We stayed at Hotel Bohemian Garni – Skadarlija between 27–29 December 2025.
We had already purchased a double premium room in advance. At check-in, the receptionist made a misleading statement such as “we did you a favor and upgraded you to a suite.” However, the room we were given was located on the 4th-floor attic level, had poor insulation, and was freezing cold. Even though the air conditioning was running for hours, the room barely warmed up, and we were cold throughout the stay. This room clearly did not meet either premium or suite standards.
The main issue occurred during breakfast on the morning of 29 December. The cheese served on my plate contained a hair, which was extremely unpleasant. When we informed the staff member, instead of apologizing, he simply removed the plate, took out the hair, and brought the same plate back. This behavior is unacceptable both in terms of hygiene and basic respect toward guests. I have a photo of this incident.
During the same breakfast, the same staff member asked for an extra charge for a filter coffee. After already experiencing a hygiene issue, being approached in this manner was extremely rude and unprofessional, especially considering that we had paid for a two-night stay.
We also experienced a problem with the payment. Although we were told that the payment would be processed in the local currency, our card was charged in USD, resulting in additional exchange costs. This was not clearly disclosed in advance.
In summary, due to the room conditions, staff attitude, hygiene problems, and lack of transparency in payment, this was a very disappointing experience. We regret choosing this hotel and definitely do not recommend it.
