Luz de Luna Hotel

Rooms are modest and comfortable with a nice warm shower. Very pleasant friendly staff. Simple satisfying breakfast and coffee included. Dozens of local character restaurants and bars within walking distance. A great restful place to recharge and get city stuff taken care of. Easy access to downtown attractions and shopping.

Loved the location and vibe here. However, the room was a wee bit small (I stayed in Claus), the bed had no headboard, and the mattress was thin - very basic. Breakfast was decent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The best thing about this hotel, though, was Franklin the cat!

Great location, amazing staff (Danny was amazing!), and breakfast that is included was delicious. The rooms are lovely with hot water showers and comfy beds. The train is near by and honks a lot but not during the night time.

Let's start from the good things: Nice fluently speaking English young employees, Safe part of the city, Hot water in the shower, Free tiny parking. Now bad side: Almost anything falls apart, sleeping on one bed you are almost on the floor. Squeaking floors.

This was a great place to stay for what we needed. We arrived in San Jose with the plan of getting the pink bus in the morning. At first, I was surprised by the room as it gives more of a hostel feel and it is older which is the only reason I knocked it a star (beds and pillows are old). BUT, and I hope you've read on, the service and breakfast made it worth it. We got to sit in the back which has tables and drank wine with the resident cat. Even though it's a happening neighborhood, it was really nice to relax in a quiet space. The breakfast was so good and the coffee was excellent. We had a peaceful night sleep and the pink bus picked us up at the front door the next morning.

Great little hotel in Barrio Escalante. There area lot ofgood restaurants and cafes around. Simple acco odatio ,affordable prices. Freebreakfast is very tasty.

So this place is in a safe neighbourhood. However the facilities are quite below expectations. I had no switches in my room and the bedding and bathroom did not seem very clean. I found hair in the toilet and it was not cleaned.

The staff at the hotel are super friendly. Breakfast is fabulous with really good coffee, we loved the way the coffee was filtered and served at the table. The rooms are relatively simple but comfortable. The low price for the room makes it a great value stay. There is no aircon but there was a cool breeze when we were staying. The hotel also serves brunch and there are many restaurants near by.
