i really wanted to like it as I’m a huge Fitzgerald fan and I’ve wanted to go for years. Unfortunately it’s way overpriced and so you’re not getting enough for how much you’re paying. The hotel is pretty and nicely perfumed and the staff are very well meaning. However, the rooms are adequate but smaller than at many hotel chains. The one elevator is shared with the service staff so it takes forever and so you end up not even using it. There are a ton of people who buy day passes for the "beach" and that's really the better value. As a hotel guest, you pay almost the same price ~55-60+ euros + they charge you 8 euro / towel / day. (By contrast, I stayed at a hotel in a different town that rented it's guests beach towels for 3 euros for however long the stay was). Then you're paying for food at the beach and the minimum entree is ~35 euros. In your hotel room, there is a sign next to the minibar forbidding you from putting anything in, allegedly for hygenic reasons. I've never seen that at a hotel in my life and it just makes you feel like this is another way they're forcing you to pay for overpriced food. Turndown service was inconsistent and service was slow at the bar. Not a big deal, if you're paying reasonable prices but for what the rooms cost, unfortunately it's just not worth it.

The Belles Rives Hotel is a grand hotel with a glamours past. And the past is the most glamorous attribute of this hotel. Arriving early before check-in we asked if it was possible to get in the room early, prior to the 3:00 pm check-in. And, they were able to get us in the room by 2:00 pm however, as the nice front desk attendant walked us into the room, she stated that it was not the upgraded room we had booked as the upgraded room was not available. Now is a nice time to tell us, why not 3 hours ago when we arrived so we could look at alternatives. |The room was nicely decorated but very small for a 5 star, very expensive hotel. The staff was very nice and showed up with amenities, fruit, champagne, sweets however they all stood around holding them because there was no table or desk to set them on. And the bathroom was tiny. So, it had a beautiful view of the water and no WIFI. The staff spent two days trying to get the WIFI to work in the room but was not able to fix the problem. Credit for trying. |The restaurants were nice and the food generally good. If you like hamburgers, you get a nice hamburger with a bowl of fries for 42 Euros. No garnish, no salad, just a hamburger. The staff was nice but were well trained to avoid eye contact if it was not a table or task they were undertaking. The buffet was ok, nothing to get excited about but on the par with most standard hotel breakfast buffets, similar to the one we had at the airport Hilton. |We were able to enjoy a sunbed on the beach front, again very nice and would have been even more enjoyable if at least once during the afternoon an attendant had come over to ask if we would like to order any food or drink. However, they were very engaged with a team meeting at the bar. So, we went up and ordered and brought our drinks back to the lounge. |The staff needs better training and more focus on the guests instead of each other, seven staff standing at the F Scott Fitzgerald Bar while guests are patiently waiting does not present a good image. |On the positive side the art deco décor was nice, and Lucas the Concierge was outstanding, he made it happen. And the staff did adjust the room rate and provided additional amenities to address the room situation and Wi-Fi issues. That was appreciated. |But overall, I would not put this on my list of places to return, the service level needs to be improved and unfortunately the physical limitations of the room and property are difficult to address. Note that the sister hotel that has the pool and gym is not next door, it is about 350 meters down the street.

Ricardo at the Belles Rives Hotel is truly the warmest and most welcoming person. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with genuine kindness and made us feel at home right away. His constant positive attitude and friendly smile made our stay more enjoyable. Thank you, Ricardo 🙏🏼💘

Staying at Hôtel Belles Rives felt like stepping into a film I never wanted to end. As a movie lover—and someone who’s always been a little obsessed with the glamour of the 1920s—this place was pure magic. Knowing that F. Scott Fitzgerald once lived and wrote here gave the whole experience this dreamy, almost surreal atmosphere. I could honestly picture Zelda dancing barefoot on the terrace, champagne in hand. The Art Deco details, the sea views, the vintage charm—it all feels untouched in the best way, like time has slowed down just for you. I spent hours on the balcony just watching the light shift over the water, imagining scenes from old movies or pages from Tender is the Night. The service was elegant and old-school in a way that’s so rare now—quietly attentive, never overbearing. Dinner by the water felt like something from a classic film, and every corner of the hotel holds so much history and emotion. Belles Rives isn’t just a hotel—it’s a story. And I felt incredibly lucky to be a small part of it, even just for a few nights

Stunning view, lovely stuff, and an inviting atmosphere. Every employee we interacted with seemed genuinely concerned about our wellbeing and satisfaction. The bar has a great little menu to order dinner from (if one wants to be a little more casual than the Michelin-starred hotel restaurant would call for).

A Slice of Mediterranean Heaven! We had the absolute best time at Hôtel Belles Rives! From the second we walked in, it felt like stepping into a postcard—elegant, relaxed, and full of classic French Riviera charm. Our room had a panoramic view of the Mediterranean, and we were obsessed. We spent way too much time just staring out at the sea, and we don’t regret a second of it. Sunrise, sunset, or just a lazy midday—it was stunning at every hour. The vibe of the hotel is effortlessly chic, with just the right mix of old-school glam and modern comfort. The staff were amazing—so kind, helpful, and always made us feel right at home. In particular, Ricardo saw to our every need and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. La Passagère was an absolute treat. From start to finish, the whole dinner was next-level—beautifully plated dishes, incredible flavors, and the seaside setting took it over the top. Every bite felt special, and you could tell a lot of care went into the menu. The atmosphere was elegant but still totally relaxed, and the service was spot-on—friendly, attentive. Add in that stunning view of the Mediterranean, and it felt like a scene from a movie. Easily one of the best meals of our trip. If you're staying at Belles Rives make sure you book a table. It’s so worth it. Between the view, the beautiful interiors, the people and the overall feeling of being somewhere truly special, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Already dreaming of coming back!

