Hotel Bad Schörgau (Sarentino, Alps / Dolomites) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Situated on the grounds of a rural bathhouse whose origins date back to the 16th century, the Hotel Bad Schörgau is a luxury hotel and spa that preserves the traditions of rural bathing culture alongside a thoroughly contemporary approach to style and comfort. Guests choose from the minimalist, clean interiors of the main house and the modern Alpine design of the Wood Hotel, built in 2002. The spa offers an enormous range of treatments, including floating baths and jet treatments using water from the hotel’s own spring. Diners, meanwhile, are spoiled for choice, from the Michelin-starred Restaurant Alpes, which offers avant-garde approaches to authentic Tyrolean cuisine, to La Fuga, a “laboratory of future gastronomy,” offering a truly unique menu." - Tablet Hotels

We absolutely loved our experience at this wonderful hotel. My wife and I have traveled extensively throughout the world and this has to be one of our favourite stays. The food was top notch, the location picturesque, service levels beyond expectation, and one of the most beautifully designed hotels we've come across. Beyond that, my wife had the best massage ever. We will certainly visit again

The hotel has a beautiful mixture of modern and alpine style and feels very comfortable. The service is simply excellent - everyone is very attentive and friendly! For my birthday, we made a reservation in the "Stube" and we were both so impressed by the 4 course meal we had there. We are "foodies" and treat ourselves to nice restaurants for special celebrations - so we have had our fair share of Michelin and Gault Millau meals and I can honestly say that hands down, this was one of the best meals we have ever had! Compliments to the chef, indeed! The theme of the menu flowed with the theme of the room, the food was simply outstanding, the presentation was so creative (really impressive) and the wine list really wonderful. We look forward to going back to this place in the near future! The only regret I have is that we used a popular internet booking website to book the room, thinking it was cheaper. My tip is to book directly through the hotel. Apparently they run specials/offers on a regular basis (package deals, so to speak) and unfortunately I think we ended up with the only outdated/old room in the house which perhaps was just linked to having booked off of the his external website. The other rooms in their hotel are truly beautiful, most of them having a lovely view too! In any case, we were so busy exploring the area that it didn't matter so much, but it is always a nice treat to have a nice room ;)

While this hotel is a pretty spa hotel, with good food, guests should be aware that hotel pricing is a bit misleading. The listed price on major hotel sites seems reasonable, but is for only one person per room. If two people stay there, the price doubles. This is found in the details when you total your stay, but is not what I am accustomed to looking for this. Ultimately, I made the mistake of not looking close enough, plus I also booked a room for my son, who traveled alone but I booked for two when I thought two would be in his room. I never changed this and was charged for two despite them knowing only one stayed there.

Nice location. It was quiet when we went so we had the sauna rooms mainly to ourselves. There is a self service sauna and an automatic one. It was nice doing the self service sauna as you get to put the wood in yourself. There is another relax room beside the saunas which was nice and very relaxing. The spa has a lot of treatments and we were shown round the treatment rooms which are impressive. The staff are also excellent. You always know how good an establishment is like by their staff. Staff were cheerful and helpful. The room was good and the only criticism is I couldn’t control the temperature in it so slept with the window open which wasn’t bad as you got to smell the pine trees around. All in all would visit again.

I visited for a retreat and loved every detail about this place. The architecture, design and hospitality was top notch. The food is Michelin quality and very progressive. It’s unpretentious, delicious, elegant and elevated. The rooms a very comfortable, large and everything smells of fresh cut wood. And, the spa is world class; you can spend 5 days and never wish to be anywhere else. Worth the trip from anywhere. Trust me.

Initially undecided between a 4 and a 5 rating we opted for a "5" since we left the hotel feeling recharged and rejuvenated; exactly what we'd come looking for!||Positives: Romantic and warm --the Wenters have managed to create both a modern, natural and traditional feel to the hotel. Our room, located in the renovated area of the hotel, was clean and linear with a (relatively) unobstructed view of the beautiful mountains and woods behind it. The beds were always made up for us and the bathroom was also both modern and clean.||The newly updated wellness area is small but super relaxing and well-maintained. We really enjoyed our "Pine Bath" treatment in the old wooden tub and loved the small outdoor "sauna" cabin located next to the pool. You can use both in the wintertime and it truly gives you a sense of being immersed in nature. There was no hot tub but two indoor saunas and a small Kneipp center. The "relax" room, found in a newly built glass and wooden addition to the hotel, was just that...fresh and peaceful.||The Sarentino/Sarntal Valley is a real find. We've traveled to many beautiful areas in Alto Adige but this is perhaps the most uncontaminated one that we've yet visited. Driving only five to fifteen minutes from the hotel you will find countless beautiful hikes for all levels, a ski area (with a special slope where you can sled down the mountainside!), a skating rink, a comunal pool, tiny villages perched over small lakes, etc. The "major" town of the valley is at only 2 chilometers from the hotel and you'll find that it has most necessary services and shopping as well as a couple good local restaurants. You can easily walk there following a path running alongside the river or you can drive.||The hotel offers three possibilities for dinner: the veranda (their Bistro), the Stube (a very good multi-course meal with a reasonable price-tag) and the Alpes Restaurant (where you will eat divinely but with city price-tags; michelin rated). Breakfast (included) was also excellent with homemade breads, fine cheeses, jams, eggs made upon request...||The Wenter family was very kind and helped us to plan our three days in the valley. They even went so far as to surprise us with a birthday candle at the breakfast table (unfortunately, we came down too late and missed it... but it's the thought that counts:)).||The hotel really gives you a sense of peace and allows to to "get away from it all." It's also easy to get to from Bolzan, which is a real plus. I would strongly recommend this hotel for couples looking to escape and for families with older children (or newborns).||Minor Details: The room could use a frigobar for longer stays as well as wireless access (although I realize it's contrary to their "escape" philosophy). Also, I'm not sure if it's possible to lunch at the hotel although I would imagine that they'd be willing to something for you if necessary...||Last considerations: the hotel is a bit "hidden away", which can be seen as both a pro and a con, depending on what you're looking for.||Also, if you're traveling with toddlers (ours stayed home this trip!), don't expect to find a full-service resort hotel. The comunal spaces allotted to young children are quite limited.

after spending a lot of time researching tripadvisor looking for a nice hotel we decided to give Hotel Bad Schoergau a try. It exceeded our expectations. This is a smaller hotel, which we like, it feels like a larger version of home. It is very relaxing, the food is excellent and the owners are very friendly. The wood fired Hot tubs and saunas, the spa, the pool, the relaxation area, all of it was wonderful. We hope to go again soon!

We hosted a Pilates Retreat this past September and I cannot say enough good words about how fantastic absolutely everything was. Gregor, Carolin, and Mattia truly truly cared about the happiness of every single guest (we had booked the property exclusively). We felt like their old friends within hours of arriving and they provided a level of care and service and really true heartfelt hospitality that exceeded every expectation. Bad Schorgau is somewhere I will return time and time again - in fact we have booked 2 more retreats there already in 2020!!!! Nothing but love for this place and their team!!!
