Google
Booked here for location to train station only but this hotel is very very expensive we only learnt when we arrived how many other hotels are much closer than we thought, oh well next time!!! we did book a stratosphere room with breakfast and late 4pm check out seems straight forward but the following is a litany of disappointments. Firstly good luck finding the entrance to the hotel, the major works on and around every side of the station make this very confusing and very difficult to see, so when you find this tired after your travels, flight or train you then get to reception which always has queues , then a complex check in follow of multiple id requirements and forensic examination of what you know you have already paid for, my advice to them is streamline your processes and invoices also, tedious and frustrating and a test of your patience. We did not like the space theme that was our problem we thought the whole place looked stupid and childish. The lobby feels like a huge starbucks with people on laptops and devices and gaming really is this a hotel??? Where was the feel of Spain , its very clinical, like a hospital all white everywhere, bland no personality again where is beautiful Catalonia. The room was on a high floor excellent views over the city, we had a kettle /coffee maker good, english tv channels excellent and bed comfortable and aircon all good.lovely toileteries in bathroom and great hot water. The shower is a prefab plastic like a cruise ship weird !!!! The room again is all white like a hospital ward , no ambience feels very budget because there is no attempt to create a lux stay its just white plastics / cold . Feels like a bad IBIS hotel . Breakfast in the photos looks like a huge restaurant well set up but in reality its like a huge white room with rows and rows of white plastic chairs and tables like a cafeteria/conference room/ mess hall, no ambience . no comfort, no space to enjoy but you are elbow to elbow with other diners, we were looking forward to this but in reality the huge buffet was actually repeats of breakfast food in multiple locations for example, pastries were in 3 places, breads and cheeses 2 locations etc so not as much choice, quality not the best and embarrassingly for a spanish breakfast offering at a hotel that charges alot. the staffer making eggs was swamped so join the queue and make sure not to bet bullied by the locals of all age groups. Not a nice place to start the day. But to cap it all off a notice was in the room advising that there would be a power outage at 1am for 3 hours on the 4th december, not happy, so if you need the lift no go in a spanish hotel I dont think so, what about safety ???, or how about your right to stay up late and watch tv or make a cuppa - this is the hotels problem not the guests no reason was given only maintenance which could mean all sorts of things , i challenged this as the notice was incorrect it should have said the 5th december so they had no idea what day they were talking about- as we say in Australia could not run a chook raffle!!!! Good luck

This hotel is amazing, we were so lucky to get a Vip upgrade and had an excellent experience. The room is clean, tidy and well organised, the city view is fantastic. The space themed hotel is funny and uplifting. The real highlight though was the breakfast where there is everything you could wish for, from cold meat to croissants, sweets, hot churros, bread, fruit and more, and everything is of the highest quality. I even had muesli and soy joghurt, which is not common to be found. Honestly the best breakfast we have ever had.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Service from Receptionist Pablo I would like to sincerely commend Pablo at the front desk for his exceptional service during my stay at Barceló Santa Hotel. I had an issue with the room air conditioning, which remained cold throughout the day even though I had set it to 32°C. When I informed Pablo, he immediately contacted maintenance and ensured that the heating option was enabled from the main system. The issue was resolved efficiently, and I truly appreciated how promptly he handled it. In addition, I experienced difficulties with an Uber Eats delivery — I was unable to call or message either the delivery driver or the restaurant. Pablo kindly offered to help without hesitation and clearly stated that there would be no cost at all. He took the initiative to make the calls on my behalf and followed up until the delivery arrived. As soon as the delivery person came, Pablo immediately called my room to inform me. Pablo is a very proactive and professional young gentleman — well-presented, genuinely caring, and truly eager to assist hotel guests. His attitude was refreshing and reassuring, showing real hospitality rather than a “not my problem” approach. He is an excellent problem solver and a true asset to the hotel. Thank you, Pablo, for your outstanding support and follow-up.

