Hotel Balajú

Went for a weekend with my dad. There was no hot water, the safe didn’t work, we have breakfast included and we only get 5 melon slices and a coffee. When we spoke with the receptionist they answered on a rude way. Never coming back.

The hotel was great. Very friendly staff. We got in late and asked for a room overlooking the ocean and got it. The ac is super cold and quiet. There was good water pressure and water temperature. Wifi was fast. Their american breakfast buffet didn't really have anything American on it but was still delicious and had great variety.

Very nice and clean hotel. Decent restaurant offering a breakfast buffet. The rooms facing the water are the best, the ones at the rear have a depressing view of inner Veracruz. The A/C is quiet, the TV has the option to play English tracks. I would have gave 5 stars but the employees at the front desk are less then helpful. It pays to tip your bellhop well. He was able to get us a ocean view room when the desk said no rooms on that side were available. This was the second time staying here. Both times the bellhops were a godsend and extremely helpful. They ensure I will return again.

They cleaned the rooms really well and all the staff was nice and helpful!! The view from the rooms was very nice also. The food was great as well!! Had breakfast here every morning and sometimes would try the buffet on the weekends. I stayed here for 10 days and everyday was wonderful, I really recommend this place to anyone !

The hotel was in general clean and the personnel friendly - as long as you speak Spanish. My room came with 2 beds, even though I paid for only one. The service was good for room service. It is considered well-regarded if you leave some tips ($20-40) in your room for the cleaning ladies after more than 1 night. Only drawbacks, my room (2nd floor) was located next to the air-conditioning unit on a roof and could sound quite noisy until late at night ~10-11pm. The swimming was a nice add-on to that hotel even though it was located close to the main street.

The location is good, right on the coast and very close to the aquarium which definitely worths a visit. The room is basic, but clean and comfortable enough. We stayed here for 5 nights just because we needed a break from the long-term road trip. There are restaurants around in walking distance. But since the safety was still an issue there, we did not feel completely safe while walking around. Servie was all right, not outstanding, not bad either. Wifi in the room was good enough (not US standard though). Also because a navy school is right across the hotel, we could hear the loud noise the students made in the early morning.

Average When we arrived we thought that the location of the hotel was worth its over-the average cost. It’s definitely a good sea view, and if you are a fan of early wake up calls, you will definitely love the trumpet playing early in the morning to wake up the cadets at the military college right in front of the hotel. The bed linen was dirty. One white towel had a big non-white spot on it. If you finish your small courtesy water bottle and try to get another one, you might not find any at vending machine. Even at night, the hotel staff will direct you to walk to a grocery shop about a couple of blocks far. At the restaurant, the friendly waiters will make sure you understand that your free continental “breakfast” only includes a plate of fruits, ONE glass of orange juice, only ONE piece of bread, and only ONE cup of tea or coffee without a chance for a refill. However, they would generously tell you that you could opt for the buffet, paying its full cost without any discount in exchange for the free breakfast coupon.

Rented 2 rooms together mother is disabled, needed rooms together, hotel could not provide what we paid for 1.Broken air-conditioning, no cold air, room stays at 27c /81 f Other room is ok if the curtains are closed all the time 2.Dead bolt not working well on mom's door 3.wifi working sometime. 4.safe not working probably dead battery,used safe in other room. Evening desk staff said manger would come,no manager yet day 2 Will not stay again Not recommend
