Service: Good. Helping & Courteous staff. Has a water cooler dispenser in the reception area (+ point) Location: located strategically. Messe is 8 mins walking. Has a lovely restaurant outside. Cleanliness: Great Air conditioning: No. Overall a great experience

Nice hotel, well placed in the lively part of the city. Few mins walk from the tram station. Best part - most of the city attractions can be reached by foot or the excellent tram system. Walk down to Rhine river front to enjoy the evening sun.

I always enjoy the family atmosphere. Everyone at the desk is welcoming. I am especially glad that the rooms have wi-fi now. My room was on the back, which is important to me since I need quiet. See you next year, and for more days. Best, James

I had a very good experience staying in the Hotel Basilisk in Basel. I found the location to be good with most of the tourist attractions within easy reach on foot or by public transport using the free Basel Card. The room was of a decent size with a comfortable bed and good en-suite facilities. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and polite. Would definitely look to stay in the Hotel Basilisk should I ever return to Basel.

100€ for a dirty room of 4msq. One pillow thin as a paper, mattress with springs coming out and duvet white no more.Wardrobe without doors and the sink inside: yes the sink is not in the toilet but inside the wardrobe in your huuuuuuuge room. Guys at reception nice but hasty. And there is not plug availble for your phone but you have to unplugged tv. I slept better in young hostels. Disgusted.

Enjoyed my stay thanks to the great staff in the hotel. Air condition would be nice, but it is quite hard to get this in Basel. Great keys for rooms, really recommend to check them out.

The staff was kind, however the hotel was very nosy and I could not sleep at all ... people shouting all night and hitting at the doors ... very bad night. Moreover, on my second day after a long day I arrived and my room was open! The turned given but not fitted in the latch ... luckily nothing was missing, I did not have value things ... but if I had I would be very angry!

Good location, clean and friendly service. Rooms are old but good value for the money. The room imcludes Basel card that is valid for public transport during the stay.

Pretty decent joint in overpriced Basel. Very affordable and in a great location (try not to walk directly towards the river on Klingentalstrasse unless you are in the market for offers from ladies of the night). The number 8 tram stops a half block away and everything you may want to visit is well within walking distance. They give you a metro pass for your stay so all your ventures should be free. The room was basic but clean. The bed comfortable and the bath well appointed. My only complaint was no air conditioning which can make the room uninhabitable if you are south facing in the summer. Internet is an additional 5 Swiss Franc for your entire stay. It does drop off every time you let your device sit so the relogging becomes a bit of a drag. The restaurant downstairs is also affordable (by Basel standards) but don't expect to get out of there for under 35CH. Only 5 minute walk to the Rhein where at sundown you can join locals as they sip their beverages and enjoy snacks on the bank. Reception is 24hr and very friendly. I would stay here again.