Google
Excellent location above the Barceló Sants train station. Very quiet room with a really comfortable, huge bed with separate duvets (fantastic). Very well equipped including kettle and bed tables.||The shower/huge bath was instantly hot and had 3 options. The washbasin is visible from the room which was fine for us but might be an issue for couples that didn’t know each other well!

Google
Barcelo Sants Hotel has an unbeatable location with excellent transport connections. The facilities are modern and well‑maintained, truly deserving its four stars. Right next to the hotel, we discovered a hidden gem: Bar Restaurant Phi (品宜). The menu is extensive, the food delicious and reasonably priced, and the family who runs it is exceptionally warm and welcoming. On their usual closing day, they even came back from home just to cook for us—a gesture we will never forget. For us, this was not only the best Chinese restaurant in Barcelona, but also the best we experienced during more than twenty days in Spain. Highly recommended! FYI - Bar Restaurant Phi (品宜) Carrer del Vallespir, 13, Sants-Montjuïc, 08014 Barcelona, Spain Menu: quecarta.com

Very conveniently located with easy access to all public transport. The hotel is clean and has a modern feel. The staff is friendly and helpful. I asked for a double bed, but got two single beds. We didnt try the restaurants or bars, but we are very happy with our stay.

My parents and I passed through Barcelona for one night. They were going for a cruise, and I was going to move to a different location after they left. My dad has limited mobility, and as we were coming in by train, this hotel was perfect. This hotel is also on the metro line that takes you to Sagrada Família, and another to the Gothic Quarter. It is also close to the bus tour stops. The room is comfortable, the bathroom is well designed, and the staff are extremely helpful. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the space theme in the lobby. Not to say it was bad, just not my thing. But I did like the way they incorporated it into the room decor.

Google
This space odyssey theme hotel is super neat and spacious. The room is new and bright. The staff team is friendly and the location is highly convenient just across the train station. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Customer Service is Terrible! I had to cancel my upcoming booking in July 2025 for December 2025 due to the illness of my grandmother. They did not want to provide a refund even though I was willing to provide documentation as proof. I understand policies, but also show some humanity and empathy. Should not be so inflexible under extenuating circumstances. I will not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This is our sixth hotel on our western Mediterranean tour this summer and its location is very convenient, being right at the train station, however, it is a bit further from the city center. Reception was friendly and efficient and our room on the third floor was mostly quiet with the bulk of the noise coming from the other guests slamming doors and cleaning staff in the hallways. The room was very comfortable, cool and dark at night. Beds were very comfortable, pillows were ample and varied and the bathroom/shower was larger than most. That being said, the dual sinks were outside of the bathroom so there is no way to use them without lighting up the whole room and waking your partner... small inconvenience. The sink on the right in our room was completely plugged and unusable. Staff was informed. There were some dark lines in the corners and grout lines of the bathroom, maybe mold? Mostly minor. The included iron and ironing board were fabulously convenient. Thanks for those. Behind the sinks, on the bed side, is a bar fridge that never really got cold, and a cupboard with kettle and glasses and a bottle opener, nice. Overall, the room was one of the better rooms we have had. The Orbital Cafe was a welcome and fairly priced discovery, where we had our first meal and drink after having a long train ride and had checked into the hotel. Great staff and very friendly. The included breakfast buffet has been by far the most complete and varied buffet we have had the pleasure of partaking in. Of all the included breakfasts we have had, the variety and selection (they will even cook you omelets and eggs to your liking at an omelet station) are unsurpassed. So far, the best included breakfast. There is at this time some renovations/construction on going at the train station/hotel which made the entry to the hotel just a little trickier, but by no means does it impact your stay. We have really enjoyed our stay at Barcelo Sants and would very much recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

Yelp
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible hotel. We booked 4 nights the same day and accidentally put in the wrong month and when we showed up the basically told us very rude tough luck. An innocent mistake and they did not accommodate us. They had rooms and we were willing to pay more and they said no. Tough luck. Never ever will I stay here and I will spread this news.

