Really enjoyed our 3-night stay at Hotel Bienvenue. The location in the 9th arrondisement is ideal -- away from the tourist masses but still in the heart of Paris with lots of nice bakeries, cafes, cheese shops, etc. nearby on Rue des Martyrs. The area also feels safe, even at night. After arriving at Gare du Nord, it was a surprisingly short and affordable ($11) cab ride to the hotel. The hotel is located on a pedestrian-only block of Rue Buffault, so you don't have to dodge traffic with your luggage. The staff was super friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and arranging a cab to come pick us up at the end of our stay. Our triple room was on the small side, but both the regular bed and sleeper sofa were comfy. Having arrived during a heat wave, we were especially grateful to have AC in the room. Our little room felt like the only air conditioned space in Paris and was lovely to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. If you plan to use the Metro like we did, the hotel puts you a short walk from 3 different stations: Cadet, Le Peletier and Notre Dame-de-Lorette.

I spent one week in this cute little boutique Hotel in the 9th arrondissement. The hotel is very well located, only 5´ away from the subway with plenty of restaurants nearby. Nice and helpful staff, generous with the delicious bonbons at the reception. Great Dyptique products. And an absolute bonus is that in the triple room the third person actually has a real bed with a comfy mattress. The bathrooms could use some freshing up but all-in-all very good value for money!

Words can't describe how amazing this hotel and staff are! The hotel itself is beautiful with a private courtyard. The rooms are small but that's Paris! Bed was extremely comfortable - I don't think I have slept that good in a long time. Staff are all amazing. The housekeepers are very polite and quick! I had left my room at 11 am (check out time) for early lunch and returned just after noon to my room already cleaned, new dishes laid out, and fresh bottle of water. The receptionists were all very polite and helpful. It is true that the rooms are not sound proof. Honestly, it added to the aesthetic of the hotel. It is an older building - well maintained - so soundproof should not be expected. The hotel is in a golden location. Close to train stations and transit but far enough away from the main tourists spots that the streets are not crowded - tourist spots are still in walking distance! I only used transit 3 times in 5 days while I stayed at this hotel. The view from the room was amazing. I loved having the window open and hearing birds and guests from the courtyard. This is a hotel for guests that want a Paris expierence - is that not the point of traveling? I plan to return to Paris and hope to have the same room for each visit!

Hotel reception had some problems finding our booking initially because of the name (asian first/last name issue) but overall a pleasant stay. Hotel location is great, walking distance from Cadet station and bus stops close by. Room and toilet is abit small for two adults but we expected that when we made our booking. Hotel staff were friendly throughout our stay. Do note that there is a tourist tax the hotel will collect upon checkout.

Like many Parisian hotels the rooms are compact but fine for two people. The shower has particularly good water pressure which is fabulous after a long flight. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We arrived early in the morning. The hotel stored our luggage and we had access to les toilettes to refresh and change so we could explore Paris. The location is great for getting around Paris using either Metro or bus. It’s quiet and the bed/pillow are comfortable. I will stay here on my next trip to Paris.

Hotel is charming and the staff is ex optional. Fabulous location with many delicious and affordable restaurants nearby. Super easy to get to all sites. Could not have been a better experience.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great experience. The location is very close to Gare du Nord, but it’s surprisingly quiet in the mornings and evenings. I felt very safe throughout my stay. There are plenty of breakfast spots, cafés, and supermarkets nearby, which made everything super convenient. It’s also close to Montmartre, opera, Lafayette.the bus stop is right outside, and the metro is just a short walk away. Overall, an extremely convenient and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended!

Torn between 3 and 4 stars on this one. The location is perfect - walkable to gare du Nord, good metro stations, lots to do the area, safe. The hotel itself is sweet, the rooms are nicely decorated and dyptique shampoo / lotion / etc is a nice touch. I would say the room size is fairly normal for Paris. The courtyard is nice although we did not get to enjoy it with the rain. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable. The only downside - and it is quite a big downside - is the lack of soundproofing between rooms. I could hear people talking beside and above me in rooms and unfortunately it is mostly groups of loud girls so a lot of screaming and chatting until late in the night. If you are a light sleeper you will have difficulty. I considered calling down to reception multiple times because of the sound, but there is likely not much they can do. The receptionist was not very friendly or forthcoming either, so I did not feel it is something I should even bother doing. Otherwise, noise from the street was quiet and there is a small lift for heavy suitcases. I likely wouldn’t stay again because of the noise which is a shame as the hotel is lovely. I would also raise that you have to leave your keys at reception when you leave - I was advised it was for security but I expect it is because the keys are old and they don’t want you to lose the key and have to replace it. That’s fine, but there is no security to then make sure you are who you say you are when you give your room number and pick up a key, so that is a bit odd.

Yelp
This hotel has so much potential, but is visibly lacking upkeep. Style is great, their front desk staff is kind but the rooms are tired and worn. Upon checking in, we were given a room with gnats, lots of mold, a cracked toilet seat, worn carpet, and overall musty smell. We asked to move rooms but every double room was full that night, so the staff accommodated switching our rooms the following day and applied a discount to our stay for the first night. However, the room we were moved to was tired and worn once again with dirty carpet, signs of mold, crooked sconces, and scratched up walls. Beds were also uncomfortable. Location is good, they need to address the mold, give it a deep clean and do some repair work. Not what I would expect for a four star hotel. Wish we would've stayed while it was being cared for and hope they turn it around.

Yelp
Located in the 9th Arrondissement, the Bienvenue is tucked away on a short one way street with a couple of other small hotels. Close to a good number of restaurants & shops with a couple of grocery stores around the corner. We had a triple room with 3 twin beds. Looked like they had quadruple rooms available also. Our room was small (ok as we didn't come to Paris to sit in a hotel room). The bathroom was very small & ours could've used a new shower door as it leaked. The room has a safe & mini bar although ours didn't keep the drinks cold. That said, we were here in late June during the heatwave & the air conditioner kept our room cool & comfortable. There is a nice terrace for meals and drinks. Although we didn't eat at the restaurant, the aroma was enticing. Elevator is one person only & an experience. If you're on a higher floor you'll get some exercise. Overall, ok with some old world charm & something different from the chain hotels. Extra star for the friendly and helpful staff & location.

Yelp
This cute little boutique hotel located in the 9th was such a great little find. The branding and design are super fun, the courtyard is a great place to have your morning coffee and the rooms were decorated nicely! The elevator in the building was easily the smallest of ever seen but, don't be alarmed as all the nuts and bolts have been updated to 2019 standards. Even still, I avoided because I don't love European elevators. ;) Friendly staff, great location and a great little breakfast if you're interested. For me, it's a Parisian crossiant outside of the hotel lobby.

Yelp
This was a great hotel with a great location very close to the Caday metro station. It was also like 100 meters from a small grocery store that came in handy as you pass it when you go to and from the metro. The hotel staff was very accomodating and spoke English very well. Our room stay came with a free breakfast that was ample and held us over well. We stayed with another family and we both agreed that this was a great place to stay. Also recommend buying metro tickets buy the week. It was a better deal. My only.comment to the hotrl.would be to have the cleaning folks scrub the tiles a bit harder as we had some of the orange colored mildew in the shower on floor 1.
