This Underrated Mexico Destination Is Set Across 9 Bays — With Laid-back Beach Towns, Bioluminescent Waters, and Charming Hotels

"Hotel Binniguenda Huatulco is much more centrally located to La Crucecita, though it's technically in Bahía de Santa Cruz. The all-inclusive resort has 77 guest rooms, a long list of restaurants, a private beach club, and a spa." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We absolutely loved this hotel. We were worried about Hurricane Erick, but we missed it by a week. We traveled from June 25-July 2. It was hot, but there was no rain during the day. There was only one night during our stay that it rained. We lived the food and the staff the most. Everyone was so nice and friendly, especially toward our children. This is a very family friendly resort where children are very much welcomed. We loved the pool area and also loved that we were able to visit their sister hotel Niru. Thank you for making our stay so great. We will definitely return. ||We highly recommend the 7 bahias tour. Also the Cascadas (waterfall) tour. ||

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. I am not sure how they have so many great reviews. The hotel has had no updates since 1980s. The food is beyond edible. The rooms are falling apart and the staff is very rude. This is not an all inclusive hotel as the hotel states. You need to go in a shuttle to their sister hotel to enjoy the extra amenities.do not be fooled by the pictures the beach club is no where near the hotel. Stay away from this hotel. The only positives were the surrounding beaches we frequented and ate at amazing beach restaurants.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Binniguenda Huatulco! The service, food, and atmosphere were top-notch, but what truly made my experience unforgettable was the amazing entertainment team—especially Catherine, one of the dancers.||Thanks to her and the rest of the staff, my vacation felt special from beginning to end. I highly recommend Hotel Binniguenda to anyone visiting Huatulco you’ll have a great time

My husband and I spent a week at Binniguenda March/April. It was fantastic! It is not your typical all inclusive...and that's what we loved about it. It was small, allowing you to get to know staff and guests. It hosts many Mexican tourists which added to its local culture. It was super clean. While the beach club is spectacular, I fell in love with the terraced garden as it held a multitude of birds. A little piece of heaven! Jenn

We stayed 5 nights, in a King room on the second floor with a view of the pool. ( lots of sound from the happy children in the pool until well into the night and evening). Our room was well air conditioned; the bed was very comfortable. Viviana checked us in upon our arrival and was very welcoming. We had great interaction with her at the front desk throughout our stay. Our room wasn’t ready as we arrived quite early in the day, so we visited the Chachacual Snack Bar for a drink and a snack. Tomas looked after us, and remembered our names for the rest of our stay. We had breakfast and dinner daily in the Palapa Chahué buffet restaurant. There is ample seating both in the large Palapa style restaurant and there is also an adjacent courtyard area where we had most of our meals. There is an omelette/egg station at breakfast, and check for special offerings here, such as fish tacos, at dinner time. Lots of selections to choose from. Nightly shows, except Sundays, at 9, provided great entertainment. Special thanks for their attention go out to servers, Talia, Noemi, Gaby and Lorenzo. Everyone did a great job, and remembered our names as well! We would recommend this resort for couples, or families, especially with children. Lots of fun at the pool, and of course, with frequent shuttles, the Nirú Beach Club is a must. We spent all of our four days here at the beautiful pool, and it’s an easy 10 minute walk if you prefer a little light exercise. Check out my review of the Beach Club for more info and photos. Tangolunda restaurant We enjoyed a fine dinner in this reservation only restaurant on the premises of Binniguenda. When making our reservation, we were provided with photographs of acceptable dress for dinner as it is a formal venue. As I was travelling light, I only had jeans as long pants, but as they were dress jeans, with no rips, they were okay. As for my shoes, I had white Sketchers, laced, so they were okay too. A collared shirt was also fine. The food was very good, though the portions were small. However, this is not a criticism as we did not go hungry at the resort at any time. This is a nice quiet evening and well recommended. Thanks to Thonny and Noemi for great service.

Stayed with my husband at this hotel for 7 nights in March. The hotel is small and charming with beautiful grounds. The room was basic but clean with a comfy bed and good AC. The location is great, close to beaches and town. ||Niru Beach Club is a short 6-7 minutes walk from the hotel. There is also a shuttle available, but we didn't use it. Beach club is really nice with a great pool and beautiful views of the bay. ||The food was okay. The lunch at Niru beach was good with plenty of choices. We were out a lot and had dinner at the hotel just once. Drinks were excellent at both the hotel and beach club. We really enjoyed the drinks at the hotel bar at night. The bartender was great( sorry, I forgot his name) | |Wi-Fi connection was hit and miss. Sometimes, it worked just fine and sometimes didn't work at all. That would not bother me if I didn't have to work.||Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon. ||

Stay away from this hotel. This hotel has not had any updates since it was built in the 80s. The food was awful, only one restaurant in hotel and it was buffet style. I’m ok with buffets but this was beyond inedible. The rooms need to be updated, water spills from shower, musty smell. The only good thing about this place is proximity to local beaches. This hotel also uses pictures from its partner hotel NIRU, this hotel is not located on the beach nor is the beach club close, you are shuttled to beach club.
