Hotel Bel-Air Eden

Lovely hotel. Best location in the centre of Grindelwald, 1 minute from the railway station and buses.Our room had a total full view of the Eiger. Huge long balcony, and also a window in the bathroom with the same view. |Every part of the hotel was very clean. The decor and furnishings were dated but very nostalgic. Our room was cleaned thoroughly daily, usually whilst we were at breakfast, and a chocolate was put on our pillow each day! |The breakfast was good and we thoroughly enjoyed having coffee in a pot and a large jug of hot milk, rather than the usual self service coffee machines that most hotels have these days.|Very good communication with the owner before we arrived, with a very simple self check in to get our keys as we arrived quite late at night.

The staff provided extra pillows allowing us to sleep soundly and wake up each day refreshed. The inclusive breakfast is one of the best I have ever had! The bread and cheese were unmatched! The selection is outstanding and sets a high standard for morning meals. The brie cheese on walnut bread was my absolute favorite along with the overnight oats! The hotel is a cute place, reminiscent of staying at grandma’s house, creating a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere. It provided outstanding mountain and valley views from the breakfast area, allowing guests to enjoy their morning meal while taking in beautiful scenery. Overall, it is in a great location, making it easy to explore local attractions.

Hotel Bel-Air Eden - Swiss Alps (Grindelwald) What does this hotel offer, mixed with breathtaking views of Swiss Alps? ABSOLUTE TRANQUILITY! At this hotel, check-in was smooth and was met by, Peter and Daniela, owners 15+ years. For solo travelers, my room was cozy and small. I didn’t mind the size, because I was blown away by both my window views of Swiss Alps. I couldn’t believe that my 2-Star hotel room was offering such speechless views. The bathroom and shower both were small but worked without issues. At night it is so quiet, not even birds or wild creatures made a sound. ABSOLUTE BEST SLEEP OF MY LIFE!!! Peter and Daniela serve individual guests by coming to their table and taking specialty coffee orders. They make sure your breakfast is delicious and are accommodating. The food and drinks are very generous and delicious. I would certainly recommend this hotel and I will be returning. Price based on location… very affordable for what you get.

Management at this hotel are so friendly and accommodating! You can’t beat the location, right by the train station. Plus it’s not right in the main traffic, which is about 250 m up the road, So it’s more quiet than some of the other hotels that are near the bus station. The rooms are clean and sufficient. There have been several upgrades as well. We have stayed here two years in a row and have enjoyed our accommodations.

Had an interesting stay here. The hotel is run by an older couple that seemed overwhelmed at times, and didn’t know how to interact with guests. We stayed here because 1. It was cheaper than many hotels in the area, and 2. Because their website, and 3rd party sites, said there was free parking. After checking in, we realized we were charged a daily fee for parking. The next morning I asked the wife about this, and showed her that their website stated free parking. She then pretended she didn’t speak English and told me to ask her husband when he was back. Later that day, we went downstairs to ask the husband, and they were together, in the middle of deleting the free parking on their website. I then pull up the website, and the free parking was gone and he said it was “impossible” that there was free parking. He admitted the free parking was “in error for English speakers on the website” but did not honor it or apologize. (Attached is the screenshot of the free parking before it was deleted) Second thing we found odd, we got groceries one night, so we decided to eat in the lobby, where there were many tables and chairs, ones that resemble kitchen tables. We sit down, and immediately the husband appears and tells us that eating downstairs is prohibited so we had to leave to eat because downstairs “was only for the bar” (AKA drinks - which was completely empty and closed late afternoon typically). It felt like we had security cameras on us. Overall, a strange experience. 2 stars were given because the room was fine, and it was a good location for the price.

Possibly the best value hotel in Switzerland and definitely one of the best located. Only 50m from the train station and about 150m from the bus station for Terminal and First and all the restaurants. Friendly, quiet and very well run by Peter and team, with jaw-dropping views of the Eiger and Grindelwald from the balcony. Good breakfast too. Great stay, highly recommend for skiers.

The hotel is very close to the Grindelwald train station.|The breakfast was OK.|The room was very clean.|The owners, Peter and Daniela are very nice, as are the other staff members.|In our room there was no A/C. Might be a consideration for summer vacations.

Great hotel especially for the price! Rooms were very clean and cozy, views from your balcony are AMAZING! Location is excellent, less than a 5 minute walk to the train station or bus station and only a minute or two more to the main grocery store and restaurants. Staff is very kind and helpful and they serve a very full free breakfast every day! Also was working remotely on this trip and the wifi was more than fast enough for work each day. Really my only complaint is it would have been nice to have a refrigerator but totally worth not having one for everything else.
