This hotel perfectly balances the old world charm of a historical building with modern amenities and high-end service. Even just walking in from the taxi, the service greeting us and taking our bags into the lovely perfectly decorated lobby where we checked in, immediately put me at ease. The room was again the absolutely perfect balance of historical charm and modern needs. It has all of the old doors, flooring, and ceilings, with modern restrooms and showers, electrical outlets, TV, lighting, and very comfy bed. We attended their 4pm tea time in their lobby by accident (we were coming downstairs to start walking around town, and saw it, so we decided to check it out). Very much worth the time to attend. So calming, wonderful food bites, lovely atmosphere.. Their breakfast was not the largest array of food we've had on this trip at a hotel, it was actually on the narrow side. But we ordered from their menu as well and everything we ate was excellent. We both rated the breakfast very high. Great waitstaff as well. The location is also fantastic, centrally located within the tourist area, just a wonderful area to walk around. If I had to knock anything, it's something that's just woven in to the fabric of staying here, which is that this is an older building in the heart of a city district. It's noisy outside, and this building, even with another pane of newer windows, is not entirely quiet at night. On the night we stayed, there was a very loud funeral procession at like 10pm. So you just need to know it may not be entirely quiet. You're not in the middle of nowhere, and you're not 30 floors up in a brand new hotel. This place may come with some city background noise. I didn't mind it, since I've lived in cities. My husband wanted it to be more quiet. So just adjust your needs accordingly. This place is definitely worth staying at.
