Hôtel Boulevart Donostia

For some reason Trip Advisor and Google list this as a 4 Star Hotel. It assuredly is not. It's a 2 Star Pensione (see picture at their front door). For a 2 star place it was perfectly adequate, but it lacked all the amenities associated with a 4 star property. Accordingly, I was disappointed

DO NOT BOOK. Price is OK for a 2 star hotel. Rooms are clean. Main issues: 1. Actually a 2 star hotel instead of a 4 star hotel. Incorrect information shown on google. 2. Hot water seems to be shared centrally among everyone and runs out within 5-10 minutes of showering. Need to wait before hot water is replenished. 3. During our stay there, there was a power issue twice in the building where we were locked out until a neighbour opened the door. 4. View was fully blocked by construction which was not stated on the website.

I loved my stay here, rooms are clean and spacious, great location and great view. Stuff was very nice.

This is by no means a 4 star hotel and I don't know why Google lists as such (see picture). It's an adequate 2 star pensione with charmless, but adequate rooms. Also the AC was broken.

The Boulevart is a very small little hotel in the heart of the tourist zone. While the hotel itself is simple, it is very clean and well worth the value. Nearby hotels, albeit with more services, would charge 2-3 more for the same location.||The room has decent air conditioning although it's on a timer so you need to either change the base settings or restart the unit from time to time. The room also came with a mini-refrigerator that included a couple of cans of beer and coke along with 2 water bottles. It was a nice touch.||Daniel, the manager, was very friendly and gave us some good ideas regarding some things to do in the area. The check in process was very efficient and we were good to go within a few minutes. ||If you are OK with simple and clean, the Boulevart Donostia is 100% recommended.||While I didn't cut the review ranking I would have two suggestions to the team:||1) Improve the signage for the hotel. The hotel occupies most of one floor of a larger building and is almost impossible to find on the street. We actually needed to call Daniel to find the entrance. NOTE - It is pretty much right next to Burger King. Look above the door to spot the #2 and the key pad to the left has a button to gain entrance.||2) The safes in the rooms should be bolted down so they can't be easily removed. While I wasn't too concerned about the security of the building, it would have been nice if it was a bit tougher to simply walk off with room safe.

Beware. Paid on line on their site for 2 nights. Arrived, no room. For months promised a refund "tomorrow." Ended up having to dispute the credit card charge.

First of all, this is not a 4-star hotel. It is a very small, but also very centrally located location with only a few rooms, no reception, and hard-to-find entrance. And there is no restaurant or bar of course. When that is out of the way, you will be hard pressed to find anything more central. Good quality rooms, free mini bar, nice and quiet, and cost efficient. When hotel prices are what they are in San Sebastián there is no reason not to stay here. Breakfast around the corner is your option. Would stay again.

Update*** After months of chasing up a refund that was promised due to the construction and scaffolding obstructing the view, no refund has been paid. We were promised a 25% refund on our booking. As this is a smaller operation there’s no one to really complain to, so it’s the risk you run. Be careful when booking. We would have had an awesome view but there was scaffolding and construction. However this was addressed at check in that a refund would be provided of 25%.
