The rooms were not as clean as they should be – the windows were dusty, and you definitely shouldn’t look under the bed. Overall, the rooms are quite small and feel old. Breakfast was okay, but very basic: just bread, cheese, eggs, some meat, and yogurt – not much variety. The guy at the front desk was unfortunately not very friendly. He never greeted us, and when we asked for help, he didn’t seem motivated at all. That’s not the kind of attitude you’d expect in the tourism business. The location is good – it’s close to the lake, and Montreux is a beautiful place. Definitely worth visiting, but I’d recommend staying at a different hotel.

The room is nice but smaller than expected. It was a super sunny and warm they and they left the room all closed and the blankets on the bed were a bit too thick for this time of the year and the heat. The staff was very nice, there is a kettle in the room to make a tea or coffee as well.

The hotel is close to the lake and has all the essentials you need for a good stay. However, as we stayed during the summer, the room is rather stuffy as our room does not come with a fan or air con. There was no wind at night despite opening the windows. If you are staying in Montreux during summer, we recommend to book a room with a fan at least. They serve good croissants for breakfast though, we really like it! Also to mention, the male staff at the counter is friendly :)

The worst is the receptionist man, impolite, rude and unfriendly. He doesn't even say hello or have a simple smile to his guest. He doesn't want to cooperate or support. He is arrogant. Totally opposite on what should be someone welcoming his clients. The rooms are very old and the worst is the sunk mattress. Better stay in another hotel. They don't deserve 3* ... I work in tourism industry for decades and I think they are more like a hostel or 2* hotel max.

HEALTH HAZARD! DO NOT STAY HERE! Not only were there two cockroaches in our room (in a single night, as far as we could see....) but the way the staff refused to deal with it was abominable. We reported the cockroaches to the reception right away, to which we got the answer the manager is not in house and it will be passed on to him/he will reach out. As he did not, we gave a call after our stay - only to be told that we did not contact the hotel during our stay, that this never happened, and if it had happened we should have contacted the reception (which we, as mentioned, obviously did). This hotel is horrendous and the price, though seeming attractive at first in comparison to other options in the area, is horrific for the (lack of) services provided. See attached the cockroaches after we hunted and killed them (this was disgusting and we could not sleep all night).

Bon Port at Montrex was a wonderful place. Cosy rooms. They even gave us the rivera card for tourists which helped us travel through the city hassle free. The people at the reception were very helpful n guided us well by providing bus routes, time, locations, n other details. Making our stay comfortable n convenient. Bon Port is located in a good place with quick access to stores, bus stops, McD, Subways etc. Highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in the Hôtel Bon Port for the 3 nights of September 27-29, 2024.||The hotel is basic, but correct.|It is situated in an ideal location of Montreux; it is located on the Rue de la Theatre and is just a stone's throw away from the Casino/Place du Marche and all the area's main attractions.||I was travelling solo; I was staying in Room 106 and it was perfectly acceptable for what it was.|My only complaint would be that it was a little small, but such is life.|I would recommend this hotel overall; it would be very handy for solo, couples or even group travellers.||The hotel staff were very approachable and friendly at all times; One thing to take note of, however, is that the reception desk is not manned after 11p.m. at my time of writing. You must ensure to bring your room key along with you when stepping out for the evening, as you will need it to gain access to the building proper after 11p.m.||To conclude, I thought the Hôtel Bon Port was basic, but correct.|It was in a perfect location for experiencing Montreux and its' offerings for the first time.||I would stay here again.

This hotel was awesome. (It’s also very affordable) I stayed here for 1 night with my parents and the room was amazing. We got 2 huge beds and 1 bunk bed. It was very comfortable to sleep in. I didn’t notice anything weird in this hotel besides the shower. It’s kind of like a spray. The location is excellent as it’s very close to the lake and many things our family wanted to do. They even gave me a free bottle of water and candies when leaving!

Yelp
Starting with the beddings there was a few broken springs in the mattress. The pillows were fairly empty like sleeping with only the casing. Into the shower there is no hard walls on a box shower footprint. The spray for the shower is stuck on mist and is impossible to not get a minimum a gallon of water on the floor. This means there is black mold everywhere in the curtains to the grout. The air is stagnate requiring the windows to be open. On a first floor you would think you will be safe but it is at street level where someone could walk into the room. The trash is right outside this window and the trucks came twice in a 3 day stay. The walls are extremely thin hearing anyone in any room above, below, or sides moving or in the bathroom.

Yelp
Problem: You're traveling in Europe with two teenaged boys and you're lucky if you can find a room with a bed and a foldout couch for all four of you. Solution: Rent two rooms, if you can afford it. And that's where the Hôtel Bon-Port comes in. It was affordable enough to rent two rooms, and just nice enough so that you were pleased with your choice. Nothing fancy- just clean, simple rooms. The breakfast (for 11 CHF) was more than adequate. Elea at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Best of all, you were an easy walk away from the beautiful lakeside promenade, the Freddy Mercury statue, and many shops and restaurants. We only stayed in Montreux for the Cheese and Chocolate Train, but I would recommend that anyone should come stay a night or two here. It's an affordable hotel in a beautiful city.

Yelp
We needed a place to stay after a day of touring Gruyères and Broc (on the Chocolate/Cheese train) and settled on this place. We needed room for four of us, so we got two rooms. For our needs, as a budget hotel, it was actually better than expected. The location is nice: not too far and simple to navigate to from the train station, and you can follow the path along the water to see the Freddy Mercury memorial statue and find some restaurants and what I think is a shopping mall. The rooms were nothing special, but clean and quiet. The showers are pretty small by American standards, but functional. Be aware that the provided "all-purpose cleanser" is what you get for shampoo and soap. I found it worked fine for me, but my wife said the scent was too masculine and she needed conditioner. For Europe, I felt that the breakfast buffet was a bargain at 11 CHF/person. There was coffee, croissants (still warm when we arrived at the beginning of the service), juice, milk, cereal, muesli, fruit, meat, cheese, yogurt and more. Check in and check out were easy, both handled by Elea, who spoke English and also went out of her way to locate a feather-free pillow for our son with allergies. If we're ever in the area again, I would stay here. Montreux was not on our list, but it is a beautiful spot on the shore of Lake Geneva and worth a stay.
