Hotel Boutique Lagarta Lodge

We had a wonderful time. The staff was incredible and gave us an amazing experience. The rooms were lovely, and much larger than they appeared online. They made it really easy to explore the area, with both structured tours and a local shuttle. The food was great at the restaurant, and they cheerfully accommodated my daughters’ allergies. We saw Howler monkeys nearby in the trees while we were at the pool, myriad iguanas and geckos, and other creatures like coatis and raccoons.

Everything was perfect from check in to check out at Lagarta Lodge. The welcome drink was amazingly refreshing and we were given excellent instructions and maps about the beaches nearby, the free shuttle services and restaurant. The front desk receptionist walked us to our large and exceptionally clean room and when we walked inside, we saw the heart swans sculpture, fresh flowers and and anniversary balloon on our bed. The floor to ceiling glass windows/patio doors made you feel like you were in the jungle. One morning, there were 2 howler monkeys on the tree in front of us on the patio. The food at the restaurant was so delicious. For the daily breakfast, they served fresh baked goods, juice and coffee along with whatever we ordered. We were not disappointed by any of our selections and at a couple of dinners and lunch/snacks there as well. The sunset view from the restaurant was spectacular. Our only regret was not staying longer. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I have had dinner at Lagarta Lodge before but never stayed there. We were so happy with our stay. Beautiful property and friendly staff. |We loved how there were 3 different pools to choose from. Everyone had an amazing view. |The rooms were very nice and had a great view. We had a family of monkeys climbing down the tree 5 feet from our balcony. It was a great way to start the day!

The hotel is beautifully laid out, with stunning views of the ocean, jungle and mountains throughout, especially from the restaurant and at least several of the room balconies (ours included). The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are large and nicely decorated. The breakfasts are good, too, and although the restaurant menu is not extensive, the food is well made and the service is excellent. The staff altogether is superb: the front desk (three cheers to Daniel, Samuel and Irwin!), the spa personnel and housekeeping, all totally professional and eager to help. It is a good thing that the restaurant is good, because no one would want to drive on the horrendous road leading to the hotel at night. In fact, the roads of Nosara are pretty awful, and the road from Ruta 160 to the hotel is not the worst. That’s the only negative. The hotel is great.

Great place. Nice and tucked away but was still able to walk everywhere. Very beautiful property with amazing views. Everything at the restaurant was delicious. All staff was very kind and helpful! It was great being next to the reserve and being able to easily take self guided hikes through the area.

The hotel is truly a special place. We spent 11 days in Costa Rica, with the last 3 days and 2 nights in Lagarta. As soon as we walked onto the property we knew it was the perfect place to end our trip. We took the guided tour through the reserve, which was well worth our time. We all had massages, including my children. The spa has a stunning view of the beach and reserve. Our dining experience was excellent. We ate all of our meals at the lodge, including pool side snacks and beverages. The lodge is family friendly, but it is also the perfect setting for a romantic get away. ||Our room had unbelievable views of the beach and reserve. The balcony was spacious as well as the bathroom and main bedroom. The shower also offered beautiful views of the beach and reserve. It had all of the ingredients for a blissful experience, but unfortunately, the construction made the room uncomfortable. ||Between 7:30am and 5pm. the construction sounded as if they were pounding in large metal support beams. It was very intense with little reprieve from the banging. I believe the construction came from an adjacent property on the south side of the lodge. The construction seemed only to be heard from our end of the lodge. You could not hear it from the common areas (pool, dining, spa, etc). ||I travel in and out of Nosara, and understand construction is part of the landscape, but I truly thought I was going to escape construction at Lagarta, so it was disappointing. However, we chose to keep a positive attitude and salvage the time we had by spending it in the common grounds where the construction could not be heard. ||I still recommend booking, and I will book here again, because it's such a unique and well designed hotel with one of the best views in the area. I would just suggest inquiring about the construction and ask not to be placed in a room where it will be heard.

Last leg of our trip another lovely hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean.|4 infinity pools , very tasty food in the onsite restaurant. Staff very attentive..|The only negative thing was we were booked to go on a boat trip on the river , we had to walk through overgrown bushes next to the river there was no jetty we had to walk on very wet boggy sand. This is something that needs to addressed incase anyone falls or trips .The guide was very knowledgeable and kept apologizing. felt sorry for him.|Overall it was very nice comfortable hotel.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and had the most amazing time. The restaurant food was to die for!!! SO YUMMY. And definitely the best food we’ve had on our trip. Friendly and helpful staff, amazing views and clean areas/ pools. Massage was good as well. Would recommend to anyone!! Such a relaxing place to stay