Yelp
Stayed at Barcelo Santa hotel for a conference. Loved the Star Wars and Space Odyssey decor. Rooms are comfortable. Housekeeping did a nice job. Great views. Breakfast was included and had a nice variety. Conference rooms comfortable and well equipped. Loved their espresso stations. Excellent location and convenient to all trains and metro. Thank you for a nice stay!

Yelp
This hotel made me sick. BELIEVE EVERY BAD REVIEW. I wish I hadn't dismissed them. Stayed at this hotel in July 2024 based off of the rave reviews from another travel platform and I'm convinced that their high ratings and reviews are written by the employees or management themselves. We had to switch rooms THREE times due to MOLD. The first room had water damage that had probably been lingering for who knows how long. This room instantly exacerbated my allergies due to the mold and poor ventilation and very dusty vents, that I could not stop coughing! We also found mold in one of the glass cups on the bathroom counter and the shower floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all. I saw that someone back in June complained of the mold as well and it looks like it was never taken care of and has probably gotten worse to have spread to multiple rooms. Reception gave me a card to contact the hotel regarding the cleanliness and I've yet to receive any response (probably not even a real contact email). Also received an email to rate the hotel and got a bot response from the "guest experience manager" stating to contact her for a VIP experience in the future- 1) this is fake because my friend received the same exact email after her review of the room, and 2) of course they would send this to you because they know you won't be back. _____________ Breakfast buffet: 2/5 Cleanliness: 0/5 Check in: 0/5 (booked a king and was given 2 twins) Air conditioning: 0/5 (turned off in the middle of the night in the July heat wave) Room service: 1/5 (never received my order in the App so I had to call to remind them and the food was not great except for their fries)

Yelp
Great location for train travel. Literally on top of the station. Took us 3 minutes to walk out of hotel to baggage scan. Nice modern rooms. Not large but not as small as some. Excellent view. Water pressure on shower... AMAZING! Friendly staff. Would stay again.

Yelp
My experience was just awesome. Perfect location, an amazing design and a wonderful restaurant serving food until 1:00am (I had a big flight delay). It couldn't be better. From now, it is my business hotel here in Barcelona. Will repeat for sure.

G R.

Yelp
Located right above Barcelona's main train station, it is great for business and getting around. You can also walk 30 min and you are in Las Ramblas or the Gothic District. The hotel theme is space and spaceships. Not much of a cozy feeling. Modern, clean and bright rooms.

Yelp
Due to covid, we were unable to travel here as there is a travel ban currently on Americans entering Europe. Barceló Sants refuses to give us a refund. Very bad business on their part. Nobody could've predicted on a global pandemic happening. Do what's right and refund your customers. This is ridiculous. When I come back to Barcelona, I know where I WONT be staying. And I'll make sure to let my friends and family know about their bad business practices as well.

Yelp
I loved loved loved this place. The interior is a bit spacey with inspiration from rocketships, space stations and space suits. It is very different, I haven't seen something like that before, but I did like the concept and felt very comfterable. The hotel room where I stayed (3rd floor) had perfect clean sheets on the big bed, there was a big rain fall douche and a bath tub. I forgot my toothpaste but no worries - the hotel provided toothbrush, toothpaste, hygiene kit which was convenient. There was lots of clothing space, the view was awesome and the best part was: the hotel is located on top of the main train station so all public transportation is available: bus, taxis, trains and the sightseeing bus stops there on their route. It takes approximately half an hour walk to Plaça de Catalunya and 10 min walk from Placa d'Espanya, so that was also perfect. The hotel restaurant was also really good; the breakfast buffet covered everybody's needs. They had everything; fruit, cakes, pancakes, eggs, bacon, different cheeses, sausages etc etc etc.. The lunch was also very good - again; covered every bodies needs. I was there for a course, and this place is perfect for these kind of things. They had multiple meeting rooms and during the breaks the hotel provided and served us with coffee, fruit, cakes and snacks. Everything was properly served and the waiters were very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Perfect hotel to spend your vacation, styled clean and very good food. Strongly recommend this hotel for staying, it also placed close the metro and by few minutes you can arrive each place in Barcelona. Enjoy....

