Beijers is a cute B&B style historic hotel centrally located in Utrecht. The decor is unique and gorgeous. The desk staff are friendly and helpful.
That being said, this place has some quirks. Please believe the reviews regarding issues with soundproofing. You can literally hear someone sneeze in the next room like they're right in bed next to you and it sounded like the people above me where wearing wooden shoes. Some complained about the church bells, but I barely heard them and honestly it was quite charming. I stayed in "comfort room" .06. It's located on the first floor which is actually the second floor so you have a winding set of stairs to lug your suitcase up and down. My toilet was separate from the rest of the bathroom. Kind of weird, but whatever. The windows have shutters instead of curtains, which I personally liked because it completely blacked out the room at night and probably helped with some of the street noise. Overall I enjoyed my stay, but probably wouldn't return due to the noise issues.
I would not recommend this hotel for the following: weary travelers looking for a good night's sleep, light sleepers, partiers, couples looking for privacy, families with babies or small children (mostly for the sake of the other guests).