Stunning hotel with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean. The staff was warm and welcoming, our Junior Suite offered such a beautiful view from the terrace. We left our terrace doors open overnight to throughly enjoy the Spring evening. We were surprised that we had a full moon that glistened all night with its reflection on the water.||Our only regret is not staying longer, we loved it!

I have huge affection for the Belles Rives having stayed and eaten there over the past 50+ years. But, as other reviewers have said, it's relying on past laurels, and this year in particular the service and food is letting the place down. ||We had lunch there today for the third time this summer, and for the third time it was extremely disappointing. The service was non-existent, they ran out of lots of the food choices, including not having any bread (!), and what food was served was either Luke-warm or cold, with chips being served on hot plates, but with cold chips - a clear sign that they'd been microwaved. We had to ask four people just to get a bottle of water, and were given 2 menus to share between six diners. When we finished our main courses, it took over 30 minutes for the staff to clear the table, and they didn't even complete this. Not acceptable for a eu100 per head restaurant.||The worst bit was when we paid the bill and told our server that we thought the service today was the worst ever. He said sorry, and then asked if we wanted to give an extra tip!

Yelp
My husband and I recently dined at Plage Belles Rives in Antibes, and unfortunately, our experience was rather disappointing, especially given the restaurant's reputation. We were seated right away, but it took about 15 minutes for someone to even ask if we wanted water. It then took an additional 25 minutes to get a menu, with the explanation that they were running low on them--this seemed odd, especially since the restaurant wasn't even half full. When we finally received our starter, the three squares of flattened focaccia were quite stale. Despite our best efforts, we only managed to get one serving of water throughout the entire meal, as our waiter seemed to disappear. The food itself was a mixed bag. The tuna appetizer with yuzu passion sauce was excellent, and our main dishes--the burrata with penne and the sea bass--were mostly enjoyable. However, the sea bass was overcooked and dry, and the side salads were nothing more than a few leaves and some sliced cherry tomatoes--not what you'd expect from a fine dining establishment. The view of the sunset was absolutely stunning, which was a highlight of the evening. But unfortunately, the service issues persisted. It took 20-30 minutes just to get our check and pay, even after asking three different servers. I really wanted to love this place and recommend it to others, but the poor service and inconsistency in food quality left us disappointed. I hope they can improve for future guests, but as it stands, I can't say I'd return.

Yelp
Hotel Belles Rives is a former vacation home of F. Scott Fitzgerald and is beautifully decorated in an Art Deco style with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. There is a fabulous fine dining restaurant, an elegant bar and a restaurant out on the jetty. It's quite an experience to sit back and enjoy a delicious cocktail or meal in such exquisite surroundings! Definitely go if you have a chance.

Yelp
With fabulous stories and a rich history, this hotel is unique and an absolute gem on the Cap D'Antibes. From F. Scott Fitzgerald tales to historic features like the guest elevator and old-school room keys, Belles Rives has an air of grace and charm that makes for the perfect location for a riviera stay. The food and service is absolutely perfect, rooms are dated but classic and comfortable, and the views of the bay cannot be beaten.

Yelp
Beautiful luxurious historic property on the French coast. The property is elegant, the facilities are well-maintained and the setting is breathtaking. You can reserve your own spot for the day at different parts of the beach or the jetty. Incredible service and the food was mouthwatering! If you are on the fence about where to stay this is your place!!

Yelp
Came here for the obvious history behind it with F Scott Fitzgerald having spent time here for years while writing The Great Gatsby. As soon as you walk in the front doors, you can see how beautiful the back area with the ocean, dock and tables sitting along the water. It's breathtaking and the hotel is in great condition if not brand new. I had such great service from various members of the staff, a delicious salmon tartare and gin fizz. Coming from New York, I cannot say that it is expensive but for the lunch I had which consisted of a large sparkling water, cafe noisette, gin fizz, and salmon tartare, I spent around $50-60. That seems fair given the atmosphere.

Yelp
Putting 4 and not 5 stars because although it claims 5 stars, their are certain aspects of the hotel that are not and to me, the place does need improvement to be a real 5 star hotel. The main issues for me were mostly details (no shower cap in bathroom, water bottle not replaced in room, glasses not perfectly dry at the restaurant, piano bar closing early and missing some drinks...) Also the staff feels mostly novice, inexperienced, which doesn't make you feel like you're in a proper 5 star. The location is unbeatable in the area and it is a charming hotel filled with arty history. The food at the restaurant is fantastic. The Michelin star is well deserved. When having lunch there during our stay, they had put a family on the table we had specifically booked in person... While trying to place us on another (less nice) table, the staff argued (argued!) that it had rained and they had put people inside including on our table (not an excuse, especially when other tables were free). We thought that was highly unprofessional and again, not a 5 star anecdote. Eventually they came back to their senses and offered a round of Champagne. Thanks, but still. Not our table.. Overall a good hotel but you will need to lower your expectations on the 5 star aspect of things in order to not be disappointed.

Yelp
The rooms are very small and the staff is slow. The views are nice. Fitzgerald Bar is great for sunset, but they are understaffed. It took forever to get drinks and no one seemed to care. We waited almost 20 minutes for someone to take our order.

Yelp
The Belles Rives is a charming hotel overlooking the sea. It's simply stunning. The rooms are small but well decorated and when you can open the French doors to overlook the beautiful ocean, what more do you need? Ooh, you'd like a kind staff and beautiful lounge where they are playing Mumford and Sons on the piano - done. The paintings alone are worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Burcu was our charming waitress at Plage Belles Rives restaurant. Always smiling and accommodating. A great representative for a wonderful hotel.
