Hotel Borgo Grondaie Siena

What a lovely, lovely hotel. Set in beautiful grounds with a lovely pool area and just 10mins by taxi to Siena. A calm hideaway from the busy city. What makes this hotel extra special is the staff. Incredibly friendly and they just cannot do enough for you - all with a smile. Would highly recommend.

This is really the best location you could imagine to stay in Siena! The views from the hill over the old town are breathtaking, and the surrounding nature is very nice . There’s a big supermarket COOP just a 5-minute walk away. The hotel offers a big clear pool, delicious breakfasts, and exceptionally friendly staff — always ready to help - make restaurant reservations, call a taxi, and so much more. There is also a laundry service, which help us more times during our week-long stay. This hotel give for us increadeble experience in Tuscany ! We will definitely come back again. ❤️

Dont get the breakfast. Old fruit, the heals of the bread. Old ham couldn't eat any of it and cost 26euro. I've had better everywhere else for less than 10euros. Feel hoodwinked of this one. The room was nice but better do your own breakfast dishes the bring you or else they will charge you another 50euro.

I stayed here for July Palio.||POSITIVES -|Very friendly, helpful & professional staff.|Quiet & peaceful setting.|Nice breakfast (must be pre-ordered day before).|Good size room.|Tea/coffee facilities in room.|Swimming pool.|10 min walk to large CO-OP supermarket.||NEGATIVES -|Dark rustic room. Quite musty.|Air-con just about fit for purpose; very old & needs upgrading.|No shade or parasols at the pool. This has been a repeated issue from guests, but hasn’t been addressed.|10€ taxi to station (1 mile).|The evening I stayed in, unfortunately the hotel wasn’t serving food & the supermarket was closed (half day Wed).||It’s a 15min walk to the station & escalators; then a further 20mins into heart of city. Doesn’t sound a lot, but it is in 35C heat (not hotels fault).||If you stay here without a car; be prepared to walk in the heat or spend on taxis.

This hotel is in beautiful surroundings and close to the station and a big store. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The place is also a walk up a very steep driveway and there is no help to negotiate this if you’re not driving or have mobility problems. The en-suite bathroom was too small and crowded. It was difficult to get in and out of the shower because of the sink and a towel rack. It was also difficult to position on the toilet as space was so tight. If they removed the bidet and the towel rack under the sink that would help. It has a wonderful outdoor swimming pool in a great location. However its underused because its not heated - it was really quite cold - but I went in anyway! There isn't an on-site restaurant, but they do a great breakfast selection. And in the evening they will do a plate of cold meats and/or cheese and bread, if you just want a light meal.

I stayed here for one night during my road trip in Tuscany. Unfortunately, the weather was gloomy and rainy the whole time. After checking out, I took a short walk around the hotel and discovered their beautiful garden with a great view overlooking the city. Further up, there is also a swimming pool. It’s a shame that the weather was so bad, but I can imagine how wonderful it would be to spend time in the garden on a sunny day. The staff were very warm and friendly, and the room and facilities were excellent. The hotel has its own parking lot, which is perfect for travelers on a road trip. The breakfast was amazing. If I visit Siena again, I will definitely stay here.

We had a fantastic time at Borgo Grondaie staying in the Cipresso apartment. We travelled with a 3 year old child, and they were very accommodating. The pool was beautifully maintained and in a great location in their extensive gardens. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, and all spoke excellent English. The quality of the cleaning was excellent and the kitchen in the Cipresso apartment was very well equipped.

This old style Tuscan farm house, set just out of Siena, is totally worth the taxi ride or 30-40 walk in 35 degrees heat to Sian main Square.||Oldish style but it adds to the charm. The gardens are magical and the swimming pool is well kept and a fabulous addition.||The breakfast on the terrace in the morning was a pleasure.||All staff completely friendly and very helpful.||Taxi costs €10 to Siena.||Would recommend and return
