We stayed at Hotel Botanico & The Oriental Spa Garden in late April as a family of 8 (two couples and four children aged 5 to 12), and the experience was nothing short of exceptional.||||From the moment we arrived, the hotel impressed us with its immaculate cleanliness, tasteful decor, and tranquil, lush setting. Tucked away from the busy beachside tourist zones, its location may not be directly by the sea or major attractions—but that’s exactly what makes it feel like a hidden gem. It’s serene, secure, and beautifully maintained with free on-site parking and 24/7 security cameras, which made us feel totally at ease with the kids.||||The spa is a showstopper—arguably the best we’ve ever experienced. While it’s strictly adults-only (16+), it’s a true haven of calm and wellness. Treatments are reasonably priced for a 5-star property and genuinely world-class in both execution and atmosphere.||||The hotel offers five different restaurants, and we had the chance to try a few. The food and service were excellent, albeit on the pricier side. For balance, we’d recommend exploring nearby local restaurants as well—some fantastic options just a short walk away at a fraction of the price. The location also gives you easy access to Loro Parque and the Botanical Garden on foot, plus several small shops and supermarkets nearby.||||A couple of minor things to be aware of: although the hotel is family-friendly, the kids’ club doesn’t run year-round. We only discovered this after arrival, likely because Spanish holiday calendars don’t always align with other European school breaks. Also, if you’re planning visits to iconic Tenerife sites like Siam Park or Mount Teide, be ready for a drive—both are over an hour away, and many of the best beaches are at least 45-50 minutes out.||||Still, what the hotel may lack in beachside buzz, it more than makes up for in charm, comfort, and top-tier hospitality. Every member of the staff—from reception to restaurant to spa—was welcoming and professional. A special thank-you to Natalia from concierge, who kindly followed up with us after a minor accident to check on our well-being. That personal touch really stood out.||||All in all, Hotel Botanico is an absolute must for those seeking a high-end, relaxing Tenerife escape. We can’t wait to return.

This was our third visit to the hotel and I already look forward to our next! It is a luxurious hotel and all the staff are friendly and helpful and they really want guests to have a wonderful holiday so nothing seems to be too much trouble for them! We wanted a softer mattress or a topper and we got both instantly! We chose a superior room with sitting area and balcony with a lovely view of the mountain! The bathroom was spacious and the shower brilliant! I also loved having a Nespresso machine in the room! We thought the breakfast was excellent and I couldn’t get enough of the freshly squeezed kiwi juice and vitamin juice! Delicious! I particularly liked the Oriental restaurant so ate there mostly if we were not down at the seafront! There is a very useful regular shuttle bus up and down to the seafront which is always punctual! I walked in the very large gardens every day as I loved watching the swans and the huge amount of large Koi plus families of terrapins ! Relaxing and therapeutic! The spa is also wonderful with a choice of pools and jacuzzi’s! Another great thing is the evening entertainment as there is a variety of music so something different each night of the week! I could go on and on but I would say just go and book it you won’t be disappointed!

From start to finish this hotel absolutely made our holiday. |I had not flown anywhere in 20 years due to an extreme fear of flying, but after my father passed away I wanted to see where he used to holiday every year. ||Firstly al the staff leading up to our holiday were brilliant and helped me with all my questions. ||We booked a private transfer which was seamless and really helped after the flight. ||From the moment we pulled up to the hotel and were greeted by Havier to the moment we left, nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff was absolutely fantastic. ||Breakfast was phenomenal with so much choice, big shout out to Mario on the cooking station most mornings. ||We ate at the Mediterranean restaurant on 2 evenings and they even changed the menu slightly to facilitate my dairy allergy. |We also ate once at the poolside bar which was also brilliant. ||We stayed in a slightly bigger room (234) which was absolutely perfect. The room was a great size, as was the bathroom and changing area. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and gardens which we loved. The balcony had a table, chairs and sun lounger. ||Members of staff remembered our names which was always amazing how they remembered everyone. ||The spa (we had it included in our package) was only for adults - this is perfect as we both teach and loved a few days in peace and tranquility. The spa has a lovely outdoor pool as well as indoor and our favourite was the waterbeds which were so relaxing. ||SO much to do inside the hotel, but also across the road there are other restaurants, shops, a pharmacy and a supermarket. And 15-20 minute walk and you were in the town centre - although you can also get the complimentary shuttle bus the has from the hotel into town. ||I honestly have never stayed in such an amazing hotel with such great service. It’s going to make going to any other hotel very hard to compare!||If you are looking at booking this hotel, please do not hesitate. ||Thank you to all the staff for making my holiday everything and more. ||(I do not have any negatives but just a thought moving forwards - dairy free spread would be great) ||Thank you again and we cannot wait to come back

Located about an hour and 15 minutes from the airport on the south side of the island. This hotel is spacious and suspicious, the lobby area is all marble, light and airy. We had a suite which was more than big enough for two. There are on site restaurants which can be used if you are staying half board and included (drinks are not). The spa and wellness area is excellent with possibly the best facilities I've seen in Europe, very clean and well stocked with everything you need (changing rooms, robes, towels). The staff are amazing particularly the bar staff who are engaging and attentive.

Wow, incredible! A unique experience. I felt super well cared for and safe at all times. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the facilities were spectacular—traditional yet very cozy rooms. The best moment was when I went to the spa with my husband; I had never left a place feeling so relaxed and satisfied. Wow!

