stayed at the Hotel Bahnhof for the 2nd time and enjoyed it very much. Location is absolutely great, the commun kitchen is very useful and the staff is just awesome and very helpful. Everything was very clean and maintained. Price /value can't be any better in Zermatt.

You just cannot get a better location than this hotel. Right opposite to the.railway station and next to bus stop and gornagraut railway station. This is place is literally ski in/out. The rooms are clean and even shared washrooms and kitchen are maintained really well. There's no lift if you have to climb to 3 rd floor and that's only issue if you have carry luggage. Otherwise it's a gem of place in Zermatt.

We really enjoyed our stay at this centrally located, hostel-style hotel. It’s simple yet very cozy, and best of all, it’s close to absolutely everything. The train station is less than a minute away, the main street and bus station are right next door, and the train to Gornergrat departs also next door. It was also basically the only option in Zermatt that seemed like a good value for money and it also proved that it is! We would definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed here for an extended period and unfortunately experienced a persistent bedbug issue. Despite multiple treatments and being moved seven times between rooms and temporary accommodations, the problem was not resolved, and bites continued to occur. The situation was distressing and disruptive. While initial treatments were attempted, the infestation was not eliminated. The on-site manager, Aggie, became dismissive ("maybe you're allergic to the bedsheets") and quite rude, and appeared frustrated with me for raising ongoing concerns rather than addressing the unresolved issue. Temporary alternative accommodations were arranged, including a brief stay at another hotel. When those options were no longer available, I was told the bedbug issue had resolved on its own (despite no additional treatment) and was expected to return to the original room, with no compensation or alternative offered for the remaining paid-for period. Because I could not safely return, I was forced to secure other travel and accommodations at significant personal expense. The approach taken to determine whether rooms were “bedbug-free” appeared to rely on having someone (known not to be sensitive to bedbugs) sleep in the room for a night and declaring it resolved if no bites were immediately noticed. As some people don't react to bites, this method is unreliable and contributed to the ongoing problem. Moving guests repeatedly between rooms during an active infestation also increases the risk of spreading bedbugs, which is what appeared to have occurred as the infestation spread. During the same time, other rooms at the Bahnhof were also affected. When I refused to return, another guest with bedbug issues was placed in my original room and experienced significant bites, further demonstrating that the infestation had not been resolved. Given the ongoing issue and the unprofessional handling of the situation, I would strongly caution against staying here.

Hotel Bahnhof exceeded my expectations from the moment i stepped out of the Zermatt station - it was just across the street and so central that you were right on the shopping street and the goats passed it in the morn and afternoon on their trek to the mountains. |I stayed in the hostel portion in a women’s room with 4 sets of bunk beds and I was very happy with my bottom bunk by the window, which had the illusion of privacy and cool air from the window. The facilities are very clean and well maintained, and the kitchen fully equipped for major cooking or in my case, microwave food and kettle for tea. There seemed to be enough showers and toilets to go around and the coin operated washer/dryer was a welcome luxury that other hotels i stayed at didn’t seem to have. The desk clerks were nice and helpful. Overall, it was a great stay.

This hotel/hostel is conveniently located next to the train station and the downtown area of Zermatt! Rooms were comfortable, staff was helpful and friendly! Had a beautiful view of town and the Matterhorn from our third floor balcony!! Would definitely stay here again!

This hostel is excellently located in the town centre right next to the train station and it has beautiful views of the town below and the Matterhorn from its balconies. The dorms were clean and cosy and the beds were comfy too. Towels are provided and the showers and toilets are all clean and function well. I did not use the kitchen or living areas but they looked nice and well equipped. The reception area also had lots of handy maps for the hiking trails and leaflets for activities. I recommend this place to everyone.

Google
The best hostel I’ve stayed at during my stay in Switzerland. Thank you so much for such a lovely place. The dorms were extremely spacious and some fairly private. Perfect location right across from the station. The Gorgergrat is right next door. Check in was perfect and staff were really friendly and helpful. Has laundry services for 2chf per cycle. Bathrooms were spacious. Can’t fault it. Highly recommended. Perfect spot’

Yelp
This place is an institution for mountaineers. It is very basic (no frills) but clean & affordable in this otherwise expensive ski resort. Literally steps away from the railway station, Gornergrat station and eBus stop; less than 10 minute walk to the Sunnegga station. Speaking of no frills - towel rental and bed liners are CHF 5, each. Communal kitchen is spotless (besides cleaning lady, courteous guests clean up behind themselves) and unbelievably well-equipped - fondue pots & lamps, raclette oven, stove top coffee makers, silverware, pots, pans, dishes, etc. Plenty of refrigerator space, washer & dryer on site and strong wifi signal were greatly appreciated. The staff really helped me out on a couple of issues - I really thank Katerina for going way beyond the call of duty on an issue (nothing to do with the hotel) that came up. For what it's worth - a couple of hints: * brochure racks in the lobbies of "luxury" hotels have 15% discount coupons for ski rentals (unfortunately the Hotel Bahnhof didn't have any of these around). * Denner discount, which is on the other side of the street, about 200 meters in the opposite direction of the Matterhorn has the lowest prices on groceries and booze.

Yelp
This is a decent hostel type hotel with various priced rooms. It is popular with climbers, there are lockers to put your items in, a kitchen and many bathrooms and showers which are shared. There are different options for sleeping. Either a private room with an ensuite, a private room and shared bathroom, a dorm room which sleeps about 20 people in bunk beds or the random attic which is literally a floor covered in mattresses don't roll over in the night as you might find yourself asleep next to a random bloke!!! Pleasant experience, flexible with dates, we booked when we arrived for a couple of night as we wanted a break from camping. Beautiful location would LOVE to go back there
