Hotel Belvedere Locarno

Hotel Belvedere did not disappoint, Johnathon at the front desk was amazing.|He arranged dinner recommendations and reservations. We rented bikes, he gave us a map, but also detailed directions for us. He definitely made this stay extra wonderful, definitely going the extra mile. The hotel is beautiful, we had a Panorama view room in the newer building, was spacious and a nice balcony to enjoy the views of Lake Maggiore. The spa is nice with saunas, steam and jacuzzi. Breakfast is a nice buffet, plenty of offerings. |Hotel is up the hill, there is a funicular, which we used the first day with luggage. |after that, we walked up and its a good little short cardio workout.|Locarno is such a nice town to spend a few days, we biked, hiked, explored and loved it.

Hotel Belvedere Locarno is absolutely wonderful! The spa is amazing and relaxing and perfect for unwinding. The pool and garden are stunning, with volleyball or beach tennis style or large chess to enjoy with family with beautiful views and such a peaceful atmosphere. Everything during my stay was great, from the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms and excellent service. A truly relaxing experience.. highly recommended!

This historic hotel is modernised to a high standard. It is very clean and comfortable. We had a lake facing room with a balcony and the views were magical. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant serves high quality food and is popular. Booking is advised. The funicular railway is nearby and this saves walking up the steep hill into the town. The hotel has its own request stop. Buy tickets at the hotel as they are cheaper. We enjoyed a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Belvedere Hotel.

Comfortable hotel in a well-known spot in Locarno, very close to the town centre. It is on the slope on the way to Madonna del Sasso, can reach either the town or the convent in 10-15 mins by foot. Rooms were nice, and we were in the new wing. Nice room overlooking the lake. With young children, note that there are a number of sharp corners in the room, so please take extra care. Hotel has their own carpark, with access either in the driveway, or in the interior carpark behind the building. We had no issues with the carpark. |The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful. |Only issue was the the hotel reception gave us a few inaccurate recommendations during our stay. For example, that children do not need to buy funicular tram tickets. Also some opening times of venues in the city, and travel suggestions. Would suggest to double check all recommendations from front desk.

Wonderful room with a balcony. Amazing views. Don't skip a meal at their great restaurant La Fontana.

Our Comfort Chic double room with a lake view was spacious and featured a large balcony with a beautiful view of Lake Maggiore. While the room's style felt a bit outdated, it didn’t detract from the overall positive experience, as everything else was excellent. The bathroom was modern with great shower pressure. Parking is available on-site. The restaurant, La Fontana, served fantastic food, making dining a real highlight of our stay. The hotel’s location, slightly above the city center, was perfect, offering a peaceful atmosphere with easy access to the downtown area.

Perfect hotel for a family holiday in sunny Ticino. My husband and I recently spent a lovely weekend in Locarno at the Hotel Belvedere with our baby and toddler. We booked the Junior Suite which can accommodate up to 4 adults and two children. The suite is very spacious with two bathrooms, ideal for a family. The hotel provided two baby beds and a diaper pail prior to our arrival. The huge balcony overlooks Lago Maggiore with the mountains in the backdrop, just amazing! Since The Belvedere is situated on the side of the mountain, the funicular nearby the hotel it super convenient and fun way to get down to the town, the lake and the train station (about 5 mins). It runs every 30 mins (more frequent in the summer). I do not recommend walking up (especially with a stroller) as the hilly streets are quite steep. The hotel offers a generous buffet breakfast to all guests! Add a gorgeous Veranda Restaurant with breathtaking views and you can ask for nothing more. The Oasis Spa had everything we were looking for. There's an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool with a divider in the middle. There's also has a sauna, a laconium, a Turkish bath, and a very small fitness room. Another added bonus is babysitting service. You have to book in advance of course. We booked a sitter for 3.5 hrs on a Saturday evening so we can enjoy some private couple spa time and dinner. Overall, this hotel had just about everything we were looking for and needed. The Belvedere would be our first choice the next time we visit Locarno!
