Very satisfied with our experience here! All the 5 star reviews make sense. The location and rooms are very clean. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Location is perfect - you are near the main street and center and short walk to the metro, which was so easy to get to and from the airport. Breakfast was fine, it was expensive but I think this is to be expected here. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to Copenhagen.

Amazingly well located in Nyhavn. We were able to walk to everywhere. |We had an early check-in organsed and lady at the front desk (sorry can't remember her name) was super friendly. Beds were very comfy. Bathroom was tiny and the hot water seemed to change a lot.. In saying that.. older building.. that can happen. Everything was super clean. We had a room facing the canal, and even with the window open, it wasn't too loud. ||We didn't have breakfast at the property, but the breakfast room looked cosy.||Would definilty rebook this hotel!

This hotel is wonderful! Everything was perfect. The rooms were spotless, and the staff were incredibly helpful—nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was perfect, with plenty of options to choose from. It's conveniently located in the heart of the city, close to the canal, harbour and all the important landmarks. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again! Aug 2025

This is such a great location hotel, right on the river and across from the famous postcard worthy Nyhavn. The service is wonderful and the rooms are perfect size and the beds were soooo comfy! It was pretty central to everything with bakeries within walking distance. The breakfast spread was excellent although not included in the price, so be aware. It is roughly $20 USD per person.

Is stayed in hotel bathel 41 night?We had to catch a flight really early.The next day. We were able to get in our room one hour before checking which was helpful. They provide luggage storage. Free coffee and tea is available in the lounge which is quite nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.Only thing was that the room was a little small like tight. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel is in the heart of Nyhaven which is the more touristy. I would recommend this hotel for short stays. Ohh, don't forget to go to the pub across the way.It's quite authentic.

Perfect location and great stay. Clean room and bathroom. Friendly and courteous staff. Complimentary WiFi and coffee available 24*7. Seating area at the coffee place and Library near the reception is really nice. Receptionist Mariam is friendly and helpful. She provided all the relevant information about Copenhagen - tourist attractions, Metro, etc.

Large, clean room with comfortable beds and sufficient toiletries and towels. Breakfast had a broad selection of cereals, breads, fruits, pastries, meats and freshly-cut cheese. The reception staff (the lady working the day and the gentleman working the evening) were extremely friendly, helpful, and made for a genuine and warm welcome - we appreciated that very much. The location on the river and the view were great.||It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room.

The hotel is one of the colourful buildings on Nyhavn.|We were allocated Room 222 which was a corner room that had fabulous views of the boats, restaurants & daily life down below. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed & seating area and it was all very fresh looking and clean. |The location is very convenient for bus stops and a metro that takes you to the airport as well as other parts of the city.|We arrived at approximately 11.am and were given a warm welcome by Mariam , she suggested we try a local restaurant to have lunch which unfortunately was closed so we went on a canal tour instead.|She informed us that she’d try to get our room ready early and she did, it was ready by the time we returned at 1pm - we were really grateful for her kind gesture especially as there was no awkward conversations about early check in charges!|The hotel also offered free teas & coffees in the decent size reception area which had plenty of seats, tables, books and lovely views.|Breakfast was a lovely selection of continental buffet - something for everyone! |Thank you Miriam & Ida - it was lovely to chat to you both.

It's such a cute little hotel that is owned by a non-profit that serves sailors. When we checked in, we had the most wonderful chat with the front desk lady (I lost my note, but I think her name is Miriam). She told us so much of the history of the hotel, so it just made the stay more special. It started as a safe place to stay for sailors and morphed over time to become what it is. She shared her knowledge of sites to see. The location was absolutely 5*. Look out the window and you see a postcard view of Copenhagen that everyone thinks of. The room itself wasn't fancy like a Ritz, but the cozy boutique atmosphere makes up for all that. The room was nice and clean, had a comfortable bed, lots of windows that open up to fresh air. It turned out there was a downside to that as well. People were out all night, so we could hear all the drunken singing in the street through the night, but that was not the fault of the hotel. Maybe the beer brewers, but not the hotel.

Its an average 3 star property with a cute common area. Rooms arent the cleanest-carpets and overall feel bit the location cant be beat. Its right on the canal at Nyhavn. Restaurants are close by and no need to travel far to get the pictureaque famous Copenhagen pic.

