Hotel Blue Conga

Great hotel, the owner Stephanie is super friendly and helpful. It was very clean with a cute pool/ hangout area. My only complaint is no AC and our room never seemed to have hot water. It is a pretty short walk into town and to a few restaurants, as well as to the beaches.

Great place to stay, easy access to downtown, beaches, bars, jungle. European owner knows how to take care of guests. Clean place, no AC, just fans. Microwave, small fridge in a room. Good breakfast included with your stay. Lot of wild life to see around this place. Tucked off main street, quiet, safe. Laundry service available.

Super nice hotel, close to downtown, a lot of bars & restaurant and to the beach. But still the feeling like beeing in the middle of the jungle. The owner is very friendly and helpful, she had really nice recommendations about the best things to do. She help us organizing an awesome trip to the BriBri village with a local guide.

Beware of room number 8! Shower scalding hot or cold, gives you electric chocks if you touch it, so should not be used. Water flow in hand basin very poor. Mattress damaged with hollow on one side of the double bed. No mosquito net. Cleaning could be better. On the whole a rather run-down place.

Stephany, the manager, was very kind and at disposal for any needs. The Place was very cute and quite. We loved the amazing king size bed and the wonderful breakfast located in a very nice place.. High reccomended ✌️🏝️

Let me take a moment to headline the accommodations, Stéphanie Caracol the manager of the Blue Conga and her team. The rooms are very clean, all of the staff are VERY friendly and are accommodating. With Stephanie’s connections and local knowledge she will arrange whatever experience you are looking for. From zip lines to jungle walks or beach time I’ve found her to be extremely helpful ..

I think this place might be okay for some but it is not my preference. It might be good for young adults that like to party and stay up late but I don't think it is a good place for kids. Expect an excuse why things are not done properly or not working (the multiple excuses I got why we only had cold water were seriously enjoyable... and don't believe it only takes 2 minutes for the imaginary hot water to come on... one of the front desk attendants was finally honest with me and said they had to turn it on... just plan to take cold showers if you stay here). The possible boyfriend of the owner Stephanie told me to be "purda vida" about the hot water... what... seriously? That still puts a smile on my face. One day no one got towels in our group. We had one used one from the previous day that we shared; I did ask for a clean one but didn't get one. Maybe laundry is also "purda vida" lol. You will know this guy by his amazing dreadlocks. One of the workers did give the finger to one of our students staying there... which weirdly didn't surprise me at that point... hey its just "purda vida." If you don't care about these things the location is good. It is not on the beach... but close. For those with allergies there are dogs and a horse that live on the property.

Blue Conga is set in Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, 200 metres from the beach and 1 km from Puerto Viejo de Limón. It offers a lush tropical garden, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Each bright room has a private patio. The private bathroom comes with a shower and free toiletries. Breakfast is available at Blue Conga’s traditional restaurant, The Rancho, which has a cooling palm-leaf roof. Laundry and massage services are offered. There is a library and you can hire a bicycle from the tour desk.
