Hotel Becket, BW Signature Collection

Perfect for a short trip. The hotel is walking distance from heavenly village and a short car ride to California lodge. Breakfast was good, warm, and convenient. However, the bathrooms have a barn door. You will hear what happens inside the bathroom. A regular door will be better. If you are a light sleeper, you might consider another hotel. You can hear traffic at night and it is loud enough to disturb your sleep. We were able to have a decent amount of sleep, but the noise woke us up throughout the night.

This was our first time at Hotel Becket and we had our two huskies with us! They were so wonderful with their service and the breakfast / dinner options were robust / tasty. It is not super fancy but the beds were very comfortable / clean and the multi family room was well laid out! We will be back!

This hotel is a 2 star hotel in a 5 star location. The location is amazing. 5 min walk to the ski resort, 3 min walk to shopping, restaurants and bars. Upon arrival, the staff is friendly. Walked into the room to find the dirty carpet floor. Small stuff all over it like popcorn kernels and shreds of paper. Called front desk and they sent someone 30 min later to vacuum. There was zero body washer in the container. The breakfast in the morning is decent for a hotel breakfast. Many choices to pick from. The breakfast staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is an old run down strip hotel with lip stick on a pig renovations. They “renovated” the room with trendy paint job, barn door, bed set, desk ect. The bones of the hotel are old and need updating. The front doors are somewhat hard to close so every time you try to shut it, you slam it. All the door squeak. The walls are paper thin. I could hear every single word of the family of 4 staying next to us. Every time they opened the door, we could hear it. You can hear the cars driving down the busy street. The bathroom window was an old aluminum window which leaked air and condensates a puddle to the floor and window seal. The shower doesn’t have the seal, so water leaks everywhere onto the tile bathroom floor. There is mold in the shower. See pictures. If you want a good location for decent price, stay here. If you want better quality room, go to the Marriott across the street.

Positive: Location is great. Negative: Hotel is pretty run down. Toilet wasn?t working. Realized the flapper chain fell off, so I just fixed it myself. The shower head was too high and sprayed the wall making it hard to shower. The floor creaked pretty bad when walking. Had a weird smell.

Bad value for the money - property is dated and room was of low quality. Stay away from this place if you need a quiet place after day of skiing (due to the onsite tavern's music in the evenings, road noise throughout the night and heavy/loud stuff being rolled through the hallways early in the mornings). They failed to inform us at the time of the reservation that our room would be on top of the tavern playing live music. Furthermore, we had to make repeated requests for additional blankets in person at the office. Why do you ask? Because the hotel phone system does not work! Manager was a no show. My review is from a recent stay for two nights (Friday and Saturday). If available, I would have given them -5 stars to this property for our experience.

Our stay at Hotel Becket was a mixed experience. While the location is great and the staff is very polite and friendly, there were a few issues that make it unlikely we’ll stay here again. The rooms are partially renovated, but there are still old fixtures in the bathrooms, and there’s no microwave in the rooms, which was inconvenient. The barn door for the bathroom might be trendy, but a regular door would probably work better for privacy and function. The grounds are well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is nice. Breakfast was fairly standard, but when we arrived near the end, the scrambled eggs and potatoes were barely warm, and the coffee was disappointing. Also, one of the bed lights didn’t work, which was a minor but noticeable inconvenience. As Elon Musk said, ‘If something’s important enough, you should try. Even if the probable outcome is failure.’ There’s definitely potential here, and with some improvements, this place could be much better. Overall, it was a decent stay, but there are areas where change could make a big difference.

Don't even think about it. I have stayed at BW properties for many years and have never been disappointed. I booked because of the BW Elite status and the pictures of the property, wide angle lenses make things look bigger. This is an old Highway 50 Tahoe motel that has been magically transformed into something it is not. Should there be a phone in the room? I guess they don't think so. I called on my cell and was told they'd report it to management. No phone, ever. Called there was a car parked in the disabled spot without a placard or plates. Nothing. Should have been cited or towed. There is not enough parking for the number of rooms, ended up parking on the street. $25 resort fee? Are you kidding? That's a cruel joke. I have never written a bad review of a BW property, until now. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

The service and the cleaness of the room what concern me the most. I requested 3x for a blanket because the bunk bed only has bed sheet and pillow but no blanket at all. The carpet of the room looks old and dirty, fyi they allow pet inside (pet friendly hotel) but they do need to vacuum the carpet The pressure water for the shower is very weak, the engineer did come after 2x visit to the lobby to complain, the hot water also need 30-45 second before it got warmed up. The housekeeping didnt clean our room on the 2nd day, turns out you need to request if not they will assume you dont want to be cleaned despite i took down “privacy” sign tag. But what i love about this hotel is the location. Its superb. Overall i would recommend the management to do some cleaning and repair or maintenance. This hotel has lots of potential. Too bad not well maintained. Updated : Funny thing happened today, due to snowstorn on the way to yosemite, we are forced to go back to lake tahoe at 23:00 and luckily they still have one room left for us . And we got the same type of room but way better view. I love this room so i decided to upped one star 😬

This review is earning the bbq restaurant only not hotel . The staff was amazing. We got bbq wings and bbq ribs. The ribs where great. The wings where very small and dry. My sn had a hamburger and got food poisoning. He's been sick for about 16 hours. Only a note to please be careful of the meat you serve . ..... this took 2 days off of our vacation and a sick kid throwing up. We r fine, it was only the hamburger. ​