Yelp
I will give them this: the rooms were the clean and the shower was absolutely delicious. Here is what I didn't like: For one, they advertise a fitness center on their website. What they don't tell you on the website or in the hotel room information book is that the gym is privately owned despite being located IN the hotel (what?) and cost 10 euros (WHAT?). Secondly, we had a late checkout of 6pm. Throughout the course of the day, we had three maids waltz into our room unannouced, without knocking and without apologizing for doing so. We even called the front desk after the second time it happened and STILL, a 3rd person walked in. Let me repeat: without knocking and without saying a word/ Third, stay far, far away from the room service. Just don't even.

Yelp
The atmosphere is one of the best I've had in a hotel; regardless of where I've stayed. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms themselves are great as well. We decided to go for price and settled with a room that has two twin beds. I expected them to be smaller (I'm 6'3" and normally have issues with twin beds) but these were just the right length. I'm thoroughly impressed with the overall experience

Yelp
This place is "Outta Sight" Good - Convenient to Trains, Metro, taxis and buses with fabulous views. Outer space interior with excellent multilingual staff. Far out!! Bad - Access to the trains will be better when construction is completed. 95% done now. Description - Directly above the main Barcelona rail station with fabulous views

Heather W.

Yelp
Awesome hotel with a space ship theme that is both bizarro and delightful. Amazing shower head. Comfy bed. Clean as can be. Huge TV. Great views- some rooms have views of the Sangrada Familia. The hotel is literally on top of the train station and it's only a few stops to La Rambla. I had breakfast and lunch here. I am a vegetarian and there was enough to eat at both. Nothing to blow your socks off, but a pretty big and varied selection. We had a meeting here and I can also heartily recommend the meeting facilities and the coordinating staff. We ran them around and they did great. Bonus: the free wi-fi covers up to six devices at a time!

Daryl E.

Yelp
Pros; Good location at a main train station with buses and taxis. Good staff. Cons; Second story entrance. Poor signage in station and in front. Strange Space decor.Dark hallways. Very weak AC. No bathroom. Shower opens to room and makes it a steam room after showers. Lots of noise from other rooms. Instant coffee in rooms. Room cleaners start at 7:00 on Sundays.

