Hotel Belvedere Locarno

We spent three nights in the hotel Belvedere as a family of three and we couldn’t recommend it enough! The hotel is located on a hill overseeing lake Maggiore and the town of Locarno. While the approach to the building is relatively steep, the hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the train station, which we appreciated a lot. The room we selected to spend with our three months-old baby was a suite with two separate rooms and we found it very clean and comfortable. Neither the pictures on the hotel website nor on 3rd party booking apps, however, are giving enough justice how spacious the suite was and how gorgeous the views from its balcony were. We were very also positively surprised how child friendly the hotel felt. From every place being easily accessible with a stroller, little touches like a diaper bin in the bathroom or a complimentary child skin cream, to always friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel features a newly renovated wellness area which we also highly recommend! The warm swimming pool and jacuzzi were nice and clean, the former extending out of the building allowing to have a nice swim outside even in the colder November days. The fitness room - while clean and with a nice view - leaves a bit to be desired, though. Adding a flat bench would go a long way, helping those interested in resistance training to use the provided weights to do, e.g. chest presses. Soaking about equipment, I couldn’t help to notice Wi-Fi access points from Ubiquity on the corridors, helping to maintain stable Internet connection when doing video calls or while streaming data. Overall then, we had an extremely pleasant stay and we highly recommend this hotel.

Dear Hotel Belvedere, thank you for making our stay such wonderful experience! We loved our room with a lake view! The hotel is beautiful and elegant with the art pieces: sculptures and fascinating painting, also the posters with Locarno spirit. We enjoyed the wellness area, newly renovated and the lovely garden. The food was great and above of all the super friendly crew, always smiling and checking on us. And to add to that the beautiful birthday surprise! You know how to build special relationships. Lovely place! The interior gives you an opportunity to enjoy beautiful paintings and cosy atmosphere. The new Spa looks great! The staff is amazing and super professional! And last but not least- great cappuccino!

Fantastic hotel with a very professional team. The whole place is immaculate and very fresh. Each day when we returned to the room after breakfast the room had already been cleaned/serviced to a very high standard. The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was top quality. The service in the restaurant was first class (special shout out to waitress Asia). All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming (and spoke good English). Food choice was excellent and was backed up by a great wine list at reasonable prices. We tried some local wines and really enjoyed them. From right outside the hotel you can catch a bus into town (we preferred the 10 minute walk) or step onto the funicular railway up the mountain (it also goes down into town). Then take the cable car further up the mountain for a fabulous view. From there you can go even higher on the chairlift. Overall, we had a very relaxing break and felt really pampered.

Wonderful property with spectacular views. Beautiful grounds with many different areas to relax and enjoy a beverage, a game of yard chess, or a chat with friends and family. Wonderful location easily accessible by Funicular! They boast a wonderful restaurant called La Fontana. The food was delicious and the view magnificent!

We arrived at night after a bad experience with another hotel, the receptionist Melina was very kind and professional .she arranged everything that we needed ,very quickly( for us, our kid and the dog..). The room is big and comfortable, great terrace with a beautiful view. Breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed it at the garden. Highly recommended !

Had a good stay at Hotel Belvedere. Reception is quick to reply via email and we could plan our stay easily. Rooms very clean and spacious. We used the spa facilities which are good. Gym is tiny, good for cardio. Restaurant good as well and breakfast more the adequate.|Appreciated the hotel is open all year around with a fair price in low season.

Excellent hotel, good location especially if traveling by car. Not close to the lake but easily walkable. We stayed in one of the suites in the newer building, it was specious, modern and well equipped. Our suite had a big balcony with stunning view of the lake. Breakfast service was good, lots of healthy options and warm station. However some of the staff looked a little stressed. Negatives - pillows too soft. Pool and spa area were just ok.

Perfect hotel for a family holiday in sunny Ticino. My husband and I recently spent a lovely weekend in Locarno at the Hotel Belvedere with our baby and toddler. We booked the Junior Suite which can accommodate up to 4 adults and two children. The suite is very spacious with two bathrooms, ideal for a family. The hotel provided two baby beds and a diaper pail prior to our arrival. The huge balcony overlooks Lago Maggiore with the mountains in the backdrop, just amazing! Since The Belvedere is situated on the side of the mountain, the funicular nearby the hotel it super convenient and fun way to get down to the town, the lake and the train station (about 5 mins). It runs every 30 mins (more frequent in the summer). I do not recommend walking up (especially with a stroller) as the hilly streets are quite steep. The hotel offers a generous buffet breakfast to all guests! Add a gorgeous Veranda Restaurant with breathtaking views and you can ask for nothing more. The Oasis Spa had everything we were looking for. There's an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool with a divider in the middle. There's also has a sauna, a laconium, a Turkish bath, and a very small fitness room. Another added bonus is babysitting service. You have to book in advance of course. We booked a sitter for 3.5 hrs on a Saturday evening so we can enjoy some private couple spa time and dinner. Overall, this hotel had just about everything we were looking for and needed. The Belvedere would be our first choice the next time we visit Locarno!
