"Opened in 1926 on the Croisette, this Art Deco landmark has been a star-studded favorite among film-festival-goers for decades, and it’s steeped in cinematic history: Two of its most exclusive suites, for example, are named for the French actress Michèle Morgan, who won best actress at the first Cannes Film Festival, and the 1963 film Mélodie en sous-sol, which featured scenes shot at the hotel. (If you’re not here to rub shoulders with the glitterati during the festival, you can plan your own screening in the hotel’s private projection room by borrowing a DVD from the concierge’s library.) Outside, you’ll find a perma-heated pool, lined with red umbrellas and towering palms, and a private beach, where you can sip Champagne as you watch the Mediterranean waters come alive with water skiers, paddleboarders, sailors, and wakeboarders." - CNT Editors

"Opened in 1926, the Hotel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes is one of the quintessential Cannes properties. The lobby sets the scene for a grand entrance, with soaring ceilings, gilded sculptures, and cascading art deco light fixtures. Rooms are stately and serene, outfitted in muted tones like cream and taupe, with sweeping views of the bay. The hotel also offers ultra-luxe suites, each with a distinct design theme (like Riviera and Christian Dior), and a penthouse suite with a heated rooftop pool and 360-degree views of the city, from the hills to the sea stretching across the horizon. During my visit, the city was quiet but the bar at Fouquet’s was lively as ever. There, you’ll find a thoughtful drink menu from veteran mixologist Emanuele Balestra. Onsite restaurants include Fouquet’s and Paradiso, a Mediterranean brasserie that opens during the warmer seasons."

What to say? This is a mixed review… Hospitality from another century.|Usually try to avoid Cote d’Azur like plague…|Had to stay in the area for a night, decided for Majestic because of its location and wasn’t disappointed, it is second to none.|Arrived early, around 2PM. Valet and bellman were extremely efficient.|Room wasn’t ready, but undergoing “final inspection” so was available around 3PM, 1 hour before official check in time.|Room (suite) was spacious and clean.|Bed was truly big and comfortable.|And that’s about it.||1.No hot water in the bathtub.|Maintenance showed up promptly and made the repair.||2.Complimentary water is in the minibar fridge, good. |Problem when you need water at 11PM and the door doesn’t open.|Second visit of the maintenance staff. Fridge was not powered so remote lock couldn’t be controlled from the front desk and, more than anything, nothing was cold in the fridge. Tape was applied to the locking pin so door could be open, but the fridge never cooled anything as it was not powered.||3. TV was shutting down every 10 to 15 minutes. Had to restart every time to keep on watching it. Didn’t bother to call the maintenance for a third time…||You wonder what “final inspection” was about.||Front desk was extremely slow to answer the phone.||Breakfast was well under par for a hotel of that category. But hot chocolate was probably the best I’ve ever had.||One last thing, you must go through the restaurant to get to the swimming pool, feels pretty strange.||Will not return.

Bad service from the entrance to the end of the dinner. Nobody was at the entrance to welcome us and even the hallway was empty we had to look for the employee of the hotel. The dinner was extremely bad and cold and it shows by the price on the menus. The pizza was small and frozen we had to order a second plate for the child. The truffle had no flavour. The wine was the only thing we liked. Thank god we’ve never stayed at this hotel.

Even though this hotel is in need of some renovation, its unique charm still works its magic and creates a memorable experience. The staff is absolutely fantastic—attentive, professional, and always ready to assist, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable, although they would benefit from a refresh to match the high standards of the rest of the hotel. One of the highlights is the exceptional location, right in the heart of the city and directly across from the iconic Palais des Festivals in Cannes. It’s a place I’d happily return to despite the minor updates needed.

We had a beautiful 3 night stay at the Majestic. Perfect location near many fun restaurants in Cannes & a nice sandy beach across the street. The best part of the stay was the breakfast - it’s a very large hotel with a lot of guests and the breakfast each morning is incredibly organized and has the best spread of any hotel I’ve been to - we didn’t have a line to wait to get food, all the food was stocked and plentiful, great variety including fresh fruit, juices, breads/pastries, even sparkling wine. The room showed a little wear and tear but was very clean and comfortable. We’ll be back!

The Majestic basically is a level AA hotel. Perfect rooms, nice view, nice employees… Super services on a high pricing level. Until the concierge crashed my car (Brabus 850 WideStar 1/10)into a wall in the garage on 30.08.2023. the damage has not been regulated since this, the Generali insurance does not respond properly in time to my lawyers. 18 months the majestic management tells us, they are working on it. Would be interesting to know, what would happen, if a customer would damage majestic company property. If they would wait 18 months for the money. Next time, i give them on of my cars, i charge deposit until the car is back in my custody in the same condition. What a wonderful hotel, what a worst back office!!!

Absolutely incredible hotel. Luxurious and comfortable. Great location. Breakfast was fantastic. Service was great. Enjoyed relaxing at the pool but also had a beach club across the street. I loved our stay here. Would love to return again.

Beautiful hotel and amazing location!!! Our bedroom (Superior with partial ocean view) was beautifully decorated and the bedding incredibly comfortable! However, the bathroom was on the smaller side (tiny shower), but the plus side was that the toilet was private. The breakfast was impeccable and we also enjoyed the beach club - the only downside is that even for guests, the fee to use the day beds is quite high (most hotels won’t charge if you’re a guest).

Unfortunately our trip to this hotel didn’t go as planned and left us with a real sour taste in our mouths. ||I’d booked the trip for my girlfriends birthday was all going well until her Apple Watch was taken from our room. At first we thought maybe this got caught up in the laundry so we locked the watch to make sure no personal info was taken from it. We logged the incident with the hotel and they checked cctv and apparently the staffs lockers (not sure why they would be stupid enough to keep it on site) but this all came to no avail. ||The day we returned we got a notification on the ‘find my’ apple app that the watch had been ‘sufficiently charged’ that morning …. So this proves the watch was taken - luckily I don’t think whoever stole this is able to use the watch unless there is some way they can factory reset.||This was a real shame and put a downer on the last night as you don’t expect these things to happen and put trust in the hotel and their staff. Guest relations did try to help but most recent correspondence was to ‘contact the police’||Would advise anyone staying here in the future to be very wary of possessions as it’s clear the staff can’t be trusted - admittedly we didn’t use the safe but still this shouldn’t happen at a well respected hotel||Apart from this the pool and surroundings were nice and well kept, just find it very hard to write anything positive after the experience we had
