The room was very nice, clean, quiet and comfortable... however the bathroom was not to the standard of a 4* hotel..the plug did not fit the bath do the water would not stay in and drained out quickly. The shower hardly worked and the jacuzzi jets did not work..also there was a large crack across the ceiling in the bedroom

Location is fantastic, practically in the middle of the centre. Check-in staff efficient and smiling. Room nice, spacious, only water in the fridge - but free. Breakfast very good, maybe except scrambled eggs. You could also order some sausages and other egg-based dishes, but it takes a while. Very good coffee and nice views from the breakfast place - it's on the 9th floor. There is this distinct smell of dust when entering the hotel - and gets worse in the upstairs corridors. In many places, the hotel seems tired, worn-out carpets with stains in many places, tired walls, doors, stuff like that. One of the elevators (C) probably needs maintenance, as it vibrates loudly passing floors 3-4. The bathroom: my bet is, whoever designed it, never tried to use it. The way the shower is built makes the water to spill over half of the floor and it has nowhere to go, so you end up having a lake there.

Nice hotel and staff. 208 rooms and I feel they all differ in quality. There are a few things that you should keep in mind. Beds are hard, so if you need another bed ask the reception. The water pressure in the shower is weak. Air conditioning works very well and the rooms are spacious. We stayed in 215 and 811, the beds were a lot softer in 811. Floors in the bathroom are slippery. Breakfast is very good, but there are a lot of places around where you can get coffee and breakfast. So not really necessary. All in all nice staff, very clean, but certain rooms are outdated.

The staff was friendly and some of the food from room service (which is rare to even have room service in this area) was pretty good. The rooms on the other hand are quite small. I don't mind a small room but if one ever had work to do and needs a place to use a laptop, this is not the spot. Maybe other rooms have desks or a chair that would fit in front of a table. Room 627 does not. Internet speed is actually quite good. Like most hotels in the area the water pressure is not great and shower can be a messy experience with water on floor. Otherwise it's okay for the price IF the price is below 100 euro per night only.

4 star staff, 1 star facilities. The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful but the facilities are worn down for years. The ceiling in the bathroom of my room had several small holes where drops of water (probably from the AC) came through - I'm not joking. The surroundings of the holes turned yellow already which must mean that it had to be like this for at least a couple of days if not longer. In general the condition of the bathroom wouldn't even be appropriate for a low budget hotel. The room as well as the hotel itself had seen better days. I cannot recommend this hotel for the rates they charge.

Google
“Great location, great staff and great value” Very nice hotel, staff very helpful and very polite, breakfast was excellent and great views from the restaurant. This hotel is very conveniently located near lots of shops and restaurants, tapas bars are just around the corner and the hop on hop off bus is about 5 minutes walk away. I really enjoyed my stay here, it was thoroughly recommended to me and I have no hesitation by doing the same for you. Oh by the way they gave us a complimentary cocktail, nice touch.

Google
Wonderful hotel, very nice room with quality furniture and comfortable bed. The breakfast is delicious, there is plenty of food for all tastes and the breakfast room is at the 9th floor with a nice view on the city buildings. The reason for the 3 stars is that unfortunately on the first morning of our stay we found an awful cockroach in the bathroom. The staff at the reception apologized for the inconvenience, but things like this should just not happen in a 4 stars hotel.

I would dispute that this is a four-star hotel (rating as provided by Expedia). Whilst the hotel lobby, restaurant and bar are pleasant (and the quality of the food very good), the rooms are below standard and the staff do not have customer service as their ultimate priority. The room we stayed in had a huge visible hole behind the bed, stains on the walls and the most noisy bathroom I have ever experienced. Reception didn't answer the phone, housekeeping didn't attend the room promptly. This hotel needs to be reclassified as a 3-star at best. From what I saw the hotel is more interested in business clients and day conferences. Disappointing.

Yelp
I'm not sure about the good reviews. I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt- but... There are cockroaches, and major gross stains in the hallways. Our tub had large areas where the grout was gone. The room was not particularly clean (someone else's hair was on the floor behind the bathroom door.) And for 13 euros, I didn't think the breakfast was very good. On our last day, I tried to eat some, but ended up leaving it- and the coffee was not great. The orange juice was good- I'll give them that. Literally every where we ate was better (with the Hotel Catalunya being the best)We were coming from Madrid (before going to Barcelona)- so maybe our standards were too high, but our room was just sad. On top of the damage already mentioned there were stains on the chair, dirt marks and LOTS of nicks in the walls and on the wood furniture and there were uncomfortable twin beds- plus the blankets look like they are about 20 years old (you know that matted look blankets get?) Also, one of the two cards they gave us did not work. If I come back to Valencia, and I hope I don't have to, I would not stay here. We saw some other hotels- and went in to check a couple out. I would definitely look elsewhere. Trying to be positive, the staff is very nice and the courtyard outside is lovely. There are lots of places to eat around this area (but there are also other, nicer, places to stay!) Everyone in our group complained about this hotel. Everyone. I don't believe I met anyone who was satisfied. Maybe it used to be better- but I'd avoid this hotel and book something cleaner and more modern.

Yelp
Ayre Hotel Astoria Palace, I cannot wait to see you again. You're NEAR everything in Valencia that my mother and I wanted to see. Clean, spacious rooms. Excellent service. Centrally located. What more could one ask for? The price is very fair for this hotel. We received a complimentary water in our room. The accommodating staff held on to our luggage after we checked out, so we could continue to explore Valencia baggage-free! The hotel overlooks a small square with a fountain; there was live music during dinner each night out there. Quite enjoyable! Unfortunately, our room didn't overlook the square, but that was fine by me. Everything else was excellent!

Yelp
The breakfast is decent, and it's located on the 9th floor to let in a nice view of Valencia and natural sunlight. There aren't many hot food options, though, and the coffee could be better. The lobby looked very nice, but once in the room, things were very disappointing! There wasn't an iron for our clothes, and there wasn't a coffee machine or water kettle. The bathroom did not feel clean, and some of our towels had stains. The pillows didn't fresh either. The only real benefit to this hotel is the walking distance to the main square, shops, and other tourist attractions.

Yelp
The hotel was sentenced by my co workers inn Spain due to its location. Overall, hotel was decent. TV channel selection was horrible for visiting American and cost of internet seemed excessive. Location, location, location was great. Walk to shopping, eating and site seeing. Oh, breakfast was the best! Coffee was the best I've had in years.

Yelp
I just loved my stay in this hotel. The staff was terrific, friendly and helpful. It's located on a quiet plaza, with a fountain, trees and cozy cafe. The location is perfect, central, and in easy walking distance everywhere! I had a large junior suite with a terrace (for the amazing price of 150 Euros/day including all taxes) that was quite comfy and bright. I'd certainly stay here again if I'm in Valencia. I checked out many of the other 4 star hotels, and even the three 5-star places, and I prefer the cozy comfort and warm reception of the Ayre Hotel Astoria Palace (to the colder luxury and out-of-the-way locations of the others).

Yelp
Several hours after checking in I have been told that there is no air-conditioning and it is 80° outside. The manager is no longer on the premises and the front desk has no room fans. I would think very carefully before booking a room at this hotel, especially if there is no management on site in the evening hours in order to provide service.