When we arrived at Hotel Botanico we were welcomed in a super nice way by the staff. The porter that accompanied us in the room was super nice by giving us very useful information which he did with passion. Smooth check in and check out. The room was an antique style, well kept and elegant. The bathroom was large with a bath and a separate shower. Good size balcony, we had a view over Teide. In the room we had a coffee station a safe etc. The breakfast was very nice. Nice Gardens and pool areas with a heated swimming pool. Some sunbeds waterproof surface were a bit damaged so they absorbed water and when you will lie down you will get wet from it, we hope they will pay more attention to that. There are two swimming pool available. We stayed at the hotel only one night and did not use all amenities however we really enjoyed our short stay. (visited January 2025)

Whilst travelling to the Hotel Botanico & Oriental Spa Garden, we tried to figure out how many times we had visited before. Not quite sure but I think this was our 20th or 21st visit. We keep going back because we find the experience so delightful!||The hotel itself is very comfortable and relaxing, the food is terrific and the staff so warm, helpful and efficient and we feel so very welcome, that we think it is hard to beat. Our visits to the Hotel are very much looked forward to and we are currently planning our next stay

4th Visit , big fans of Botanico but have noticed a slow decline in service and value for money. Each visit we have enjoyed a half board stay, enjoying the lovely food. I’m vegetarian and do struggle to find vegetarian food inside the hotel that is what I’d expect, the vegetarian sandwich for example is packed with boiled egg.. technically this is vegetarian but in the UK it is a highly unusual choice and not one for many vegetarian palettes. However they are very happy to make alternative arrangements if you are able to communicate with your server. This is another “issue”, while we appreciate that we are in a Spanish speaking territory as foreigners, some of the people who need excellent language skills, are lacking, resulting in repeated confusion with orders. The bar Staff are all absolutely fantastic, the drinks are always excellent and you are always greeted promptly and warmly. Shoutout to Phillip! They go above and beyond to meet your needs and have never once hesitated to accommodate us, one of the best bar areas likely on the island. The spa.. the spa is clean, tasteful and comfortable. But like all the pools, frustratingly cold. We have noticed in our repeated visits over the years that the temperatures appear to be dropping. We have told staff repeatedly about this and either told it’s being repaired or is at the required temperature. It is not, and has only been comfortable on our first visit. We often make notes that few are actually in the multiple site pools and this should be an obvious indicator that they are not up to a comfortable standard. In a Conde Nast awarded and 5*GL hotel, this is unacceptable. This brings me onto my next observation, the spa we have been told will no longer be available as part of your stay, it will incur an additional fee. We do not believe the facilities here are worth this, especially with the amount of issues we have noticed over time. On our latest visit the laconium was out of order and upon accidental entry it was crawling with ants. This was not resolved during our 10 day stay. However, if an issue arises the team will go above and beyond to try to resolve it. Blinds not closing? Maintenance will be in your room in the hour fixing it, looking for a taxi to anywhere? It will be waiting for you whenever you need it. Dietary requirements not met? It will be. Pool is cold? Sorry it’s at the desired temperature…. ( it’s freezing, and will remain so ). We have much enjoyed our stays over the years and do greatly appreciate our visits. Botanico has gained a spot in our hearts and we hope it can remain that way. I leave this review as constructive criticism and hope it is taken on board, I know I am not alone with this feedback.

Yelp
This is one of the very best places I've stayed at! The service here is extraordinary, and the staff go out of their way to make your stay special. I can't possibly explain all they have to offer, but I would encourage anyone to visit their website for a more thorough list. If you are looking for a special place to take that special someone, this is it! Here are some of the highlights from our stay: Getting here is super easy to do, from private car, taxi, or bus. We arrived on the island and took the 343 bus from the airport (TFN). The bus was super clean and reasonably priced (less than 10€ for two!). When we arrived, check-in was easy. They gave us fresh juice and were given a quick tour of the main dining areas and spa. Then, they showed us to our room and gave us a rundown of how things operated (light switches, mini-bar, TV, safe). Our room was fully stocked with everything imaginable. They even had slippers and oversized robes for guests to use for the spa. The grounds are a work of art (see pictures). Peaceful walkways, pools, fountains, flowers, wild birds and butterflies abound. This seems like an oasis within the busy tourist area of the Puerto de la Cruz. There is a poolside restaurant with waiters to tend to your every need. For restaurants, they have three main offerings: The Oriental is their top dining selection, offering exquisite Thai cuisine (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Other dinner options include La Parrilla as their Spanish restaurant and Il Pappagallo for traditional Italian fare. For breakfast and lunch, their main floor restaurant and poolside area offer an incredible buffet and special order items. My wife and I were only disappointed that we weren't staying more days! The spa is what truly makes this hotel a premier destination. There are special pools, exercise rooms, yoga and Thai chi rooms, saunas (many types - Turkish, Japanese), jacuzzi tubs, an ice room, water beds, and other items to help one relax and rejuvenate. My wife and I did the 'Experience for two' in their Private Dragon spa bath. This was a special treat for two and a half hours, and felt great after climbing up/down Gibraltar and wandering Sevilla with bags of stuff. There are sports courts here as well, but since I'm not a sports guy, I'll leave that to others to review. The staff here are great, and they will help you book reservations at local restaurants in advance if you want to venture out. They also have a courtesy bus that takes guests up/down the hillside regularly throughout the day, so you don't have to hike up and down from the hotel. If the bus doesn't work, they always have taxis standing by to wisk you away to wherever you want to go. I would highly recommend Hotel Botanico for anyone who wants to get away from the routine and spoil themselves for awhile.
