Very average hotel with less than average breakfast and even worse service.
I chose this hotel especially for the amenities (swimming pool and gym) but it’s important to note that neither of these are included in the price, they are extra and act as a “leisure centre” for locals. The front desk staff were very rude telling me that massages cannot be booked with them as they are different company. The pool/massage front desk were super rude and never told us that payment was only by cash, so I went to the hotels reception and asked if I could pay a value by card so he could give me that in cash for me to pay the massage and the tall blonde/ginger man replied very rudely and cutting me off that “it’s a different company”, he didn’t even listen to what I had asked and when I mentioned they only take cash he shrugged his shoulders at me and didn’t offer any other alternative. I UNDERSTAND THE GYM AND POOL ARE OPERATED BY ANOTHER COMPANY, but it’s still inside your hotel and the lack of information and communication affects the reputation of AXA hotel. All these places made us feel like tourists are not welcome there and they only care for locals. Having said that the swimming pool only takes cash, the gym accepts card… how does that make sense? I don’t know, it’s a lack of consistency throughout. Also there are no water fountains at the gym.
Breakfast was disappointing with very little options and some of the driest cakes I’ve ever eaten! I regretted choosing this hotel on the first day.
Having said all that, the positive notes were cleaning of the room and location. I would not return to this hotel nor recommend to anyone else.