Yelp
Returning from a Mediterranean cruise to Barcelona on July 1, 2018, we decided to stay 2 days in Barcelona but in a different neighborhood than La Rambla where we stayed before the cruise, just for diversity. We chose Barcelo Sants Hotel based on the description on Hotels.com and its high rating (4.4). We booked online on May 28, 2018. It was a regrettable mistake. The hotel is a big, sleek glass edifice built above a large and very busy fast trains station with connections to many cities in the EU. Its location provides obvious easy access to not only train transportation but also to buses (local, transfers, Hop-On Hop-Off) and taxis. The train station had many fast food restaurants including McDonald, cafes and shops making it very convenient for a coffee and small snack anytime. There were also many restaurants at walking distance of the hotel but for the price and/or quality most were not worth trying except for one, La Villa restaurant pizzeria. Otherwise, there was no other point of interests. The hotel's Orbital Bar was over-priced, the restaurant was deserted and might be for a good reason; we took a look and did not dare to try. The hotel interior has the theme of a space station or star ship. The design is modern, minimalistic, geared toward functionality hence cold and industrial. The facility was very clean. Considering the summer heat in Barcelona (temp. 23-26 C or 75-80's F) the lobby was comfortably cooled however the hallways and common areas on the floors were hot as if there was no air conditioning at all. Our room was cooler than the hallway but not cool and got very warm midday. The thermostat indicated that "auto cool" was set at 18 C (64 F) which certainly was neither true/correct nor energy efficient in the summer. The "auto heat" was also set at 18 C, that would be very energy efficient in the winter. Furthermore, the option to change the settings was disabled. Being both New Englanders and Floridians, we are very familiar with winter cold and summer heat, air-conditioned spaces, comfortable ambient temperatures and energy conservation. The large window was very nice, allowing natural light and a nice view, but the shade had to down to decrease the heat during midday. The bathroom facilities were nice, worked very well, especially the shower. However, the set up was not designed for privacy except for the toilet being enclosed. The bathroom set up was designed for a single occupant or for intimate multiple occupants. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Check-in at the desk where the actual human interaction occurred, was the most disappointing. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the desk persons, so I would have to call them Clerk #1 and Clerk #2. We arrived at the hotel around 09:00, we knew it was earlier than the check-in time. We showed our Hotel.com booking receipt to Clerk #1 and was told that check-in was at 14:00, no more, no less. We asked if we could leave our luggage in their hold area. She conferred with Clerk #2 then we proceeded to tag the luggage and put them away. I asked her where to go to catch the Hop-on Hop-off bus, showed her our tickets and she nicely gave me a bus map and pointed out the stops. Before 14:00 there was already a long line at check-in. Clerk #2 took care of me. Her verbal interaction and demeanor were minimalistic and borderline on rudeness. An AI/automated check-in would have been more polite, objective and efficient. Two incidents occurred during my encounter with her while she was taking care of my check-in, made me wonder if there was a personal issue on her part: first an Asian, English speaking gentleman cut through the line and asked for a parking ticket, she told him he had to make the queue; second a white Spanish speaking man cut the line and asked her for a favor to contact someone, she told him to write down the information and she made the call while taking care of my check-in. Once she completed my check-in, I asked her for information about restaurants, she told me I had to wait 10 minutes and she will speak to me about restaurants. Since we already paid in full when we booked, Express check-out was painless as all we had to do was drop the key cards in the box at the front desk. In summary, Barcelo Sants Hotel would be an excellent choice for the overnight/fly-by traveler needing a nice rest, a quick bite before another travel connection. It was not a place to linger. These are just plain facts of our experience, you be the judge.

Yelp
Excellent hotel to stay at. Perfect location right on top of the Sants Estacion. Rooms were clean and modern. Internet was great and is walking distance to plenty of good restaurants and shops. Was also very reasonably priced. Looking forward to staying there again.

Yelp
My wife and I recently had a wonderful trip to Barcelona scheduled followed by a 12-day cruise scheduled. I paid 399euros in advance to stay at the Barcelo' Sants and understood that there was a stated policy that says the payment was non-refundable. As a customer service author and consultant, my complaint is that a week before the trip, we had to cancel because one of my wife's brothers entered hospice and was expected to die (which he did) within weeks. I petitioned the hotel for a refund and got only copies of their refund policy emailed to me with the comment "you agreed to this policy when you booked the room." I understand the need for policies, but somehow a customer should be able to expect a property to work with them in unforeseen traumatic instances like this. This is a family-run international chain with properties in the Europe, the U.S. and other areas. They could have easily made an exception and refunded or at least offered a credit for a future stay. I told the representative that we planned to make the journey in the future. I certainly will not consider them as a source for a hotel (anywhere in the world) in the future and do not recommend them based on their lack of concern for their customers. Makes me wonder what service level I would receive if I had a problem on property during a stay.

Tim C.

Yelp
Awesome place to stay. I've never seen a hotel room that was more clean and impeccably detailed. Excellent location while in Barcelona. Had an early flight to catch the next morning and this hotel is right above the Sants train station. Can't get any easier than that. $130 for a night...not too bad...this place is incredible.
