"Bella Vista has a real personal touch with its chalet charm, friendly owners and host of extras including home-made marmalade, home-baked rolls and the occasional fondue or raclette. You can also relax in the quiet chill-out room with a view of the Matterhorn." - Tablet Hotels

Not sure where to start from about this lovely hotel. Swiss mountain charme all over, incredibly kind ladies who run and manage the place, beautiful quite immaculate spa and the best breakfast I had in Zermatt, with fresh local products, cooked eggs on request, fresh orange juice and proper cappuccino! We love Zermatt and we now love this cozy hotel we can’t wait to go back to. Thank you.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Bella Vista. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a magnificent view of the Matterhorn and a balcony from which to admire it. The bathroom had a fabulous shower. Breakfast was excellent, with several homemade items and the option of ordering scrambled eggs as well as cappuccino. The two women who ran the breakfast were extremely kind and patient. The hotel was in a quiet area, yet just a short walk from the busy town center. We highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again if we return to Zermatt.

The staff were extremely friendly and immediately made you feel at home. The hotel had amazing views of Zermatt and the Matterhorn. The rooms were really nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was also great offering food alternatives for intolerances. We would highly recommend and definitely return.

Possibly one of my favorite hotel experiences, and this is coming from someone who travels a lot. Reasons I loved my stay: 1. Family run business. Incredibly warm, welcoming staff. A handwritten note was in my room, along with a postcard, cookie, and small book detailing the history of this hotel. I did not have an adapter with me that fit Switzerland's outlets, and the staff let me borrow one during my stay. The daily breakfast includes homemade bread and jams. They place your name card on your breakfast table along with a small felt clipboard with a quote of the day. It's very rare to find hotels that can create such an intimate, personalized feel to your stay. It's also a lovely way to learn about the history and culture of a place. 2. Lovely deck space with impressive views of the Matterhorn (see photos) 3. Located slightly further from the center of town (10 minutes walk), which lends a more peaceful serene ambience 4. Very comfortable mattresses and bedding 5. Other highlights: They have a spa, offer a packed lunch (need to order the day before), and have light dinner options.

This was a lovely hotel in Zermatt. The service was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh options. Everything overall felt charming and cozy. We decided to go for a room with a view and were very happy we did. The view was stunning. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Again, another wonder time spent at the Bella Vista. We had a great view from our room of the Matterhorn. The hotel is a great location as it is just a 10 minute walk to just about everything. The breakfasts are always great and the traditional fresh orange juice is very special. We look forward to our next time at your family run hotel.

• The room: Extremely clean. We immediately noticed how spotless it was, and Hotel Bella stands out as the best compared to my other three four-star stays. • The place: Offers a stunning view of the Matterhorn, perfect for capturing beautiful sunrise and sunset photos in your own balcony. • The service and atmosphere: Warm and welcoming, making the stay feel truly comfortable. Unlike other big and fashionable hotels, this place pays attention to every important detail. To truly experience the beauty and uniqueness of Zermatt, I highly recommend choosing Hotel Bella Vista.

Extremely Disappointing Experience — Please Read Before Booking We chose this hotel based on the glowing online reviews, but our experience was the complete opposite. Despite having a fully confirmed reservation (with written confirmation and a reminder email), the hotel refused to honour our booking when we arrived. To make matters worse, they had already charged our card in full. When we tried to resolve the issue, the response from staff was dismissive and unprofessional. We were told things that left us deeply uncomfortable, and there was absolutely no attempt to take responsibility for the situation or offer any meaningful solution. The attitude was essentially: “This happens all the time,” which was incredibly concerning. We travel extensively — around 30 days each year internationally — and spend a significant amount on accommodation. We have never encountered anything like this. It was, without exaggeration, one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. We eventually recovered our funds through our own efforts, but only after a great deal of stress, frustration, and time wasted. No guest should ever have to go through this after receiving a confirmed booking and being charged upfront. My suggestion to anyone considering this hotel: Read the reviews carefully, and do not rely solely on the high ratings. Our experience was deeply negative, and based on how confidently the staff dismissed our concerns, I worry that we were not the first guests to face this situation. I hope this review helps other travellers make an informed decision.

