Summary: 38 minutes to check in one family before me, disgusting hygiene at breakfast (ants crawling all over the pastries) and paper thin walls which meant I could hear the snoring from the next room. Average IQ of the staff must be below room temperature. This was by far the worst check in experience I have ever had. It took the dim-witted girl with long dark hair, 38 minutes to check in a single family. Not only did she have a very low IQ, she had zero awareness of the large number of guests accumulating as they waited for her to painstakingly accept every phone call and get distracted by something every 2 minutes. There was a horrible older lady with blond hair at the front desk who was doing nothing and had the temperament that would be better suited to an abattoir or prison. She had the nerve to snap at me when I asked how much longer it would take and only then did she actually start to assist - when I was reading through these reviews I already saw that there were a number of complaints about this older woman in the reviews. The amount of disgust and disdain she treated me with when I asked how much longer it would take is just extraordinary. I’m surprised she still has a job despite the number of guests that have complained about her. I missed my walking tour as I didn’t think it would take 38 minutes to check in one family, and this is coming from someone who stayed in 87 hotels last year and travels a lot for work. I would never come back here. I am gobsmacked this place has an average 4 star rating as the hygiene levels of this place were also off - ants across the breakfast food, dirty swimming pool… I would NEVER come back here

Lovely hotel close to the tram from Porto and the breakwater and promenades where the Douro meets the Atlantic. Panoramic views from the rooftop terrace (as it says on the tin!). Good breakfast and professional staff . About 20mins by taxi from Airport.

Great location, amazing view from the rooftop bar. Breakfast is not impressive, but okay (scrambled eggs made from egg powder). The double bed in our room was small (slim).

For the price AND the location. This hotel is brilliant. Maybe the rooms are not the best thing in history, but they are very affordable, the location couldn't be better, the staff are very helpful and there's a pool in the terrace.

Had a great stay here. Just outside the main town which is a short bus journey. Bus stop is very close, number 500. Pay via cash €2.50 or €1 via credit card. (April 2025)

A warm welcome and great team on front desk including Luisa, Yuri and Nuno who greeted us with a smile at all times of day. Spacious room 113. Ensuite had a good walk in shower and was well lit with good mirrors. The room was not so well lit. Could do with more drawers and shelf space. Always beautifully made up when we came back at end of day. They were quick to fix a flickering light. Curtains cut light out well. Always a pleasant greeting for breakfast which had good variety, nice coffee and excellent fresh fruit. |Overall we would recommend Boa Vista highly, and it was a great location to be close to the city but right by the sea. Best of all worlds! Some good restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Great rooftop terrace and pool.

The rooms & location are very good but we found the reception staff to be very unhelpful &;unfriendly. When asked information about tours or other tourist info, not only were they not very knowledgeable but they also had no interest in helping.

We stayed at the Boa Vista in early August 2024 for 4 nights after catching the train there from Lisbon. The hotel for us was ideally located at Foz do Douro which is at the mouth of the Douro river where it runs into the Atlantic Ocean. Its location gave us easy access to both the hustle and bustle of the riverside Ribeira district and to the Atlantic Coast side with its beaches. By the way , in case anyone didn’t know, the Atlantic Ocean is very cold. You can easily walk from the hotel in either direction along perfectly flat riverside and coastal pavements. I would estimate that the walk from the hotel into Porto takes about a hour. The public transport in Porto is fantastic and the number 500 bus will also take you in either direction for €2.50. There is also the option of taking one of the historic trams from nearby the hotel into Porto for , I think, €6..|The hotel itself is very clean throughout.our room was sparse but perfectly comfortable with a large bathroom and a great shower. The buffet breakfast was good and would certainly set you up for the day’s adventures. An added bonus was the rooftop bar which afforded excellent views and a welcoming cold drink at the end of the day. The rooftop pool was smaller than I had envisaged but I hadn’t planned to use it anyway. We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel and as a base of operations it suited us perfectly
