"Iguanas swim here in the ocean, which, separated only by a line of palm trees, nearly laps right up to the front of La Casa de Marita. The three-level building began 20 years ago as a house, literally Marita’s house. It has continued to expand over the years, adding a room here and a wooden deck there. The idea was not to create a large hotel, but a family-friendly inn that’s just friendly and comfortable enough that everyone feels welcome. They’re short of being luxurious, but the colorful, funky rooms have clay-tile floors and are equipped with eclectic wooden furniture; those on the ocean side have small balconies crisscrossed with hammocks. An on-site restaurant caters mostly to hotel guests, often preparing buffet dinners or beachside tables for groups or special occasions. There are a few chairs and tables with umbrellas on the beachfront, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but here, it is all one needs."
Our ‘yellow’ room with large windows and sea-facing balcony was one of the best. They provided additional Gluten free breakfast items as requested. The Senior Receptionist was notably very good and specifically asked us how our stay was going. The hotel is kept very clean. The fridge in the room was great, the room was large, the bed was comfortable, there were chairs, a side table and a hammock on the balcony. There were great views. Quiet in the day and at night, in a good way, allowing us to relax. There is water in reception so no need to buy any. We had the tapas and wine one evening and this was very nice and good value. It was delivered to our room so we could enjoy it on our balcony. It should be noted that the sea is more suited to surfing than swimming unless confident, and this seemed to apply to the whole coastline on that part of the island at least. There is no lift but staff took our suitcases to the room. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel, based on the images and numerous reviews convinced us the price would equate to the experience. However, that's not the case. The only "boutique" thing about this spot is the views/seating area outside.
I hardly leave reviews unless something was really tragic or over the top amazing. However, since travelers are going to be looking for places to stay/budgeting on their Galapagos trip; I felt it necessary to leave an honest review.
We had the large king room facing the ocean, wherein, the room was damp/moist throughout the night. I suppose the rooms aren't sealed well enough. The bed is pretty firm. The room pretty much looks/feels like a motel 6 room that is slightly larger.
However, it wasn't all bad, the hammock on the terrace was nice, the AC worked as well as the cold/hot water shower which was refreshing. The staff are delightful and easy to work with + super informative.
In summary, the price point + quality of the rooms, just didn't match. Everything else was okay for the most part. Thus, the reason for the 3 star.

We loved casa de Marita. It’s the oldest hotel on the island and has so much charm, groovy art, & immaculate vibes. Jonathan took great care of us and made us feel welcomed. Do not forget to eat at their restaurant! It’s all organic farm produce. It’s ideal if you order ahead of time and you can take a little walk with the beach iguanas while they prepare it. We’d definitely stay here again!

This a perfect 3-star hotel and definitely one of the better quality accomodation options on the island. At check in, I was greeted by Jonathan who was lovely and offered me a welcome lemonade. I had a lovely, basic and comfortable room which was huge and looked across the ocean. I’d stay here again as I spent most afternoons lounging away in the hammock. My only feedback, is that the mango room is directly below the kitchen so you hear footsteps and breakfast being prepared from 6am

Best spot! Oldest hotel in the island and amazing food and views! Right out of the main part of town so it’s a very private setting but a 2 minute walk to the Plaza. The restaurant is incredible and the breakfast was crucial every day. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Have to stay here!

One of the most beautiful and peaceful hotels I've ever stayed in. It's right on the beach and the rooms were lovely. Shower was great, AC worked excellent, the beds were comfy. The restaurant has delicious food that I highly recommend!! The staff were also so helpful. They helped me organize a romantic beach dinner for myself and my fiance and it was wonderful. They even helped me by ironing her dress without her knowing before I proposed to her!
If you are going to Isabela, staying at this hotel is a MUST DO

We had a great stay at Casa de Marita! Our room was spacious and clean with an ample patio that looked out onto the beach. Breakfast was pretty standard, but my daughter loved that pound cake LOL. What was the real treat was Jonathan at the desk. He was warm, personable and greeted us with a smile every time he saw us. He made our stay!

We had a great time at Casa De Marita. We were fortunate to have a top room with a balcony looking out onto the beach and the ocean, with a wonderful hammock to maximise the chill potential !|The staff were very kind and helpful and we had great breakfast every morning (the bread rolls are amazing !) we even had a secret passage from our room directly to the breakfast restaurant area through a terrace !||Getting back every night walking barefoot on the beach directly to our room was quite magical !||Thanks Casa de Marita! We hope to be back some day
