with the maintenance of the place.
