Hotel Bellavista

The location is very good, the staff are friendly. Our room was 35 in a separate building, we had no heating in the room nor in the bathroom when the temperature outside was at the night -10C. The bed was so uncomfortable, it was to soft and I could feel all the springs on my back. The mattresses were smaller than the bad frame itself. The curtains had discussing brown marks. The breakfast was included in the price, but they are charting extra for scrambled eggs. It is max ** stars hotel. It is far away from **** I simply wouldn’t recommend it.

There were brown marks all over the curtains. The heating didn't work in the room, and the service guy came and tried to gaslight us that the heating was fine, which it wasn't. Eventually he brought an electric heater. It would have been much better if he had just said, "Sorry there's a problem with the heating, let me get you an electric heater". They were very good about exchanging the feather duvet and pillow for non allergenic ones. The breakfast was nothing special except they appear to have found the slowest, worst toaster in Europe. Finally, at checkout, they tried to make us pay again for the whole stay, despite already having paid on Booking.com.

Very nice hotel we have been coming to for many years with very good restaurant. This year we booked a Tower/Panorama Room that was a gift for a special occasion. Upon arrival we were given a very normal room whose only view was of the street and the back of the kitchen. No problems until there, I ask for an explanation of the lack of communication (we would have chosen another hotel for the celebration) but it's no big deal for us as long as the final price is that of the given room. I would have expected some kind of apology but instead when paying for the room I even find the same price as the tower/panorama room! with the manager insisting that the room is in the same price range, to the point that I even thought I was at fault. She tells me to explain better next time and that she will take 50 francs off the bill (6% discount), an embarrassing amount given the total. I don't think there will ever be a next time for any friend or member of the family.

After several stays at the hotel and meals at the restaurant over the past eight years, The Bellavista remains one of my favorite places to dine in the Engadine. Delicious and beautifully presented dishes and a generous wine list, excellent also for discovering some less-known wines. Cozy inside, very pleasant garden seating overlooking lake Silvaplana on a sunny day, with direct access to the x-country tracks. A bit annoying and still the practice during my last visit in the winter of 2024, the CHF8 charged for a bottle of tap water.

Excellent food, service, price, decor and ambiance! Perfect Alpine dinner and excellent service: the waiters were very polite, the food came out on time, the gentleman who took the order was wearing a chef jacket so I presume was the chef. We had the raclette for starters together with artichoke salad. For the main we had the venison and beef steak 🥩 both presented and prepared beautifully! Such a pleasure to have had a dinner here and the price is very reasonable.

We’ve been guests here for many years and even celebrated birthdays at their restaurant. The food in general is still good, but the menu hasn’t changed for years. On top the service (the family) has become extremely uncourteous if not to say arrogant. We will not come back.

Amazing dinner! Book this without a doubt. Food was delicious and fresh. Portions are great and prices are reasonable. Great service and everyone was so friendly. The views are amazing and so peaceful. I’d love to come back and stay at this hotel easily!
