This hotel provides the highest level of service. The restaurant staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed being served by Genesis, Alexis, Carlos and Shirley and many others. Though I never met the chef, the food was always beautifully prepared and delicious. I dined only at this hotel because the food and service were consistently excellent. The staff take great care to ask about food preferences and allergies and we were thankful for that. ||The front desk personnel are friendly and helpful. When the air cooler in our room started to leak they fixed it immediately and used the opportunity to also provide excellent room maid service. The rooms were spotless and so clean. Thank you Maureen! ||Thank you for a wonderful stay.|Debi from Shoreline, WA, USA

I stayed at this hotel during my swimming holiday. The hotel turned out to be the highlight of my trip. Such a beautiful location with such caring and attentive staff who went the extra mile to ensure my stay was spectacular. From Maite, Bryan and Juan Carlos getting me checked in (cool refreshing towel and local fruit treat) to the restaurant staff of Carlos, Alexis and Shirley greeting me and making me feel special. The rooms are immaculate and sometimes was surprised with a towel creature. Food is delicious, pool and hot tub feels like you are in the jungle with monkeys above you and the beach is only just steps away. And Yoga with Kristina was amazing, she is best yoga Instructor ever. Swimtrek knew what they were doing when they chose Bosque Del Mar.

Overall my family and I loved this hotel and our experiences there. Check in was easy and the reception staff was very friendly. The room was perfect for our needs. I liked the white bedding and decor but it was practical as well. There was a lot of hooks for hanging towels and wet swimsuits. Housekeeping came early which I loved since we’re up and about early as well. The parking attendant was always smiling and friendly. The pool and surrounding area was cleaned well each day as well as the hot tub. I liked the location a lot. I’m glad we stayed in Playa Hermosa over Coco, it’s much quieter and more relaxing. The hotel is right on the beach with chairs and tables for hotel guests. The waves were good, never too strong or big during our stay, my kids were able to play freely in the water. The pool was fantastic. I really appreciated the sense of privacy due to all the trees and greenery. There is a family of monkeys that visits in the early morning and evening. We saw them the first day and it was magical. The only thing I didn’t love about this hotel was the restaurant service. I do want to reiterate that it wasn’t bad, but I do wish there was options to get a small side or something. My kids got food poisoning from a DIFFERENT restaurant, the next day they just needed something little in their stomach. They made me feel like it was impossible to make this accommodation. Even with that, we still had a great time. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to others traveling to this area.

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Bosque Del Mar and had a wonderful time! It was almost perfect. The staff is very helpful and many are incredibly friendly, especially Jonathan and Alexis at the restaurant and bar. They both went out of their way to make sure my son and I had a safe trip (we both have Celiac Disease). No issues and pretty good food (if a bit overpriced)! The only issues I had were small. The rooms are updated, but had some quirks - light switches everywhere that seemed to do different things each time you push them, not a great TV, a set of lamps that had to all be on or off - but the place is nice and well-maintained otherwise. Hermosa beach is more secluded, so you really need a ride to nearby Coco Beach to have activities other than the beach, but it's easy enough to secure that. Overall, a wonderful place to stay. Make sure you look out for Jonathan and Alexis, they are wonderful people and happy to do their jobs well. We miss our time there already!

We stayed here for our first night after landing at Liberia and it was a short drive from the airport. What a treat! Beautiful grounds, very lush and tropical. The pool is great, hotel is right on the on the beach. The food and service were amazing. We felt very fortunate to have found this spot to kick off our vacation. We would definitely go back! Pura Vida!!

My wife and I stayed here the week of June 16-20, 2025. Everything about our stay was exceptional. To start, we want to acknowledge the amazing staff for treating us with great kindness and for going out of their way to meet our every need. Bryan and Jean Carlos at the front desk - you guys are amazing. Bryan, I want to thank you personally for making our stay so wonderful. Jonathan and Alex in the hotel bar - you guys make the best conversation and serve up the best banana and pineapple daiquiris to be found anywhere, north or south of the equator. In the restaurant, special thanks to Carlos-Garro, Diego, Maite, Clarence, Kiana, Yorsi and Alexis - you are the best at what you do. Thanks also to entertainment provided by the resident White-throated Magpie-Jay who never misses an opportunity to steal a pack of sugar or piece of fruit from a plate left unguarded! A very special thanks to Elizabeth for keeping our room spick and span, and for making sure we always had clean linens and bottles of spring water. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and nested within a tropical grove filled with sounds of ocean waves and songbirds. Grab a seat by the pool and watch for orioles, flycatchers and, of course, the ubiquitous rufous-backed wrens. The beach is just a few steps away and is stunningly beautiful. At the end of the short path from the hotel to the beach take a right turn and walk the quarter mile or so to Roberto's for a fish sandwich and passion fruit daiquiri - served up at a table with a breathtaking view of the beach and the Pacific Ocean. If I could give this place 6 stars I would. We will be back!!!!!!

This place is paradise! A luxury boutique hotel right on the beach. The greenery is beautiful and the beach and resort feel private. The sunsets were beyond beautiful. The rooms overlook the ocean and have great outdoor space. The pool like a lagoon with hot tub. Genesis and Carlos were wonderful waiters and the food was excellent, tuna ceviche so fresh and delicious! The yoga was great. The stress just melted away and we got used to la pura vida lifestyle. Highly recommend.

The staff was the best!!! Like the best I've ever interacted with. My initial trip in November was canceled due to the weather but spoke with me from early November through January when we were able to come. So very attentive!! The hotel is small but cozy. It is next to an open area for beach visitors who aren't hotel guests. My taxi driver turned in this area rather than into the hotel entrance. So, don't turn too soon! I scheduled a facial for my daughter and myself. It was glorious!! It was very relaxing except for the construction going outside of the windows.😪 We were given some delicious fruit & a refreshing frozen drink after the service. Just icing on the cake!!! The room was very nice. It was so beautiful!! I felt very comfortable and taken care of while there. The rooms do have floor-to-ceiling windows which I love! Unfortunately, the outside folks walking around can see in. The pool is really pretty and at the center of the hotel grounds. We didn't get to see any monkeys but there were a lot of iguanas. Lastly, dinner and breakfast were great!! Yummy, flavorful, filling, and inexpensive. The waiters were kind too. They even helped me with my Spanish.
