We stayed here for our honeymoon and requested a room with a nice view. To our delight, we were given a spacious suite overlooking the Aare River with an absolutely stunning panorama. The room was large, spotlessly clean—including the bathroom—and very comfortable. Having a shower toilet was also a convenient feature.||The staff were not especially warm, but they worked efficiently and left us with a reasonably good impression.||Unfortunately, our experience was ruined at breakfast due to extremely unpleasant treatment. The breakfast area consists of two sections: an outer terrace-facing space with sunlight, river views, and all the buffet food, and an inner room separated by walls and doors. Naturally, the outer area is the more desirable seating.||Despite there being plenty of empty tables outside when we arrived, we were directed to sit inside. At first we thought nothing of it, but soon realized that all the Asian guests had been seated in the inner room, while every table in the outer area was occupied by white guests. To make matters worse, we witnessed an elderly white couple who arrived after us being shown directly to a table outside. The segregation by race was unmistakable.||This discriminatory treatment ultimately left us with the worst possible impression of the hotel. Despite the wonderful aspects such as the beautiful room with its breathtaking view, it is very disappointing that we cannot imagine returning to this property again.||I sincerely hope that other properties belonging to The Leading Hotels of the World do not share the same culture.