Yelp
We had an amazing, last minute trip to Zermatt and stayed at Hotel Bella Vista. It was a fabulous experience--the staff are all so amazingly kind, and they accommodated our little family and my gluten free requests easily and graciously! The views of the Matterhorn from the hotel are unreal and we loved everything about it! Will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Good location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, clean updated rooms and stunning view of the Matterhorn. Came to snowboard and it was the perfect walking distance to lifts and the town. Heated boots room and separate ski room. Highly recommend

Yelp
THE BEST PLACE. The cutest swiss chalet. Lovely rooms. Awesome amenities. The nicest family and staff running the place. So easy to deal with and they treat you like total family. WE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE!! In fact we wish we had stayed in Zermatt for longer. The views are beyond amazing. The food and breakfasts so good. Close proximity to anything in and around this gorgeous mountain town. We loved Hotel Bella Vista. We loved Zermatt. Honestly a great value for the money. So easy to deal with and it was a joy being there.

Yelp
This place was the top rated place on TripAdvisor that wasn't ridiculously expensive. For 215 CHF my momma and I got picked up from the train station had a beautiful room with two beds had a view of the Matterhorn FROM one of the beds had a lovely and large bathroom had a balcony got two sweet little cookies got a nifty closet space behind the beds complimentary cookies in the lobby and a beautiful buffet breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly, and they even recommended my new favorite Swiss restaurant (Stockhorn Grill!). The lobby pretty much melted my heart, it was so cozy and beautifully lit. I loved it. I couldn't even imagine how perfect it would be in winter! Everything was clean, sweet, cozy, and wonderfully decorated. I especially liked the homemade raspberry and strawberry jams, and multiple spreads, cheeses, meats, fruits, granolas, breads, and rolls for breakfast. I didn't want to leave!

Yelp
Hi, I am from Los Angeles and planning to take Glacier Express on January 5, 2020. I need a hotel room for the night of January 4, 2020. I would like to know if you have room available. I don't know how to contact you other than calling you internationally. It will be nice to have an email. Please let me know your availability.

Yelp
My fiancé and I decided to stay in Zermatt for 3 nights on a whim during a trip to Europe. Getting to the hotel may seem like a chore the first night from the train station (if you do not know the layout of Zermatt), but is a reasonable 17 Swiss Franks right out of the train station. We paid for the cab when we first arrived, but after figuring out the town of Zermatt, were able to find our way to the Train Station with all of our luggage on the way out of town without a hassle. Zermatt and the Hotel Bella Vista were an excellent choice for a 3-night stay. The Hotel is laid out with beautiful views of the Alps in all directions. We had a 1 bedroom-1 bathroom with a view of the Matterhorn and Zermatt itself. The balcony was just the right size for two people to sit out on. The room and bathroom were both incredibly clean and welcoming to come home to each day and as an added plus they always had cookies for the visitors! There may have not been a lot of room to sit around in the room, but the hotel and staff made up for it in the lounge area on the main floor. This is where the Hotel really did shine. The staff was attentive, friendly and spoke English well. My fiancé really though they did their best to make her feel like family in the establishment and I would have to say I felt the same. They even let us borrow an international plug-in when our converter did not work. One night they had free mulled wine and each night you could order alcoholic drinks off of a well-established and reasonably priced list of wine, spirits, and beer. I would suggest making use of this option, because a Jack and Coke seemed to run roughly $17 to $20 (American) in Zermatt. We would also suggest making use of the fondue night they provide. It was the best we had ever had and was the best priced from what we could find in Zermatt. The breakfast was free and had everything you could imagine wanting in the morning. There was a mix of different breads, hard and soft cheeses, breakfast rolls, fruits, yogurts, and juices. Eggs were available upon request. Another note is on the spa at the Hotel. The spa area is opened for 8 or so hours a day. The spa itself consisted of an amazing bubble tub, sauna, steam bath, shower area, reading room, and massage room. Massages were for a fee and the bubble tub was 5 Swiss Francs. We cannot recommend this hotel enough to any friends, family members, or acquaintances that may find themselves in the area. Side notes -The price of lunch and/or dinner may make Zermatt seem cost prohibitive to some. We were able to make the trip more affordable by going into the grocery store and making our own meals in the late afternoon -Do not expect great coffee in Zermatt unless you enjoy the burnt taste of a dark roast. McDonald's seemed to be the best we could find. Hotel Bella Vista's was decent, but while there you are better off having on of their teas. It is one of their specialties.

Yelp
Bella Vista is a sweet, cozy hotel in Zermatt with a lovely view of the Matterhorn from the room balconies. The hotel provides only soaps, no shampoo or lotion in the bathrooms, but that's why you get to pay less. It's family owned and operated and super warm and welcoming. The breakfast is VERY good. :) :)
