We were a group, but the hotel staff didn't prepare the rooms in advance, so we had to wait to know in which room we were supposed to stay.. The food was ok, breakfast was very poor but delicious. Rooms weer ok, but only one electricity plug, bathroom was full of watwr after we take a shower.

The hotel is placed on a small street but close to the center. We had parking in front of the hotel. Is like a villa because I can't name it Hotel. The room is in vintage style, with a very small bathroom and without a proper shower. The lady from restaurant doesn't speak English.. Only the girl from reception. We didn't eat there.. We only had a drink. The breakfast was good and tasty but do not think that they had variaty.

Since I could not find a separate area for the Hotel Bolyarka's restaurant, I am going to combine the hotel review and restaurant review in one entry here.||||Hotel Bolyarka is a perfectly quaint accommodation in the perfectly quaint smallest town in Bulgaria, Melnik. Our corner room was nicely furnished with dresser, TV, and balcony. It was very cold in there, however, even though the heat was on. We rectified this by leaving the heat on when we went out, using the second space heater they generously donated, and by using the extra blankets provided. We discovered by the second day that just leaving the regular heater on all day was sufficient. The bathroom is not heated, and has the shower positioned directly across from the toilet, with no curtain. We strategically placed various towels to absorb the water and try to keep the toilet dry.||||We really enjoyed the little balcony with a nice view of the town, and the light coming in from the windows or our corner room. The extra heavy blankets were also much appreciated.||||The owners are lovely and were willing to prepare anything we wanted for breakfast. We has eggs, toast, cheese, and ham. Dinner was a special delight--local, local local ingredients and recipes. We had owner-made rakia and wine, awesome! The shopska salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber), cabbage stuffed with pork, and chicken in a clay pot were both delicious. We were the only guests, and sitting by the fire was heavenly.||||We highly recommend the Hotel Bolyarka for your trip to Melnik!

The room is awful. I dont know how this place has 3 stars. It doesnt deserve even half a star. Very expensive for the provided quality. Very noisy, you can hear what is happening in every room and in the restaurant. In the morning you wake up from the sound of a vacuum cleaner at 10am. The restaurant is good, although a bit expensive but in Melnik everything is expensive except the wine.

Nice hotel in brilliant setting. Host very good let us choose which room we preffered. They were around the back of the hotel up a very rough path. All were large and airy the one we choose had a huge double bed unfortunatley it was a bit lumpy and rather uncomfortable. The rest was very good and clean with plenty of hot water in the basic bathroom with open shower.

We did not stay at the hotel, however, we read on the internet that the restaurant was excellent and the items from the grill were outstanding (especially the ribs). The owner is a friendly fellow that loves his establishment. He spoke with us about how he could accommodate what we wanted to eat and make all in the party happy. We had a fantastic salad with fresh vegetables, an assorted grill platter, and a special meat roast that he had prepared that day for a large group. The price was a bit higher than the other restaurants in the center, but it was worth it for us. It felt like you were a guest in his home. Definitely try the homemade ice cream with figs and walnuts for dessert!

The location is the only thing that is good about this place. The room was dirty, full of cigarette marks, the sheets were old and broken, it was cold and the fireplace was not offered to be light on when we complained it was cold. We arrive for breakfast at 9:15 and there was no more bread left or coffee, they didn't offer anything thing else even when breakfast time was until 10.

Clean, traditionally decorated hotel with OK wifi. I was happy to stay there. Breakfast was included with our room and was very tasty: eggs, ham, cheese, jam, and lots of toast. This is a perfect place to stay in the winter with a wood burning fireplace and great heat in the room.
