Hotel Bosque del Mar

Absolutely magical, peaceful oasis at Playa Hermosa. We stayed here with our one year old and parents. Staff were friendly, helpful, and great to our little guy. The location couldn't be better--tucked into a quiet end of Playa Hermosa, right on the beach but away from the crowds and nightclubs. Many mornings we had the end of the beach all to ourselves, and the gentle waves made for a perfect place for our baby to play. The resort was built thoughtfully into lush grounds which gives the rooms, with their floor-to-ceiling windows, the feeling of being private treehouses--whoever designed this place is a masterful architect! We watched birds bouncing around in the palms while sipping coffee in the morning. We were so impressed by how well the design of the place blended the buildings with the landscaping and natural surroundings and resulted in a tranquil atmosphere. The pool is great for little kids, including a pebbled ramped entry, and made for a nice respite from the heat (though the rooms had great A/C and were very comfortable). Everything from the rooms to the grounds had thoughtful touches that made our stay smooth and comfortable. The included breakfasts at the on site restaurant were excellent with great options for everyone. Other meals were pricey but quality. The coffee was outstanding. Bosque del Mar was the relaxing highlight of our trip to Costa Rica.

Beautiful, private hotel right on the beach. Everything was clean, secluded and safe. We loved our private balcony from the ocean view suite. The breakfast in the mornings was very good and the staff were all pleasant. Saw lots of monkeys right around the pool!

We had an amazing experience. Bryan A is a fantastic concierge who went above and beyond to accommodate us and help us feel welcome as guests of the hotel. He arranged timely massages keeping in mind our departure time, stored our luggage and anticipated all of our needs. The staff here in the spa were also excellent, friendly and professional. ||The grounds were beautiful and clean. This is a great location beach side!

My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Bosque Del Mar 4 times since 2017. This is our absolute favorite hotel in Costa Rica. The staff are all wonderful, beginning with Maythe at the front desk. We have enjoyed making friends with the restaurant team. Jonathan Gallo, Shirley Cerdas, Alexis, Soriano and Stepany are very friendly and always attentive to our wants and needs. The food is amazing. My husband had the octopus for dinner 3 days in a row and absolutely loved it. I especially enjoyed the tenderloin. We appreciate them very much. We promise you won't be disappointed.

The hotel is built like it’s part of nature, with trees all around each building. The beach is literally steps away from the hotel and restaurant. The rooms were great. The food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was expertly presented and tasted great. The staff in the restaurant were wonderful…very attentive to each of us and very friendly. Alexis, Serrano, Carlos, Shirley, and others whose names I’m forgetting were all so professional and courteous. Highly recommend!

Stayed here with two girlfriends for a week. The property is beautiful, and thoughtfully designed with the landscape in mind, with convenient beach access to a few different restaurants as well. But what really stood out was the service. Unmatched! I travel often and I had the best service I’ve ever experienced here. Also important: we felt very safe as three women. The entire front desk staff: jhoan, Bryan, Maite, Jean Carlos, Davis, and Diego were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful with recommendations and booking excursions, and the wait staff (special shout out to Jonathan and Carlos) made us feel like we were among family. We so enjoyed getting to know this amazing staff, they are genuinely SO kind and proud to share their culture. They made it extra hard to leave. Highly recommend staying here and hope to be back soon!!!

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Bosque del Mar. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located, but what truly made our vacation special was the incredible staff. Huge thank you to Fabio, Serrano, Sofia, Alexis, and Stephanie for their outstanding service and genuine hospitality.||The hotel made everything so easy to plan—we went diving, horseback riding, snorkeling, and jet skiing, all seamlessly arranged through the hotel. Zero stress, just an unforgettable experience. Friendly people, great service, and an amazing vacation. We can’t wait to come back! PURA VIDA!!

We had a simply fantastic few days at Hotel Bosque del Mar. The staff, location, and dining were all top notch. We booked the basic garden suite which was spacious and comfortable. All of the staff members were exceptional with a special nod to Jonathan , Alexis and Roylan. This was our first visit, but won't be our last.
