Aveiro Is Called the 'Venice of Portugal' — Here's Why

"Located in the heart of Aveiro, Hotel Aveiro Palace combines historic charm with modern comfort. The property overlooks the town's central canal, giving guests who choose a riverside room a fantastic view. Don't miss the buffet breakfast before stepping out to explore." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. Excellent location, this is the oldest hotel in town which was upgraded to a high standard in 2013. Continental style breakfast with fantastic scrambled eggs and excellent coffee. We had the suite on the first floor with a small lounge with a television. At the front overlooking the water, which was excellent, clean and comfortable. Can't say anything about the standard rooms. The suite has a narrow balcony which is perfect for watching the activity of the boats on the canal.

Perfect location for seeing the sights of Aveiro. Rooms are small but well laid out. Very nice common areas and breakfast was good. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Nice little hotel. Rooms a bit small but cozy. Bathroom efficient but tap arrangement is poor on the sink leading to lots of water on the sink surround. Staff excellent and every likes the breakfast. Couldn't be better located

We did not get the category of room we had ordered. Our room was still not ready when we got in so they gave a lower standard with some BS comments from the front desk staff Telephone in the room was not working. WiFi was a disaster. Toilet was leaking. Room was noisy and windows were aged ! how can they pretend to be a « palace »? My foot ! Tourist trap. Stay away.

The hotel has been improved and now it is modern and very comfortable. The staff is very kind and the breakfast is excellent. I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 only because I have considered the cost a little higher than expected, given the size of the rooms.

While I did not stay at this property, I did ask to use the restroom and was promptly turned away. Not my definition of hospitality. Perhaps others would like to know this prior to choosing one of many hotels in the town.

Very disappointing room for a 4 star hotel and high priced junior suite. Scruffy furniture and noisy air conditioning. Tiny bathroom. No sockets for kettle and phone. Had to take TV plug out. View is of a very busy and noisy roundabout which is not apparent from the hotel website

The Turim Aveiro Palace Hotel is located in the centre of Aveiro with lovely river views. The hotel is nicely maintained and the rooms are both clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly, caring and professional. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of quality foods. Very enjoyable.