Will not return! Noisy and poor/no wifi internet so we left early and they refused to refund any portion even though we heard them give new guests a room as we left. The most important feature of a hotel is a comfortable bed and quiet room. We were pleased when we had rooms facing the inside courtyard (instead of the noisy street) but very early in the morning, we were rudely awaken to sustained loud clattering over cobblestones. The next most important feature is wifi internet: the wifi internet was spotty and kept dropping for 1.5 hours and then went down completed for over 1.5 hours and then we gave up; we reported it and it was not fixed. We stayed in 5 hotels across 5 cities in 3 countries and this was the worst hotel considering the cost. Their cancellation policy was not aligned with the other hotels (2 day cancellation vs. 1 day or same day cancellation). We stayed here based on the stellar reviews but were very disappointed. The hotel is located right on the Nyhavn canal in the heart of what had to be the most touristy area. It is a haul to get to the Little Mermaid or any good food. The beds are comfortable with a teeny bathroom (what you might expect on a cruise) with no counter space. There is 1 small Sony TV in 1 room with very little storage space. The included breakfast was good with cheese, cold cuts, cereals and breads (but in comparison to the other 4 Scandanavian hotels it was actually the least varied and Spartan). Don't make the mistake of staying here. You can get a better quieter hotel for the money!

Our stay at Hotel Bethel met our needs and exceeded our expectations. We booked this hotel at the recommendation of our son, a current Copenhagen resident, due to its location within the city. As you step out the front door you are on the picturesque canal seen in the pictures. Our room for 3 was large enough, considering we were only in the room to sleep. The internet worked and a fan which was in the room helped keep the temperatures down while sleeping. We had a courtyard facing room so noise was not an issue. The breakfast offered fresh pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and juices. The staff, for the most part, was accommodating. I made the mistake of asking one desk clerk for still bottled water and he promptly told me, "Just run your tap and get water. That is what we do." My husband asked for still bottled water two nights later and was given still bottled water! Should my son continue to live in Copenhagen, we will definitely stay here again!

This was a great place to stay. Slightly expensive, but definitely worth it. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the lobby has free tea/coffee 24/7, great breakfast buffet, nice rooms (smallish Scandinavian bathroom), fun courtyard, and fabulous location. We didn't mind the mild noise from the bustling street below. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others.

Somewhat shocked at the prices for hotel rooms in Copenhagen, my wife found Hotel Bethel to fit within our budget and be located in a great part of town. The hotel is located right on the Nyhavn canal across from a row of brightly colored postcard like buildings most with a bar or restaurant on the ground floor. To get here from the airport, it is a straight shot on the 66 bus or take the metro to Kongens Nytorv which is an easy 5 minute walk. Our corner room had great views of all the activity along this busy canal. Lots of windows made the spartan room bright and cheery. The king size bed (two twins put together) was comfortable. There is a big Sony TV in the corner but very little storage space. For the two nights here, we were living out of our suitcases. The room was not the quietest at night with the windows open (see the first sentence in this paragraph above) but without AC we had to leave them open. It didn't really bother us though after taking the red eye from the US. The bathroom had the bare essentials with a submarine size and style shower stuck in the corner. No counter space made it tricky to have everything in there that you needed. It did have a hair dryer though. The included breakfast was pleasant with cheese, cold cuts, cereals and breads. My wife and I both enjoyed it and appreciated their fancy cheese cutter. Too hard to explain in this short review. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Miriam on the second shift particularly so. She gave the locals take on where to go (or not) with our limited time here. Bottom line is the Hotel Bethel is clean, comfortable, well priced and very conveniently located in Copenhagen.

Rick Steves recommends this place, so there's that. My mother and I had a room that was off of the main road, but we did still hear some clattering over cobblestones super early in the morning. Our friends who had a room on Nyhavn, well it was graduation weekend so people were partying all night. Now, very comfortable rooms. Modern, you put your key card in to turn on the lights so you cannot waste electricity when you aren't there. Comfortable size and linens. Good service and tasty continental breakfast. Helpful in telling/ calling or assisting w/ calling taxi's for the airport (though they do have uber here). Location, location, location. Walking distance to shopping to your hearts content, restaurants, boat tour etc etc. You'd need to cab or bike to see lil' ms. mermaid though, that's another review, eh.

Quaint little hotel located right on Nyhavn and we chose it just for the location. However, the service ended up being nice as well and the view from our window out to see the canals everyday really helped with it. The room isn't fancy by any means and is a bit small with thin walls, because we can hear our neighbors snoring, but it was a great little place for a stop for a few nights. We didn't stay at this hotel the entire time we were in Copenhagen so it was just enough for a night or two.

Cute hotel with a great location. I loved that I got to see the beautiful colorful buildings along the Nyhavn Canal everyday during my stay in Copenhagen. The staff was very nice and helpful. Double room had a decent size for european standard. Complimentary breakfast was good.

We loved this hotel! It was so cute... right on the canal. The employees were (mostly) very helpful and friendly. The bed was so soft! It wasn't a fancy room - kind of smaller but had its own private bathroom. In the morning they served a lovely breakfast. They also had coffee and tea all day long. It seemed very clean and we enjoyed our stay.
