Our service was absolutely dismal. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a hotel representative that was inebriated, as the town was celebrating Halloween. ||We presented copies of our Colombia issued IDs, and foreign passport for a family friend (with a copy of the immigration check that Colombia requires prior to entry). The representative refused to accept the copies of our friend’s foreign passport. Upon his refusal to accept the documents, we asked to cancel our reservation and a refund. He denied.||||We brought in the police for assistance, one of the agents was the town’s authority on immigration and tourism policies. The police officer confirmed that our friend’s documentation was valid and demanded that we be provided with out room. However, the representative constantly challenged his authority. ||||We explained to the police that we no longer wanted to stay in this hotel as we no longer felt safe, and we wanted our money returned. The police insisted that he give us a refund, but he continued to refuse. At this time, a lieutenant detected alcohol smells emanating from the representative and proceeded to question him, where he admitted to having drank several alcoholic drinks. He also failed to provide his Colombian identification upon request from the police, as he did nit have it with him. ||||The police officers continued to ask for a refund, and it was not until the owner was going to be called, that he provided us with the money. ||||The police officers assisted us in finding a new place to stay - Hotel Valdivia. We highly recommend everyone to stay at Hotel Valdivia, it has beautiful accommodations and the service was wonderful.
