Hotel Bären am Bundesplatz

This was one of several hotels in which we stayed on a recent, long trip around Europe and it was the best, hitting a sweet spot of location, comfort, and service. (That said, it was also the most expensive, but in this case, we got what we paid for.) Steps from Bern’s main train station and Parliament, there’s an abundance of attractions nearby and the staff are well-acquainted with them and so friendly in their approach. Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Breakfast was a great way to start the day with plentiful continental and hot options. The afternoon welcome drink and the special gift at departure are the cherries on top of what was already a lovely experience.

Exceptionally happy with the hotel. Feels like a family run place where they care you have a good experience. Plentiful and varied breakfast. Complimentary espresso+ machine. Well designed and very clean rooms. Pleasant staff. Close to station and to excellent farmer’s market. All very civilised and for a good price.

Loved the stay here. The rooms are spacious, warm and inviting with high ceiling. Amenities like coffee machine, warm towels in the washroom, and adjustable light brightness in the room are top notch. The staff is great and the reception has places to visit, and restaurants availability during holidays made me realize these folks truly go above in providing quality service to customers. Location wise you cannot get a better place as well. Overall 5* for everything.

Great hotel in the center of the city. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station to the hotel. Everything was walking distance. The staff walls very friendly and kind. The breakfast was good! We loved the daily free beverage. There was a super cute farmers market outside the hotel on Saturday. Would definitely stay there again!

Very nice hotel on an excellent location. Very friendly and helpfull staff, good rooms, a lot of choices for breakfast and the "Bären" theme through the hotel was adorable 😊 I can't think of anything I didn't like except the noisy street in front of the hotel. Apparently supply trucks and market stalls are busy there quite early in the morning. Obviously this is nothing the hotel can do anything about, they have isolating windows(when opened the noise is a lot worse) and even provide earplugs for the guests, which is very thoughtful. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to ask for a room not located on the street side. All in all a great hotel which I would certainly recommend!

Honestly, could not fault this hotel. Stayed for 1 night. Rooms and beds very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and again, staff were very friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay. The family room was spacious, featuring a connecting door in between. The staffs were friendly and it was just 7 mins walk to the train station. They even gave my son a football as a welcome gift, along with welcome drinks. They are definitely 4-star.

A really lovely hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and warm. I stopped by at noon when walking through the area to let them know I would be arriving late, around 9pm, and amazingly my room was ready so I was able to drop stuff off. The room was a good size for one person, comfy bed. Breakfast was included and there was a very good selection of cereals, breads, croissants, jams, meats, cheeses, etc. The only thing that I didn't love was how loud the AC system was. At one point in the night I turned it off so I didn't have to listen to it anymore but since it was 27°C that day the room got quite hot again very quickly so I just had to live with it.
