AXA Hotel, a Design Boutique Hotel Prague, Czech Republic

"Re-opened in June 2014 after an extensive renovation, 3-star AXA Hotel was built in the early 1930s in a Functionalist style in a central Prague location 1,100 metres from Wenceslas Square. Free WiFi is available, and for surcharge, guests can use a swimming pool, sauna, fitness centre, and sun bed. The modern and bright rooms at Hotel AXA come with a flat-screen satellite TV, a seating area, and a bathroom. Bílá Labuť Tram Stop is only steps away, the Florenc Bus Station is 300 metres away, and the Palladium Shopping Centre is 400 metres away. It is 450 metres to the Masarykovo Train Station and 1 km to Prague Main Train Station. Prague Airport is 11 km away, with transfers available at an additional cost. In 2014 the building was declared a cultural monument by the Czech Ministry of Culture." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

My family and I visited Prag recently and I am glad I made a good choice. Hotel AXA is centrally located just one stop from the main train station with line C. Service is great from the time you arrive at the reception to when you leave. Tasty buffet breakfast ( I loved the cake and salads) Rooms are so spacious and clean with air conditioning ( we was there in this Sommer). Highly recommended and I would advice booking direct with from the hotel website.

Solid hotel for a short city trip. Everything was clean and well-kept. My personal highlight was the gym with plenty of machines. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance and you can get to all tourist attractions by foot or public transport.

The hotel has a lot of necessities like a free gym and a swimming pool that costs 4 euros per hour. There are two things that I didn’t really like which are that un the room there is only one pillow and it is to big and to soft that your head touches the mattress, and the other not so good thing is that there is no toilet in the whole hotel only in the rooms so if you want to go to the toilet you have to go back to your room. Overall the hotel is pretty good.

The hottest rooms with no air conditioning and only a cheap fan. The people that works at night doesn’t help you or assist you in some doubts related with the city or a taxi. The food is great but if you’re looking for a good sauna you can come here and also try the famous Czech’ tourist bad treatment

The rooms were clean, check-in was quick, and the staff spoke English, were polite, and we found them to be very helpful. The only thing was you had to pay for towels for the pool and entry to the pool. The restaurant was open for breakfast only, but there is a good variety of restaurants in close proximity to the hotel.

DO NOT GO HERE! Came to this hotel for a trip and it was awful. First off, the staff were incredibly rude and unfriendly especially the night staff. 2 of the rooms that we had booked was infested with ants and staff did not care until we begged to move. The staff did not apologise for the ant infested rooms and acted really annoyed at us that we wanted to move. If you want to sleep with ants feel free to go here. The breakfast is very limited and not that great but that might just be my taste buds. Other individuals on the trip with me didn’t receive hair towels and reception decided to argue and say that you don’t receive hair towels even though everyone else did. You have to be quiet from 10pm till 6am which was a bit nothing but fair enough. I would not recommend anyone to go here as staff are rude, rooms are unclean and infested with ants.

We were extremely disappointed to find mouse droppings in our room (room 405) on the last morning of our stay. The night before, we had already heard strange noises which we initially thought were from the ventilation system, but turned out to be rodent activity. We reported the issue to the receptionist, but there was no manager available. We also sent a formal email to the hotel with photo evidence, but received no reply at all, which made the experience even more frustrating. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel and shows a serious lack of hygiene and customer service.

The room has no air-conditioning or heating so we have to keep the window wide open. The problem is there is no lock system on the window so we have to sleep with the windows open otherwise it’s suffocating in the room. Czech as per reception is generally safe but cant guarantee 100% safety since the room we got was on the first floor and there is some sort of ledge outside the window where anyone can just walk past our room so we have to improvise a lock else we either sleep with windows close or it being wide open for anyone.
