Hotel Boutique Casa Don Gustavo

This is far more than a hotel…it is an oasis in Campeche, which, for people from the US is hot and humid and difficult. We were greeted by the lovely manager, Karina, who gave us all we needed for a great stay. Including cold lemonade! Our room was huge, with both air conditioning and a fan. The decor is lovely. The bathroom is nearly as large as the bedroom…it has a fantastic shower, separate toilet and bidet, two sinks. Like most places in Mexico, the hotel, grounds, and rooms are absolutely spotless. It is difficult to convey to people who have not traveled to Mexico how crucial cleanliness is to all Mexicans. They work constantly to keep things spotless. We slept so well here! Breakfast was included. The menu had so many suggestions and all came with fruit, sweet rolls, and delicious coffee. Our waiter, Ricardo, dressed in an impeccable white coat, sensed when we needed coffee. Mexican service cannot be bear. We both had delicious food on both mornings. We swam in the pool, which is small, but has chaises with fresh towels. We loved exploring Campeche, but in June it is quite hot and humid. Our hotel room provided us with an oasis of cool comfort.

A beautiful old building in the centre of Campeche houses the Casa Don Gustavo.||A small boutique hotel with a large open courtyard and small pool area which was great after a long journey and day of sightseeing.||The room was large and well appointed and the bathroom was excellent. Outside the room there were spacious sitting areas which felt very private. ||Breakfast was taken in the central courtyard and was good.||Staff were helpful and professional.||The hotel is surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants. The street in which the hotel is situated is vibrant and a great place to sit and watch the world go by.||Overall an excellent hotel.

Casa Don Gustavo checks all of my usual boxes for a hotel in a new city. It's small (10 rooms), centrally located (couldn't get more central), with a wonderful staff. You're just two blocks from the Golf of America (!), on the central restaurant street, just a block over from the central plaza. The rooms are air conditioned. There's a cute little pool for when the heat gets too much. Breakfast is included and is delicious. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. What more do you need?

Nice accomodation, well decorated with warm colors. Excellent staff. The breakfast was excellent.|My only concern would be the car park located a few hundred meters from the hotel.|Definitely a place to recommand

Excellent location in the heart of old Campeche, friendly staff, large, comfortable rooms, fresh-cooked breakfast on the courtyard. This is truly a boutique hotel - small, filled with antiques, and the ambience of the Old World.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at Casa Don Gustavo. Everything worked perfectly, from check in to check out. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel premises are very nice, though restaurant and greenery could be improved. The room was spacey and immaculately clean. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. Highly recommended!

My suite at the hotel was very nice- a large bedroom and bathroom with lots of characterful furniture and storage space. Likewise, the rest of the hotel is very pretty with lots of character and green plants around. Breakfast was generous and delicious as you could order à la carte along with fruits and bread/cake basket. I was full so got a breakfast sandwich which I had to get wrapped to take away with me for the train. The hotel’s location is excellent, only around the corner from the main square and right in the centre of the old walled city. Tons of restaurants and bars nearby. ||Disadvantages: that particular room has a window onto the stairs leading down to the courtyard and a second window and the door open onto the courtyard itself where the kitchen and breakfast are. Therefore I could hear staff at just past 6 am starting to get breakfast ready and chatting quite loudly with the courtyard acoustics amplifying it. At 8 am the music started…

Wonderful historic hotel. Everything about our stay at Casa Don Gustavo was perfect - location, room, service, food. Highly recommend.

This quaint hotel is the perfect location for visiting the Centro Histórico area of Campeche. The hotel staff were very accommodating & professional. The breakfast was amazing, I had the chilaquiles rojo on several mornings and my wife loved the pancakes. The restaurant staff, especially Adres, were amazing. We definitely stay here again.

This a great hotel, with great service, a great staff and good food. Couple all the above with it is close to everything. However, do NOT get Room 1 or 2 because you may not get a restful night's sleep if you are a light sleeper. We were there for 2 nights and my rest was interrupted both nights by bass thumping techno rock music and "party goers" until 2am. Other than the noise level, the place is terrific.

Didn't stay there. Only had breakfast there. It was great food, prices and service. It looks clean and well kept. Will try to stay there next time we visit San Francisco, Campeche

Loved our stay, the hotel had an excellent location. The front door are on 59th street where all the restaurants are located. You basically walk 20 steps and you'll have 3-4 restaurant to chose from. But if your too lazy to walk, dine in at this hotel, they service is one of the best, paying close attention to you. We stayed in a standard room and it was great. The Water is about a 2 blocks away, and the center of the town is also about 2 blocks away.
