Hotel Bellevue Palace Bern (Bern, Canton of Bern) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It says a lot about what kind of hotel the Bellevue Palace is that it’s the Swiss government’s official lodging, playing host to visiting dignitaries and heads of state as well as Swiss members of parliament. In fact it’s publicly owned, but privately managed, a sort of best-of-both-worlds approach that seems to have paid off — its facilities and atmosphere are flawless, but the service is anything but complacent." - Tablet Hotels

My stay at the Bellevue Palace Bern was exceptional. The newly appointed rooms feel both refined and authentic, keeping the charm of a grand palace while offering every modern comfort. Waking up to the views over the Aare and the Alps is simply breathtaking. The location could not be better; right in the heart of Bern, steps from everything yet perfectly quiet. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, making me feel welcome from the first moment. A timeless hotel that continues to impress.

We had such a great stay at this hotel in Bren! The staff were super nice and welcoming, they really made us feel at home. Our room was big, clean, and the bed was amazingly comfortable.|I loved the little touches, like the evening room service and the small chocolate left on the bed every night, such a sweet detail!||The location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station and the city center. It was so easy to get around, do some shopping, and then come back to the room to relax whenever we wanted.||Overall, I was really happy with our stay and would definitely come back!

This historical wonderful building connects beautiful old well maintained furnishings with modern ones, offers a bar, a lobby and two restaurants where you can enjoy the very good food and beverage choice. Not to forget the big terrace with a magnificent view of the Alps and the Aare River. The bellevue is a must-see.

Nice little tea time outside on the terrace with a beautiful view! Staff was very professional and attentive - true old school hospitality spirit. The atmosphere inside was beautiful, made us wish we stayed longer. Will come back to stay in the hotel

I stayed here during a leisure/business trip, researching partner properties in Switzerland. Bellevue Palace has an exceptional location. The lobby and common areas are beautiful - with a traditional elegance. My room was lovely - it was fresh with great bathroom(s) and balcony with a stunning view. This would be my top choice for clients.

The service and staff here are amazing! Very professional. What we loved about the room: magnifying mirror that slides for taller/shorter people, spacious and sufficient space for two peoples' suitcases and hanging clothes, clean wood floors, plenty of outlets, good wifi, plenty of places to hang towels, outlet in the bathroom for curling irons, beautiful view. Suggestions: bathtub shower with high sides to step over was tough for my 85-yr old Mother.

My stay at the Bellevue Palace in Bern was truly exceptional. The hotel is a landmark of elegance and history, offering a unique atmosphere that perfectly blends tradition with modern comfort. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and many offer stunning views of the Bernese Alps and the River Aare. The service is outstanding, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making every guest feel special. Its central location, right next to the Federal Palace, is perfect for exploring Bern while enjoying the charm and exclusivity of a grand hotel. Dining at the Bellevue is another highlight, with refined cuisine served in an elegant setting that reflects the character of the hotel. The Bellevue Palace is not just a place to stay, but a true experience of Swiss hospitality at its finest. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bern.

Yelp
The service, atmosphere, veal chop and chocolate mousse were decadent and worth the $$$$ rating. If you visit Bern, spend the money to enjoy a formal and scrumptious dinner- with views to die for!

Yelp
Delicious meal right in the heart of charming Bern. We got a reservation for two and enjoyed our meal here. The mosaic de 3 fish was good but my favorite was probably my main dish of pigeon. My husband loved his steak. Would recommend.

Yelp
We are staying in an Air B&B on the mountain and did not want to drive back down, so came in for a late dinner. The service was super friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely fantastic. I had the pork steak with vegetables; with fresh string beans, carrots, broccoli, chayote and fries. Everything was great- the pork was tender and juicy, perfectly cooked, and the veggies were delicious. It was the best meal so far after over 2 weeks in Europe. My friends ordered the pork schnitzel and it was also perfect. We also had the ice cream cake with strawberry sorbet and it was amazing. The prices were very reasonable, and during warmer weather the outdoor dining and view would be quite memorable. We will go back!

Yelp
So this review is for the Bellevue Palace Hotel's Vue Restaurant - and what an elegant spot for a refined luncheon or dinner! Of course, there's the great view of the Bern River valley coursing its leisurely way through the city, but it's also a classy dining area with crisp white tablecloths, sparkling tableware, and top-notch attentive Swiss service. (And Swiss tidiness - they collect your overcoats and such for the coat-check so as not to disturb the dining room's appearance with unruly jackets draped all over the chairbacks!) They had a "businessman's" lunch menu that looked good, so I chose that and selected a salmon tartare for an appetizer (fatty and unctuous, deliciously seasoned and garnished); the roasted cod for main entree (excellent); and a refreshing limoncello ice with a fruit coulis comprised of blueberries, ligonberries, and raspberries. A nice strong coffee rounded out the meal. Wait service was great - made you feel like royalty!

Yelp
Great restaurant, amazing service, very exquisite. Meal sizes were tiny for the price you pay, but absolutely delicious.

Yelp
We are staying at the hotel and had Sunday brunch when we arrived. It was good, but expensive. After a poor dinner at a local restaurant we decided to go to the hotel bar at the restaurant. The bartender Marc Uthe was awesome and very nice to talk with. He was first class all the way and the drinks were excellent. The atmosphere was also very nice outside on the terrace.

Yelp
The question when staying in Bern, where should I stay at the Bellevue Palace or the Schweizerhoff? Bellevue: great view. Large and beautiful lobby/atrium. The terrace overlooking the river is breath taking. The service throughout the hotel is Swiss at its finest. A classical European hotel that is very rare in the abstract world we live in. Schweizerhoff. Location convenience across from train station and shopping arcade. Spa to die for.

Yelp
Two days in a row for dinner and it was excellent! Truly a feast for the pallets as they give you many variations even for traditional dishes and also has unique tastes such as "blue brain" cheese and even has great Italian coffee ... Correctto espresso ... try it!

Yelp
This former private residence is a spectacular place to spend a few days in Bern. Everything is expensive in Switzerland but once you accept that and enjoy this palace you wont be disappointed. Rooms with a view of the river are especially quaint and very peaceful. Wide hallways and beautiful fixtures and art make this place special. Enjoyed having truffles shaved on my pasta and my partner said his chateaubriand was superb. Asparagus and fresh mushrooms were in season so along with a dollop of hollandaise we were in heaven. I would go back here in a heartbeat although we've only been here twice. Fills up quickly if an international conference is in town. Enjoy!

Yelp
Didn't stay here but had the most spectacular meal EVER!!! Live a little and be pampered by the most attentive staff. I hated to leave!
