Hotel Boutique Casona de la China Poblana

On our way to the Zocalo, I stumbled upon a grand statue inside a historic building and felt compelled to explore further. I ventured in and discovered a restaurant within the Hotel Boutique Casona de la China Poblana. The menu was enticing, so we decided to enjoy lunch in the lovely courtyard. With the entire restaurant to ourselves, we savored delicious food and drinks, complemented by attentive service. The owner, noticing us taking photos by the impressive statue, graciously offered to capture a picture of us. Overall, it was a truly delightful dining experience! Note that we were not hotel guests.

We really enjoyed our three nights here. The location is perfect, lovely rooms done in the colonial style but with a large modern bathroom. Great breakfast and service. The only thing to be aware of is that all of the guest rooms are on the upper floor and there is no elevator. The hotel staff will gladly help you with your luggage, but you need to be able to climb the stairs.

This is a charming old hotel just off the Zocalo. The sfaff are wonderful and the Presidential Suite was the quietest place I have ever stayed in my many travels in Mexico. There are one or two other quiet rooms that don't face the streets (its on a corner), best to call and ask the names of the rooms. The staff spoke basic English.||The complimentary breakfast and welcome cocktail were very good also.||My only issues were that the internet was spotty to non-existent (I am sure they will fix this soon) and the big tub in our suite had insufficient water flow to fill in less than an hour. ||Stay here and enjoy the proximity to the centro, the colonial feel of the hotel and the lovely staff.

One of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. My beautiful room had stylish décor and extravagant bathroom. Each morning it was a great pleasure to have breakfast in the lovely courtyard, featuring seasonal fruit, toast, egg dishes, juice and coffee. The location in the historic center is superb. Most importantly, the hotel staff members are experts in customer service. I had a personal emergency during my stay. The hotel manager and restaurant manager went out of their way to show tremendous kindness to me, which I will never forget. I am so fortunate to have stayed at this wonderful hotel.

This is a little gem of a hotel in the centre of Pueblo, close to many places of interest. The rooms are gorgeous, and we stayed in one of the cheaper rooms - the suites must be magnificent. There are extremely high ceilings, very comfortable beds and the design is very attractive and original. We loved it here and were sorry we were only staying one night. Loved the coffee and tea bar with Nespresso machine, which meant you could get good quality coffee at any time. The staff are extremely helpful, and they gave the impression that were genuinely pleased to be able to welcome you to the hotel. It was lovely to be offered a free cocktail on arrival. Being the quiet season, there weren't too many other guests staying there, but that added to the tranquility. Breakfasts vary I think from day to day. We have breakfast on a Sunday, when they seem to lay out lunch from an early hour. However, if there is anything you particularly want, they will go out of their way to get it for you. We would love to come back here!

Casona de la China Poblana has beautiful rooms and a relaxing patio restaurant. The food is outstanding and the staff is very welcoming. I have stayed there four times and have had a great experience every time. I plan to return every year.||FYI - There is no elevator, but the accommodating staff will carry your luggage upstairs.

Stayed here for two nights and loved the hotel style and design - it’s beautiful and our room was spectacular. It’s hard to fault the look and feel of the place.||But our experience with breakfast each morning didn’t match the expectation the surroundings set. Everything was a bit amateurish with a poor/limited menu, slow service and a general lack of efficiency. If this was a average looking place or a chain we’d understand but it looks fantastic and it sets an expectation of high class service.||For example one morning they were having some form of networking/business event and almost all the tables were dedicated to it, we couldn’t find someone to order breakfast from and the sole focus was the event.||If they can sort out their priorities this will be an amazing place.
