I didn't know what to expect. The reception area was still in the last stages of construction, but the rooms were ready for guests. Being a 70's love-child, I fell in love from the moment I stepped into room #15. Simply groovy in an Austin Powers kind of way! The bed is spacious and super comfy. The linen fresh and great quality. The bathroom, although not quite big enough to swing the cat, is tidy and clean with enough room to hang your personal stuff. There's even a writing desk and chair which was perfect for me as (sadly) I had a couple of online meetings. The wifi was fast and easy to connect to.
And then there's the view!!! (Which was more than a bit distracting) Probably the best in Grindelwald.
French doors take you out onto a wide wrap-around terrace with your own table and chairs, where you can admire the spectacular Bernese Oberland mountains.
I didn't hear anyone else in the hotel, it was very very quiet at night and yet it's only a short walk into the centre of town.
Very convenient.
I've stayed in a few places in Grindelwald over the years but this is definitely my favourite of them all.
Let your inner flower-power wild-child loose at the Bellary. You won't regret it!
